(This is an Alt for Jackcam6/Spinel.)
Name: Mexican Glass Opal (goes by Glass.)
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: Early 20s
Gemstone: Mexican Glass Opal
Gemstone Location: Upper chest (Right above where Amethyst's gem is)
Corrupted: No
Appearance: Glass has light red skin of the same color as in the gemstone above, her hair is colored exactly like her gemstone, with yellow and red being the most prominent colors and electric blue flakes sprinkled throughout. Her eyes are centrally heterochromic, with the center of her eyes being bright yellow and getting darker red the more you go out from the center. She has an ectomorph build for her body, and is 5 ft 8 in tall.
Personality:
Positive traits- Adaptable, capable, fairly kind, hardworking, patient.
Neutral traits- Quiet, musical, deceptive, obedient, placid.
Negative traits- reactionary, secretive, harsh, tense, crafty.
Likes: Homeworld, hot drinks, warmth, being alone.
Dislikes: Obnoxious Gems, loud noises, horror media, humans. (The last one to only a small degree)
Fears: Betrayal, the open ocean, the dark.
Weapon: Ranseur (Essentially a spear with a hilt used to catch an opponent's weapon, and possibly disarm the opponent or break the weapon.)
Ability 1: Fire manipulation: Glass can bend fire to her will, using it for any purpose she sees fit. (So long as fire could actually be useful in the situation, of course.) There is nothing special about the fire or this ability, it's just Glass being able to conjure and control regular fire. She can control fire that is anywhere within a 10 foot radius around her, and can shoot a projectile ball of fire accurately at 30 feet. For every rise in power rank, her range of control goes up 1 foot, as well as her projectile range improving by 5 feet.
Ability 2: Thermal manipulation: Glass has the ability to manipulate the temperature of a substance by absorbing or giving off heat to said object.
Fusions: None yet
History: Before she made her way to Earth, Glass was recruited into Yellow Diamond's military segment. She was known as an "Interrogator", a moderately high ranking in Yellow Diamond's authority. Her jobs ranged from scouting out worlds to determine if they were fit for colonization, to interrogation, to detective work, pretty much whatever her superiors thought she was capable of. One day, her superiors assigned her to a simple mission: destroy the human colony native to where they had planned to place a Kindergarten.
The moment Glass made it to Earth, she knew the planet was more than perfect for a Kindergarten. The rock was rich in ore and minerals, and the planet had already supported life. in the third hour of the search, she saw the camp of humans, and began to document their behavior. Unfortunately for those who sent her on the mission, Glass had never dealt with aliens and it soon became apparent that she had quite a soft spot for them. The more she learned about the humans, the more she believed that they were just as important as Gems. Eventually, she realized that they would be unable to defend themselves, and believed that it would be unjust of her to just kill them. She approached the camp, and began to gain her trust.
Glass decided to teach the humans how to fight and defend themselves using her own weapon as a teaching tool. After the first couple days, she realized that even if the humans were able to master her weapon, they wouldn't be able to defend themselves just by being able to fight, so she began to teach them basic tactics like ambush, and how to be effective fighters in small groups. Even then, she felt that the humans would need more time, more of everything, and decided to teach them how to make artifacts out of defeated Gems.
This final act proved to be her biggest mistake. All of her training, all that she drilled into them, lead the natives to become a violent, war-loving people, and the first thing they did to test the new-found knowledge on artifacts and war tactics was to defeat Glass in combat, and imprison her in one of the artifacts she taught them how to make. (This is what lead Glass to generally dislike humans.) They were successful, but were saddened to find that Glass gave them no special powers or abilities, and so they made her solely a festive ornament worn by their leader, and converted the knowledge on making artifacts into jewelry-making.
The native humans decided to become nomadic, and traveled south, eventually settling in the modern day Valley of Mexico. Thousands of years later, after their civilization fell, Glass and all other artifacts of interest were moved to be preserved or studies and Glass found herself in the hands of a small museum based in Beach City. Still in that museum to this day, she lays behind a glass case, awaiting someone or something to release her from her imprisonment.
Character Arcs:
1: A simple romance arc if I can get one off the ground. It will center around her secretive nature, and trying to get her to open up a little, as well as attempting to make her a bit less harsh.
2: Yet another simple arc, this time focused on her past before becoming an Interrogator, focusing on her fears and personality and helping her to trust others, as well as improving upon her personality traits.
(Edit: I was unhappy with some of my wording in the history section.)
