"There's got to be a pristine pillar around here somewhere." Fulgur spoke to himself scanning each of the pillar in the massive wreckage attempting to find one to use as the projection point for the relay he was attempting to build. He stepped quickly and only had to look briefly at pillars as he moved for the lenses his eyes were set to did most of the work for him. His left hand floated some feet away projection a cone of screen light onto different parts of the wreck to help boost the speed of his search. He had been at it for about and hour and was rapidly running out of wreckage to scan. "Ah, curse the Authority. How daft am I to even consider that anything usable would be left in the cantankerous mess."
And as if one some queue set by cosmic irony his hand stopped and came to a rest on a pillar hidden under a pile of rubble. Fulgur turned quickly upon reciving the signal that there was indeed one pillar in capable enough condition for his needs. "By the stars, I may actually be able to make this relay yet." He stepped quickly over the rubble and approached where his hand had landed. There was about two and a half pillars covering the pillar. Fulgur hand resumed it's proper position at the end of his left arm and flexed it quickly out of habit to make sure it was set properly. "Shouldn't be too hard to dislodge as long as I"m careful. And there's not one around blowing up machinery, so that's a plus." Fulgur said chuckling to himself recounting his adventures in the kindergarten not long ago.

A faint sound is heard throughout the halls of the complete wreckage of communication or whatever this was, Several small circular droids scattered throughout the area, shining their lights to scan the pillars for a functioning Pillar to use. steps could be heard if you listened closely enough, following pursuit slowly behind the droids is a Gem, attired with clothing that matched the rank of a high ranking Scientist by Homeoworld Standards.
"Initiate search protocol." She ordered her droids, waving her hand ahead of her. three droids floated ahead of the commanding Gem, scanning further ahead more pillars.
"Hopefully one of these pillars can be operational for me too use." She muttered herself, so far this Gem first contact with earth hasn't been "easy going" so far.
"Hopefully one of these pillars can be operational for me too use." Fulgur heard the warp pad go off and quickly turned his attention towards it rather than the pillar he had found. He swapped lenses quickly and zoomed in to identify the sudden arrival but if he had a heart, it would have dropped at that moment. "That's not possible..." He said quietly to himself having easily recognized the marking on the gem that arrived. He ducked behind the rubble he was next to and clenched his fist and teeth. He had hoped he would never encounter any of the scientists from Homewrold, and certainly not as high of a rank as the one that arrived. The memories he had of them only came in flashed when he tried to think about it, but what he did remember horrified him.
His augments had never really bother him but at this moment he was very aware that vastly different from the rest of him. He took a deep breath to steady himself and poked his head out briefly to get another look. "Droids, not many thankfully." He said to himself as he returned to his position behind the rubble. He placed his left hand against the ground and the hand scuttled off on it's own, heading toward the closest droid. If he ould get his hand on one he would be able to shut it down and hopefully the others along with it. The hand positioned itself in the trajectory path of one of the droids and then launched itself off the ground and into the air. It wrapped itself around the droid and locked it's joints to prevent escape. It landed with a dull thud as Fulgur extended his stump and the hand began to snake across the ground back towards it's owner.

The droid wobbled crazily, trying too escape the kidnapper grasp within it's power it conducted a electric current within the outer layers of it's metal ball body while trying to escape. Meanwhile all the other droids continued their search Obsidian slowly walked ahead, following her droids while she stayed behind for safety measures. "So many pillars...hopefully some of them would work or better yet have some parts that still remain functional, worse case possible none of these will work but i can still salvage them.." Obsidian pondered, beginning her train of thought of how too communicate to homeworld.
As the trapped droid continued to struggled it initiated a help signal back too Obsidian's droid monitor pad which is located on her left arm.
Obsidian snapped out of her train of thought and quickly brought her droid monitor pad up to view. A small red light flickered within the screen, indicating that one of her droids is being attacked. "Droids! cease what you're doing and proceed to search and contain protocol!" She placed her hands on her gem while her droids floated in mid-air for a second and began to float around the area, multiple clicks was heard as something inside of the droids interior. It wasn't too long before they could find the uninvited guest.
"Cease what you're doing and proceed to search and contain protocol!" Fulgurs hand fought and struggles against the droid in it's attempt to escape but is brought to Fulgur regardless. Upon his hand returning to its proper place Fulgur looks at droid briefly and immediately knew all of it's inner workings and every detail of it capabilities. He quickly disables the device and and stands up to reveal himself to the droids and the gem that had arrived. "Excuse me, but I believe this is yours." He said shaking the device and taking a few steps away from his cover to be more in the open. "Now what could someone like you, be doing in a place like this?"
He rocked on his feet a bit and looked over the droid before looking back at the gem. "I'd recognize those marking anywhere. Homeworld scientist, high end if I'm correct. Served under Yellow Diamond, yes?" He spoke coldly and kept his gaze locked on the Gem he spoke to. "How is that titanous piece of super compressed carbon these days. Still oppressing gems and shooting failed projects into the depths of space." His gaze went from it's standard neutral expression to a deep scowl when saying 'failed' and then drops the droid he was holding. He placed his foot on the droid and started to put pressure on it. "Well pleasantry's aside..." Fulgur then slammed his foot down to smash the droid beneath him. "...what brings you to earth?"

"How is that titanous piece of super compressed carbon these days. Still oppressing gems and shooting failed projects into the depths of space." Obsidian face turned from delight to disgust, How dare he insult Yellow Diamond! Thought Obsidian. Obsidian noticed the gem's scowl as he mentioned "failed" projects...this brought Obsidian's attention. Meanwhile the droids spotted the gem and surrounded him, stun mechanisms engaged and ready to attack.
"Oppressing? Oh my are you one of those Crystal gems? The clods who think they're making a difference through violence and hypocrisy?" Mocked Obsidian, care very little about both sides of the war. She only cared about the residents and the well being of her planet, Homeworld. "And as for shooting failed projects into space...we kinda did the opposite of that actually. I've stopped the order of disposing failed experiments into space and instead, believe it or not as soon i came into command of the Science and technology division i've made sure our projects we're successful! how? By simply testing our completely projects on the failed ones." She grinned, testing the gem too see if she can able to get a reaction of him by using the word Failed in more harsher terms.
"...what brings you to earth?"
"I'm curious, how long has it been since you left Homeworld?" Obsidian questioned the gem this time, ignoring his question for now.
"Now, now i will answer you as soon you answer mine. I'm just curious that's all."
"I'm just curious that's all." Fulgur glare turned to a twisted grin as he listened to the gem speak. He looked down as he ground the droid beneath his foot and chuckled. "Well, I suppose that since you've taken to recycling I can't be too terribly upset since that work is getting used constructively." Fulgur lifted his head and kept his head facing forward but shifted his eyes to get a feel for where the droids had taken position around him. "And as for where my alliance sit, I'm not quite a crystal gem, but I do care about what this world has to offer. And I have no intent of leaving any time soon, or allowing anything to happen to it anytime soon." Fulgur stared walking towards the gem at a slow leisurely pace and resumed looking at the gem.
"And as for my last visit to home world. I wouldn't honestly know, you kind of loose track of time when you're drifting through the infinite void. Beautiful view for the parts I was conscious due to the cold shutting my systems down for a majority of my trip. Though as for how long I've been here on Earth, I'm bordering on a thousand years. Oh and since I know you're going to ask, Royal Asscher Cut, clarity S I. Maybe that'll help you identify what batch I was part of if you happen to know the project I was in." Fulgur stopped about a dozen feet from the gem and crossed his arms. "That's a bit of my backstory. What about you?"
Post by The Scientist, Obsidian on Feb 9, 2016 2:29:34 GMT
"Royal Asscher Cut, clarity S I. " Obsidian chuckled but soon broke into a laugh fit. "Oh! You were in the beginning stages of the project, simply divine!" She giggled, walking around the surrounded gem.
"It took many centuries to even try to get 1% correct during that project...Oh it's funny...Funny that how many gems were shattered during that project." She looked at her hand, looking over her nails as she continued to walk and talk to the gem. " From volunteers to traitors and finally to capture gems...how many did we killed during that project...Such a shame isn't it?" She smiled at the gem, having no disregard toward the gems lives that were lost during that project.
"What's even funnier than that, is that fact that you're looking at the gem who revived and continued that very same project till this day!" Her smile soon became twisted, you can feel the dread from her eyes and smile. Her eyes become mirrors, staring into the depths of absolute despair. Her smile could only echo the screams of the murdered gems for you...Looking at her now...was just pure...madness.
"That's a bit of my backstory. What about you?"
"Surely, you don't recall...The Mad Scientist?" She paused for 2 minutes exact to let this sink in.
"I, Obsidian, the Mad Scientist." She bowed gracefully and in some sort of way...mockingly. "You've heard of my other projects no? The weapons that homeworld uses for defense, that was yours truely~" She giggled. she stopped walking and just looked directly at the gem.
" Troops with some modifications, other types of machines that can also cause shattering, some variants of droids, Faster variants of transport ships, and the big incident that almost got me killed...The great fusion incident, Forcing 3 gems or more to create a being so powerful that it can rival the mere powers of the Diamonds, sadly the conclusion came out to be some ugly blob that couldn't do any of the basic functions of a gem, walk, speak, and even see! It was just there... staying in one place. A blob that cannot move nor cannot speak. I remember vividly the blob was crying, i joke you not! Crying! from it's eyeholes and within the eyeholes was fog! Crying without the ability to speak, move, nor see. heh, good thing we shattered it compeltely." She laughed, making as if that incident was nothing but a joke.
"Crying without the ability to speak, move, nor see. heh, good thing we shattered it compeltely." Fulgur listened intently and kept walking so that the gem and himself were going in circles. He was disgusted with what the gem said and had to push the imagery into the back of his mind. What he endured when we was back on Homeworld came flooding back to him, memories that had long been blocked out were now as vivid as if they had happened yesterday. His face locked into a grin with no joy behind it as he walked and he couldn't stop the tears from running down his face. His body ached as he moved but his stepped did not slow and his movements did not change or show any indication of discomfort.
Every machine he was put through, every face that stared at him from behind glass walls as he was used and abuse, and the unimaginable pain of having his physical being over written to allow the augments to be mounted to his body. All of it boomed and echoed inside his head. All of a sudden he stops his pacing and looks at the ground, still grinning, his eyes still leaking. It was more than any gem in their near infinite life spans should have to endure, and yet he had survived. He he stood, thousands of years after the fact and he was still up right and alive as any other gem or human or any creature on Earth alike. As much as he was reliving everything he had suffered through, he realized that the gem before him, in their vain attempts to disturb and warp him, had given him a glimmer of hope. He closed his eyes and chuckled a bit softly before speaking.
"So you're a failure too. A fraud, an idiot who decided to slap some gems together and play with things you didn't understand and call it science?" Fulgur chuckled more and it got louder and louder and it interrupted in a deep belly laugh like he had just been told the last joke anyone would hear as the universe breathed it last breath. He wiped his eyes as his laugh subsided and looked back at Obsidian with a grin that could light up the world even on the darkest night. "As for your title of mad scientist, I've never heard of you before. Sounds like something that would be used in a poor quality movie that humans mock after watching. I guess those marking on your uniform are worthless since you've given away that you have no idea what you're doing." Fulgur adjusts his jacket a bit and wipes his face clear of any remaining moisture that had escaped his eyes.
"Cause if you did, you'd have gone out of your way to know everything about my file, since if there was only a one percent success rate, I'd be the most pristine example of what to do right." He intentionally mimics Obsidians motions by looking at his left hand and lightly rubbing the gem mounted in it. "My mental capabilities are beyond the sum of the parts that went into my design. My incomplete physical augments still make me stronger than even the most perfectly cooked Jasper. And my body..." He stops and tears his jacket off of his body leaving his entire torso exposed. His entire left arm was made of the same material as his hand and it extended to cover most of his shoulder. "...has no deformations or unwanted marks. Beyond my rather dashing star that I should be thankful for."
Fulgur turned to show the star shaped mark on his right arm that was formed out of electrical scarring. "I may have been terrified of your presence at first, but now all I feel is joy." Fulgurs gem glows as he pulls both of his shields at the same time resulting in a sound similar to a lightning strike as they snap into place against his arms. "Joy over the fact that I get to destroy a gem that has caused so much pain to others and wasted so many lives." He smiled as he took a wide fighting stance and stared Obsidian down. "And if I didn't fit the title of Crystal Gem, then I'm gonna earn it today."

"So you're a failure too. A fraud, an idiot who decided to slap some gems together and play with things you didn't understand and call it science?" She growled, summoning her weapon at an instant. She absolutely hated when clods like him decided to insult her intelligence. An idiot?! I'm going to make that gem relive his memories once again!
"You filthy CLOD!" She yelled, insulting her intelligence was one way to get her seriously mad. "Clearly morons like you wouldn't understand what we gems have to do to achieve "perfect" Sacrificing lives, like yours and many other gems that aren't important is only a small..measly...tragedy!" Obsidian quickly ordered one of her droids to find the pillar that is able to send communication without getting destroyed, It flew off away from the battle and frantically searched for the pillar.
"As for your title of mad scientist, I've never heard of you before. Sounds like something that would be used in a poor quality movie that humans mock after watching. I guess those marking on your uniform are worthless since you've given away that you have no idea what you're doing." From that she only broke into a fit of laughter but this wasn't just a laughter as if someone told a funny joke no, it was a laughter of pure sinister. "You think my title is nothing? just because i told you the first incident i had with the LAW" She paused once more, looking at her with those eyes that contain no mercy for any being and gem.
"Fine, i'll let you on a little secret~" She winked at him just to insult his heroic hearty banter.
"You think a scientist, like me is going to get sent to earth just over a blob?...No, I was creating Ultima and let me tell you. What a project that was! So many, many, MANY lives were lost during that project." She grinned at the gem once more.
"Wanna know how much exactly lives were lost?" She paused.
"Can you count the seconds you've been here on earth ever since you left HomeWorld?" Her twist smile remained and only a slight fit of chuckles were heard because of her own sick joke.
"My mental capabilities are beyond the sum of the parts that went into my design. My incomplete physical augments still make me stronger than even the most perfectly cooked Jasper. And my body..." Oh great, an incomplete gem that thinks it's imperfection is stronger than most gems.. Obsidian nearly gagged at his body. "C'mon, do you think a incomplete gem like can actually do anything scary! You're nothing, just like most of your friends were when i came along~"
Obsidian did a back flip, exiting out of the circle she was in. "Stun him or kill him, either way just do it!" She ordered her droids to attack the gem, shooting electricity from it's metal body toward the gem, a possibility that this could either stun him enough for him to revert into a gem or best case idea would be that this shock would be too much to handle and his mechanical parts would blow up on him! If this plan wasn't going too work then surely it's a good idea that she has a plan B ready to be launched, She frowned at his choice of words. " Crystal Gem? Please, you're doing better off without them. They'll just get you killed in a pointless war and won't even bring up your name after a couple of years, give or take."
"They'll just get you killed in a pointless war and won't even bring up your name after a couple of years, give or take." Fulgur simply stood and watched as Obsidian flipped out of the circle of droids and made not attempts to avoid the droids assault. The lighting fired from the machines struck true and Fulgur was consumed by the crackling energy, but once the assault stopped, there he stood unfazed. "Sorry, but a bit of static is not even gonna come close to disturbing my glorious physique." One of the many modifications he had made to his augments over the years was installing a system of capacitors for being able to carry extra energy around like a camel carries water. And as a fail safe to prevent the capacitors from over filling, he routed he systems so over flow would be sent into his left hand and expelled the same way that the droids had attacked him with.
Fulgur lifted his left hand and aimed it's open palm towards the droid that had broken away to go scan the rubble and massive bolt of lightning erupted from his hand and blasted the droid to pieces in mid air. "Sorry there, but you really should focus on your work before getting into side projects." He pointed his open palm at where Obsidian had landed and fired another bolt of lighting at her, aiming for center mass. With this second blast the power he had gotten from the droids attack was expended. Once the crackling dispersed he tightened his grip on his weapon and charged towards Obsidian was, if the bolt had struck she would have poofed, if she dodged it, she was gonna have a hard time getting her footing back with him bearing down on her.

By mere luck she slipped on the landing, falling on her posterior from the surprise attack, missing the thundering attack by over her head. "K-keh?! All of you find that pillar and escape once you do!" She commanded her last order, raising her weapon up as a means of defense. She would try and defend herself from the independing attacks by merely blocking some of them and rolling out of the way, if this happens she tries to counterattack with her Maquahuit, swinging with the sharp jagged side of the weapon, hoping to inflict some damage to the mechanical parts or the face of the gem. The only problem with her counteract, if the gem managed to block it, Obsidian's attack leaves her right side of the body completely exposed.
If the gem does not take this opportunity to strike then Obsidian will continue to attack with her barrage of quick and sharp attacks.
(( Sorry that this was short but i'm not bad in Battle rp's. It's just this is my first time doing this type of rp battle.))
"All of you find that pillar and escape once you do!" Fulgur was on Obsidian in moments and was easily able to sidestep from the first couple swings. He stepped into the attempt at a counter attack and easily smashed his shield against the blade with his left hand knocking her defense right open. He gripped his shield tightly in his right hand and swung with as much force as he could muster while letting out a bellowing yell. Ever bit of pain that Obsidian had forcibly reminded him of was going into the swing and he was fully intent and making sure she felt it. A grin of both pain and relief spread across his face and everything seemed to slow down in his head as the bladed edge of his shield approached Obsidians side.
Post by The Scientist, Obsidian on Feb 10, 2016 1:00:48 GMT
Obsidian recoiled back from the gem, agonizing in pain from that attack. Obsidian once again attacked the other gem, swinging at all sides with her Maquahuitl, one by one, her blade scraped with the shields of the gem, She slid to the side, with her body leaning towards the ground from that slide she swung with all her might toward the knee joint of the gem's leg, if connected, the gem would feel tons amount of pain from the weapon sharp jagged mini Obsidian shards. Now, hopefully that the gem is staggered from that attack, Obsidian quickly moves on to the advantage, with a scream she sends swings toward the gem's head with her Maquahuitl. After the fifth attack Obsidian managed to do another blackflip, swinging her weapon in mid-air toward the stumbled gem, sending the weapon's Obsidian shards from the weapon to the gem.
Fulgur was able to drop his one of his shields down and keep the blade from striking his leg and bring his other shield up to protect his face. He took a swipe at Obsidian as she was flipping away only to miss and be caught by a few of the spikes fired from her weapon before he could bring his guard up. A couple cuts to the face and his right arm were the real damage and anything that hit his augmented limbs simply bounced off or stuck into the machinery only to be shaken out when he dropped his guard to move towards Obsidian. Analysis: Wild swing and repeated retreat, combat experience limited, maintain pressure and keep vigilant for further droid interference.
His system feed Fulgur this information as he readied his next series of strike. He predicted where she was gonna land and positioned himself to start pushing her into the ruble to throw off her footing. Right as Obsidian landed Fuglur opened up with a repeated volley of very quick jabs while stepping forward, making sure to vary his blows across her upper torso and head to keep her on the defensive in an attempt to leave no room for her to strike. Having already spent an extended period of time in the ruins of the communications hub his mental map of the area fed him the location of every fleck of stone on the ground so he was sure footed with each step without having to take his eyes off Obsidian.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
