Name: Kuur's Daggers
Gem sealed within it: Pietersite. The Gem isn't set in the weapon like most. The gem was pulverized into a liquid and coated over a existing weapon.
Appearance:
Sentient: Partially.
If sentient, personality: Not much of the mind that once belonged to this Gem remains. What is left is hate, misery and the desire to cause harm. Excessively violent and primal emotions that rage like a storm radiate from this artifact. The behavioral traits of this Gem are the source of the abilities it grants the bearer.
History: Long ago there was a Pietersite who worked under Yellow Diamond as a information specialist. He was an informent that reported directly to his Diamond and oversaw both external and internal affairs of various Gem operations, collecting intelligence. Amongst the many tasks he was given one was to ensure that the Gem social hierarchy remained segregated. At any hint of fraternization he took it upon himself to interrogate Gems using excessively cruel methods that occasionally resulted in the shattering of innocent Gems. He took immense pleasure in hurting others and he became infamous for it.
It wasn't known why Pietersite so ferociously enforced the hierarchy but some assumed it was out of fear. Fear of losing a status he shouldn't have. His gemtype was typically very low on the chain, being basic administrative workers taking care of mundane paperwork. This particular Pietersite had proven his worth by underhandedly stealing credit from others and shattering those in his way. These murders set the foundation for his blasphemous climb to a higher status. Why the Diamonds allowed this was unclear.
Many attempted to get him removed from his position but their requests fell on apathetic ears. In fact Yellow Diamond enjoyed the fear Pietersite inspired for she thought it would keep rebellious Gems from acting out of line. This was the norm until Pietersite did something that even the Diamonds could not ignore. The Gem had taken it upon himself to clense Homeworld of imperfect Gems. Unfortunately he targeted one to many high profile Gems and became a hindrance to the Diamonds plans. A squad of Quartz were dispatched to apprehend the Pietersite but when he was encountered he fought back with otherworldly tenacity. He was able to avoid capture until he found himself cornered by special force Jaspers. Not wanting to give anyone the honours of taking him out he shattered his own gem in defiance. The shards were unceremoniously thrown into a junk yard. A over confident lowlife overstepping his boundaries society put in place. He was not missed.
Not missed by anyone but one. An unknown Gem saw worth in the shards and sought to utilize the blood thirsty Gem for a weapon. The shards were ground up and used to coat a pair of bladed gauntlets. It isn't known what they were used for but eventually they found their way to Earth. They now reside forgotten inside the Burning Room, bubbled by someone long ago.
Ability: The artifact endows its bearer with high confidence and a strong will. A sense of being greater than you are coupled with a warrior's spirit enables the bearer to push beyond their mental limitations to allow the bearer to use their entire potential in combat increasing your combat efficiency. Even Gems without combat experience can become dangerous warriors. It strengthens your resolve.
Prolonged use causes the bearer to act more aggressively and take bigger risks. Violent behaviour and distrust becoming more frequent the longer its worn. The bearer becomes obsessed with combat and may actively seek conflict. Like a drug it infects a Gem's mind compelling them to continue using it. The side effects can be willfully activated to utilize a berserker style of combat but such a move is unwise since as aggression rises the combat efficiency of the Gem falls.
Weak willed Gems may find themselves falling into a fugue state which they retain no memory of. During this period they may focus on a particular person, place or object and act aggressively towards it, mistaking any action towards them as a threat or personal insult.
Kuur's Daggers have sharp blades protruding from the ends that are incredibly strong that can pierce even steel. The outer side of the weapons can be used to block oncoming attacks. When held in unison they generate a forcefield around the weapons themselves that aid in blocking blows.
Owner: No one yet. (Plan to be stolen by Andradite)
