"Oh? Manifold ownership of systematic communications humans possess? Perplexing... Carbide ablest provide explanation? Singular standardized communication systems allowances effective most transmittance of data correct?" asks Pallasite, who struggles to comprehend the idea of an intelligent species such as humans having to need multiple languages across the globe when one single unified language was ideally far superior. Was there something that she was not considering perhaps?
Whatever the reasoning, Carbide would not have the chance to respond as she was forced to pull a hard maneuver with Brunhilde to avoid hitting a tree, yelling for Pallasite to hold on. Pallasite was quick to take Carbidde's advice and grabs tightly on the seat, biting her lower lip as she clutches onto her seat until the old Sherman Jumbo successfully avoided a collision. Once given the all clear from Carbide, Pallasite lets out a sigh of relief. When asked where to go next, Pallasite can only give Carbide a shrug didn't have any sort of destination for the two of them to go to.
"Destination target... uncertain... indulgence proceed?" she states with indifference.
Upon being asked if she wanted to drive the tank, Pallasite considers the offer but decides to decline for now.
"Affirmatory. Presently, Carbide continuation piloting commitment. Observing... motoring of skills legitimate." states the gem fusion, who seems to appropriate the offer based on the smile.

"Hehe, okay! Suit yourself Pallas, but you dont know what youre missing!" The tank rumbles along the open pasture in fifth gear at a rip roaring off road speed of 30 Km/ph! Obviously not built for speed, or grace, but a blast and a half none the less. As she pilots the lumbering war machine she calls back to Pallasite again, remembering her previous query regarding human languages..
"Oh! About all those languages humans have.. yeah its true that it is more expedient to have a single unified language across a species, at least I think so. But from what I understand, a few thougsand earth years ago, many groups of humans were separated by huge distances, even oceans, with no expedient way to cross those distances, so most groups developed their own ways of communicating. If you think about it, the human species here really has only gotten their act together in the past 100 or 200 years, so the languages from the largest groups have become more common. At least thats my take on it-OOF!~"
Carbide is cut off at the end of her sentence by a bit of a jolt as Hildi claws her way over top of a large fallen log, making the tank pitch up and chews with her treads for a moment, then tipping forward and crushing the log with her weight, before carrying on.
In the distance, Carbide could see the cliffs of the beaches and smell the salty air, and pulls hard on the left directional lever, steering the iron hulk towards more open terrain that lead towards the ocean. Hildi seemed to be having an easier time of it, on this harder flatter ground anyway..
Pallasite bounces up in her seat as the tank tracks chew whatever log they ran over into wood chips. Instead of immediatly having her tush hitting the seat cushion, Pallasite's bottom appears to be hovering about two inches above the seat. Pallasite herself however seemed unfazed by this, either because she hasn't noticed or it wasn't a big enough deal for her to mention it.
"Oh... presently... in progression update transition of systematic communication to simplification? Computed... statistics high for resolution soonly... estimate dou units in gross defined revolutions along hydrogen fuser designated "Sol"?" comments Pallasite, who seems to have come some sort of understanding that the human language regarding human languages.
"Carbide acquitted repository worthy note of native data... inquisition of citation coordinates?" asks Pallasite as she looks about the tank cabin aimlessly, trying to watch all the parts that she can observe work together to operate this curious machine. Her pupil seems to jerk in every such direction as she awaits and listens to Carbide's response.

Carbide hmmms for a moment, pondering Pallasite's question, she realized that in large part, she was a scout first and foremost.. albeit rather overly durable and a bit larger than your average scout.. but as such she was gifted with a natural talent and indeed a thirst to acquire new infomation and learn wherever she went. The only difference now was that she was using that information for her own purposes and not feeding it all back to superiors on Home World.
"Well what can I say Pallas? I guess I'm a scout through and through and if theres one thing we are good at, is gathering information and intelligence on all things great and small, and understanding the language and communications systems of a "relatively" intelligent alien species on an alien planet is just kinda something i did automatically. Actually it was a lot of fun, I guess I am a bit of a fan of museums and institutions of learning you could say. I just shape shift and wander right in!"
By now, her tookush had gotten a lil weary of the bouncing and the hard drivers seat, so the scout eases back on the throttle sticks and steers the tank up onto a sandy bluff overlooking the beach, but not too close to the edge, lest its weight of 84,000 human lbs cause the embankment to colapse, and send Hildi tumbling down.
"Break time Pallas my dear! I dont think my hind end wants to endure any more of that seat for a few moments, haha!" With that the scout straightens up and emerges out the drivers hatch onto the top of Hildi's hull and looks out over the beach. A few humans seemed to be already there enjoying the sand, surf and sun, and were now looking, pointing and waving excitetly at seeing the old war relic roll to a stop up on the nearby bluff.. "Ooh, seems the natives like these old machinations too Pallas!"
"Mhmmm... partake touring of establishments of learning undergo us... in futurely appointment." speaks Pallasite, clearly listening to Carbide even if her current attention appears to be preoccupied with trying to understand the mechanics of the main gun's loading mechanism.
Once they come to stop, Pallasite observes her friend announcing that it was "break time" and exits through the main tank hatch. Once Cardide was outside, she herself proceeds to levitates herself out through the hatch. Once outside the gem fusion's feet hovers a few inches above the tank mantle. Pallasite surveys her surrounding, quickly recognizing the familiar beach as she recalled finding a unorganized silica container saturated with carbonate fluid inside. When Carbide mentioned that there were humans approaching, Pallasite rotates herself in place to view the oncoming humans. Most of humans approaching appear to young, likely employed in what humans refer to as elementary school or maybe early middle school. Pallasite observes them all the best she is able now that they are all within earshot.
"Whooaaa! A real tank here on the beach? Thats sooo COOL!" speaks one young male human, who wears a distinct red cap on top of his head and is too enamored by the tank to notice the gems on top machine.
"Dude... this is best beach trip EVER!" exclaims his darker skin male human friend in green t shirt as he rubs his hands on the metal surface as if to confirm it wasn't an illusion.
"Oh can I climb on it? Can I climb on it please o please o please o please!?" screeches the smallest male child wearing nothing but blue shorts who is already in the process of trying to climb up along the tank's tracks but is struggling to pull himself on the machine itself.
"Danny!" calls out one of the young pale female with the huge mess of curly red hair who only now just caught along with her dark haired female friend "Wait for permission first! You can't just climb on people's things without permission first!" she continues.
"Huh? Oh right..." sighs the male in blue shorts called Danny as he hops himself off the tank tracks and looks both Carbide and Pallasite expectantly.
"Its... only a tank. My daddy has one too you know. Plus MY daddy's Ferrari is WAY color than this gas guzzler! Don't you agree Izzy" proudly states the dark haired girl as she playfully elbows the red haired girl accompanying her.
"Pppfft... you call your dad's armored truck a tank? This one has cannon on that that can like... blow up to smithereens! This beast is WAY cooler than your dad's stupid car Brandy." calls out the green shirt kid from before.
"Its... not that cool..." bemoans the dark hair girl named Brandy as she crosses her arms and acts like she isn't looking at the tank even when it is obviously she is looking at it fromt he corner of her eye.
Pallasite looks down to the all the children with blank expression. She ponders for a few seconds before judging that there was no real lasting harm in allowing the tiny humans to climb onto Brunhilde.
"Positvely. Ascend to contention." she announces softly to the lot in front of her.
The boys cheer in unison and they all quickly start climbing over each other to be the first try to climb to the commander's hatch on top of the tank. The two girls seem content to stand on the sand, inspecting the tank and gems themselves.
"So... ughh... did you two drive this tank here by yourself? Cause... thats really cool if you did." bashfully speaks up the messy red haired girl.
"Of course they didn't! Its only the boys who who drive tanks in those old movies." says the kid in the red hat who was the first to climb up the tank and starts to climb over to the hatch to peer what is inside.
"Nuh huh!" growls the red haired child named Izzy who stamps her bare left foot into the sand as she speaks with a tone of confidence "Girls can drive drive tanks too. They are both girls!" she says as she points to Pallasite and Carbide.
Pallasite speaks up to offer a correction.
"Correction: Carbide and Pallasite race of otherworldly conscience mineral projecting defined light hard appearance. Lacks of distinction categorization defined infant humaniod manufacturer capability." states Pallasite who does her best to carefully construct her sentence... but gets the understanding that none of them seemed to have understood her by their blank expression.
"I think seaweed head might be alien robot girl." whispered Brandy her red haired friend Izzy who has the most perplexed look on her as she is trying to figure out what the heck Pallasite meant.
Pallasite then looks to Carbide with a crooked smile that seems to be pleading for some sort of assistance.

Carbide chuckles gently towards Pallasite as the kids give her a plethora of confused and vacant stares as the wraps up her explanaiton of gems and gender. "Haha, maybe I can offer some clarity in this little matter, but just gimmie a sec here..."
The scout slithers half way into the turret through the commanders copula and pries open the breach of the old gun with a heavy metalic cla-clank, and peers inside ensuring there was no live ordinance still chambered... the odds were slim, but you can never be too careful, especially with grabby little human kids.
A second later, she wiggles herself out in reverse and stands up straight on Hildi's hull..."Okay earth human ..larvae...pups..CHILDREN, yeah thats it! as far as matters of clarification go... yes, climb all over the tank, thers not a lot you can damage I think, but just dont go sticking your touch stumps into any hatches or vents or tracks or anything, because trust me, if you break one of those things off.. I have NO idea how to re-attach those things to a human, youll be pretty much on your own there."
She watches the kids climb about for a moment or too, making all manner of vroom vroom and pew pew boom noises as they explore the old war machine. Afte a while Carbide manages to catch the attention of the girl with the messy red hair..."Hey there kid, c'mon over for a second." To Carbide's surprise a few of the others seem to follow suit as well..
"Ok, to smooth out some communications problems, she, over there, is Pallasite, and she is a fusion, not a space robot girl, and I am Carbide, and just as much an alien as she is. As for the driving of the tank, Yes.. we did drive the tank here all on our own, we even got it up and running again too. Now, we may not be girls in the same squishy organic meat and bones sense that you are, kid, but the way our minds work for the most part is rather "GIRL" in nature and because of that the way our bodies look reflects that. We can change shape quite a bit and look like lotsa stuff, but I guess our 'default' mental image of our selves and how we want to feel and look and be, gets made real as our bodies appear now, made of hard light, that can act like and mimic organic and inorganic material. The real Pallasite and Carbide reside in our gem cores in sort of a... mind-y, soul-y, conciousness sort of thing. Does that make sense to you guys?"
She straightens up and pats the tank on her hull..."But as for girls driving tanks... oh yeah, we can drive the ever living starlight outta them, and anything else we want, so dont let anybody tell ya otherwise! Hehe"
"AWESOME!" cheer all of the boys in unison as they each clamored onto the machine. Danny and the boy in red cap climb into onto the hatch and make all sorts of car noises while their friend in the green shirt sits on the main gun as if he was cowboy riding a horse.
The two girls wait for a moment before climbing onto the tank as well. The dark haired Brandy to settle for sitting on the tank trying to act cool while the red haired Izzy seems enthralled by the two gems more so than the tank, as if she was the only one to really see them as the strange alien beings that they truly were. The girl jumps a little when Carbide calls for her but makes her way over to listen to the heavy scout gem. She seems to listen to Carbide attentively, nodding her head every once in while to confirm that she was following what Carbide was speaking. Her friend Brandy, having nothing better to do, joins in the conversation as does the boy in blue shorts named Danny. The other two boys climb down the hatch, followed Pallasite who watches their every movement inside the vehicle. The three of them then proceed to take about the different mechanisms within the tank's exterior while Carbide gets various response from the children listening to her.
"Haaa!" bellows the red haired girl as she points to Carbide, then turns her whole body to the tank hatch.
"Hear that Tim and Hector!? Girls CAN drive tanks too!" loudly proclaims Izzy who seems to revel in being right.
"Whatever Izzy." both of the boys called out in unison.
Annoyed, Izzy goes back to sitting in front of Carbide.
"Huh... so you like... magical gem girls? OH like in those old cartoons from Japan right! Thats like... 10 times more amazing!" speaks up Izzy as she clasps her hands together.
"Yeah! Thats like... thats really cool..." says Danny as stares at Carbide in amazement.
"... magical gem people? Are you like... those weird nerds who play dress up?" inquires the Brandy who seems suspicious of Carbide's claims.
"Oh oh oh! Is there a way that I can magical gem girl too!? Like... do I have to go one quest to find an enchanted gem that will allow me to become like you guys?" asks Izzy as she looks pleadingly to Carbide
"Oh do you think I can be... Isabella the Magical Pearl cause pearls are my birthstone? Thats how it works right?" continues Izzy, now giving Carbide a questing look.
At the moment Pallasite pops her head out from the tank hatch in a manner similar to gopher emerging from its borrow.
"Improbable!~ Carbon complex humans intransmutable to gem species! Procreation of gems nessacitate regional sowing of applicable geosphere. Notion of intermixing human lifeform and gem... frivolous." states Pallasite in a carefree tone before popping head back down to belly of the tank as she continues her conversation with the other two boys below.
"Oh... so I guess thats a no then..." says Izzy, evidently disappointed as she lowers her head somewhat.
"Heh... I think your more like Ruby cause of your red hair... or may pyrite cause your so easy to fool" snorts Brandy as she teases her friend
"Hey! Why are you always a butthead? If you were a magical gem... you would be coal cause you stink!" pouts Izzy as she a cross her arms and gives Brandy a disdainful expression.
"Well your always so gullible... sheesh." states Brandy dismissively as she eyes Carbide.
"Anyway, we both know that would be a Diamond because I'm am beautiful and radiant~" speaks Brandy in a rather pompous tone while swishing her hair that on does modeling for shampoo commercials.
The little boy in between the girls look to the both of them before finally opening his mouths.
"So... what magical gem should I be? Boys are allowed to be magical gems too right?" he asks, somewhat timidly.
Both girls give him a good hard look before both speaking in unison: "Sapphire."
The two young ladies giggle, while the boy seemingly goes along with their response "Well... I do like blue..." he quietly mutters to himself.

Carbide can't help but let a giggle slip from her lips. Human children sure we're interesting when you got them out of town and out into the wilds of their own planet. Their curiosity seemed to magnify tenfold, and to a gem who's primary precept was to seek information, seeing this made her smile. She also knew that since Earth was going to be her home for a long time as well as for a great deal of other gems, she knew that if there was to be some positive relationship with the native humans, that it would have to be the new generations of the species that they would have to foster trust with. When you're a being that ages in geological time, it pays to look to the future too!
Carbide pops back to attention when she hears the Brandy vent their suspicions and skepticism to the magical nature of gems...."Ooh what's this? A naysayer? Well, we sure aren't talking about wearing costumes..."
With that Carbide turns and faces her friend, and her former begins to glow and pulse, changing its a morphing void of light, changing size and shape until finally resolidifying her form as a near perfect mimic of Pallasite's gem form, although keyed to Carbide's colours and not able to hover the way her fusion friend can. She hops up onto Hildi's hull and leans against Pallas, placing a hand on her shoulder and smiling, complete with the fast roving tendencies of the Real Pallasite's eye, then gives a little bow to the kids below.
"THAT IS SO AWESOME!" screams Izzy, practically fangirling
"Yeah! Totally awesome!" cheers her companion Danny
Brandy however, remains silent as she stares at Carbide, who looks exactly like Pallasite, with a mixture of wonder and disbelief.
Pallasite looks between the the children, studying their unique reactions to Carbide altering her physical form before focusing her attention onto Carbide.
"Humans miniaturized express astonishment. Was gem physiology elaboration insufficient?" Pallasite asks Carbide, surprised that the kids found her suddenly changing her appearance to be surprising considering that they already explained that their body's can take on any appearance considering its but a hard light projection emitted by their gemstones.
Suddenly, the tank suddenly roars to life as the engine is fired up.
"Oh! Cool! Carlos! I FOUND THE BUTTON THAT STARTS UP THE TANK!" called out the body wearing the red cap who was still inside the tank along with his friend in the green shirt.
"Neat! That is really neat Sebastian! I wonder which of these pedals moves it forward?" responds the Carlos, who was presumably inside the tank with the red-capped child named Sebastian.
"SEBASTIAN WAIT-" cried out Carlos but it was too late as the tank lurches itself forward to the ocean. The tank suddenly moving forward causes the children on the back of the tank to lose their balance and fall off and onto the beach sand that cushions their fall.
Pallasite, hovering ever so slightly above the hatch as she was posing with Carbide was unaffected as she continues to levitate in the exact spot fore the tank moved from under her feet. She wasn't sure about Carbide but at the moment she could only watch as the tank inches its way ocean as she was slow to react.
"DUDE! YOUR GOING INTO OCEAN! HIT THE BREAKS OR SOMETHING!?" cried out Carlos as he demands his friend to stop the tank
"I'M TRYING! I'M TRYING!" screamed Sebastian
The tank suddenly halts advance... instead racing backwards towards the three children who had fallen off the tank earlier who are too busy wiping sand from their eyes to react at the approaching danger!
Pallasite single eye widens, gasping audibility as she covers her mouth with her hands as the three children scream as the threatens to run them over.
((Going to give Carbide a chance to react and attempt save the children and/or stop the tank. Otherwise Pallas will react to stop the tank. Have fun!))

Carbide finds herself staring blankly for a split second from where she lay on her back, on the sand, from where she was rather certain a tank once served as her podium only scant few second ago. A sputtering rumble cuts the relative calm of the wind and waves of the beach. Even the sound of the pesky seagulls was drowned out as the scout watched the tank roar to life and its tracks engage the sand, lurching towards the water and sending the children tumbling off the back of its hull. From inside the tank she could hear the sounds of a few very upset children who obviously had no idea what they were doing or how to control the old machine.
Carbide hops to her feet and in a flash has resumed her normal form, and breaks out into a dash after the machine, trying to think of how to stop such a behemoth on sandy terrain, when she hears the transmission clunk in protest as the war machine pitches forwards and stops, however the split second of relief is quickly replaced with a redoubled sense of dread as the treads begin to reverse, albeit rather slowly, compared to its forward motion. Thank goodness these old tanks were mighty slow in reverse gear, but still the kids were not done picking themselves up, and appeared to be either scrambling or freezing in panic as Hildi continued her rearwards advance.
It was times like this that Carbide was glad that her weapon was a heavy glorified pipe.. because in a blink the scout had summoned the large bulky weapon and lept to the side of Hildi's left tread assembly and jammed the heavy weapon into a gap between the rollers, binding up the treads and hobbling the tank. Not wasting a second to gloat, she keeps moving and scoops up two of the kids and has them airborne in an instant, sailing towards Pallasite's arms.. "Pallas! Catch!"
With its tread bound up, the tank begins to alter its course, dragging the stuck mechanism of its treads through the sand like a heavy one sided emergency break, causing the heavy iron lady to pitch into a gradual repeating donut in the sand. Carbide grabs the last pair of kids under each arm, and does a roll out of the way but as she straightens up on her knees and lets the kids drop rather ingloriously onto the sand behind her, the heavy iron tailpipe of the tank swings by and beans the scout right in the nose, breaking her visor and leaving her with a black face full of soot and a sore nose, once again flat on her back in the sand.. " OW!! Fuck Me!! .. Oh C'mon Hildi, that's not even fair!" She reaches up and grabs onto the tank with one hand and lets its spinning motion help her up onto its hull, just in time to teeter and sway as the ballistic cudgel in the tanks tread cant take any more strain and crack and caves in, vanishing in a sparkle as the freed tread resumes motion. Up on the turret, Carbide's boots can be seen disappearing, as she enters the tank and lands on her head at the feet of the kids... "Hey there Kids... didn't know you could drive a tank! It ll be ok!"
She rolls over and scrambles onto her belly enough to reach out to mash the clutch pedal with one hand.. the engine, now free of its gearing, revs high, then as carbide releases the clutch the tank bucks and jolts and then sputters and halts, as the purposeful bad clutch work, stalls out the engine.. "Oh please please please say we didn't hit anyone..." the scout repeats to herself as she sheepishly peers her head out the hatch to check on Pallas and the kids..
Rat: I'm gonna try my darnedest. Posted an ad for RP in the Character Plot area, so alls I gotta do now is wait I think?

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
