This is my final goodbye...
Aqua Star snapped out of her meditation with a small yelp of surprise. Those words... That voice! They were so familiar, but so distant... Aqua repeated the sentence in her mind, her grip around it becoming stronger with each replay. She looked up at the night sky, easily finding the remnants of the nova that birthed her.
She floated away, becoming another bright, glittering blue star in the black sky...
Aqua Star covered her ears, gasping in fear as the scene played in her mind. She felt a pull in her gut, almost like a compass, and without knowing why, Aquamarine Star suddenly jumped up and ran to where the needle was pointing. Her silver eyes were wild, her hair flowing behind her as she ran. She didn't stop until she had finally reached her destination; where her life ended and began; the Lunar Sea Spire. But how could she know that?
"Why?!" Aqua cried. "Why here?!"
She beat her fists against the floor, and then heard a small tinkling sound. Aqua Star looked up, clearing the tears from her eyes to see small, sparkling blue objects littering the floor. She stood up and walked towards them, then picked one up. It was a shard of aquamarine. Aqua shrieked and flung it away in horror.
"It can't be..." She whispered, touching her own gemstone.
Yet she knew it was true. The shards... It was what remained of her past self. With shaky hands, Aqua Star gathered the shards, holding them to her chest. Unable to speak, she sank to her knees, cradling the shards, her tears falling like rain.
"Who was I?" She finally murmured. "Who am I?"
She wears going to have to pick up the pieces of her past. But to do so, she would have to find the Gems who knew her.
