Jeremejevite was losing hope. He fiddled with different switches and buttons on the ship's control panel, but the best he was getting was a faint, glitchy hum. He moaned in despair and fell to his knees. Of course he didn't know what to do. He was a research specialist! He wasn't made to figure out how to work with technology. "Oh, of all Gems to be stuck here on this wretched planet, why me?!" He cried dramatically. "I'll be here forever, with no way to contact my beloved Blue Diamond..." He put his hand to his head and sighed loudly. "I'm going to die here," he declared. "Here I will stay until some wild beast comes to shatter me, or maybe my misfortune will cause some other catastrophic way to bring about my inevitable end..." He pouted for some time, then suddenly sat up. Something was watching him. Or... He thought with a shiver, Is it someone?
The soft pattering of bare feet upon cold stone drifted through the corridor leading to the chamber the jeremejevite sat in. The footfalls increased in volume by degrees, echoing through the empty derelict ship, until at last the sound seemed to come from within the chamber itself. Two points of chartreuse light appeared in the shadowed doorway to the corridor, the eyes that the jeremejevite had felt upon his form…
…Without pause or caution, Brimstone stepped into the chamber. Walking at a casual pace and her hands clasped comfortably behind her head, she appeared to be out for nothing more than a pleasant mid-afternoon stroll. Her glowing eyes wandered about the chamber as she sauntered in, taking in the dilapidated state of the various control panels and the elegant decay of the room - and appearing to not take notice of the jeremejevite upon the floor. She sauntered up to the cowering blue figure, stopping to loom over him. As her predatory gaze took in his features, her hands drifted to rest upon her hips and a grin stretched across her face to reveal her many jagged teeth. He remained her greatly of the Blue Diamond scientists she worked under in the past - petite, weak bodied, mouthy gems that had a proclivity for talking over her head and viewing of sulfurs as feral rubes. What a delight to stumble across such a gem with a mote of fear in his eyes.
“Whatcha doin’?” Brimstone rasped, her voice weighted by an authoritative tone that accused the jeremejevite of trespassing at best and sabotage at worst.
Jeremy looked around frantically as he heard footsteps, distant at first, then growing closer. He summoned his scepter, wielding it with shaking hands. The footsteps grew louder, until Jeremy saw a figure out of the corner of his eye. He turned around with a tiny yelp. The Gem casually walked in, her eyes drifting around the room. Jeremy's knees shook as she approached him. She was absolutely terrifying, and the toothy smile she gave him did nothing to calm his nerves. "Whatcha doin'?" She asked. Jeremy stepped backwards, bumping into the control panel. "N-n-nothing," he stammered. "If th-this is y-your territory, I c-can leave." He began to step around the Gem, sweat running down the back of his neck. She was more frightening than an Ocean Jasper...
