Name: Pebble Facet V563 - Cut N32
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: 13 maybe?
Gemstone: Granite
Gemstone Location: in her mouth
Faction: Homeworld
Corrupted:nope
Appearance:
(I know it's not the style of the series, and it's not a great "artwork", but I hope you guys get the idea)
Pebble has grey skin, white hair and has a darkened visor in front of her eyes. Her pupils appear hollow and her teeth are pointy.
She's quite a short gem, being only about 1,40m in height.
Personality: Pebble is often decribed as an apathetic gem who is not showing emotions a lot, is hard to talk to and doesn't seem to smile a whole lot.
She's able to endure a lot, both physically and mentally, caused from being a major pushover all her life. Regardless of that she's pretty obedient, usually not talking back and not questioning any orders. That might have helped her to climb the ranks of gem-society for a bit, wouldn't she be kinda stupid, lazy and especially very gullible, making her unsuitable for more complicated missions.
It's hard to really hurt her feelings, as she's tough as a rock. But when one should manage to hurt her, she'll be very vengeful. She never experienced a lot more than war and being pushed around, so cruelty is not unknown to her. In fact, cruelty and brutality are the only ways she knows to fight back, or to prove her point. The fact that, compared to other gems, she's physically pretty weak doesn't stop her from that.
Likes/Dislikes:
+ having quiet time
+ being lazy
+ the beauty of planets, almost any sort
- spacetravel (she prefers not to be in a starship)
- insults concerning her friends
- bragging
Fears:
- losing people she got attached to
- fusing
Weapon: Pebble's able to conjure a crystalline knife from her gem. It's about 30 centimeters in length, white in color and looks a little messy, with shards standing out a lot. Due to her physical weakness she's often equipped with low-tier gem-tech-weapons though, mostly simple blasters or arm-cannons.
Ability 1: Pebble is able to temporarily harden her body through meditation. This only applies to her light-body, not her gem. It's like getting a stone-skin, it mostly protects her against weak blows, anything devastating can easily poof her instantly. The effect lasts a quarter of the time meditated, with a maximum of one hour, meaning one hour of meditation grants 15 minutes, 4 hours of meditation grant the maximum of one hour. After one hour of stone-skin, Pebble has to meditate again to harden. She can meditate longer, but more than four hours of meditation are only for her to center, not having any additional effects.
During meditation she phases out from the world around her completely, not being able to perceive anything around her, even if she should be assaulted.
Ability 2: Pebble can climb any surface, like a bug.
Fusions: none yet
History:
Pebble's a product of hasty and careless kindergartening, born out of necessity in one of homeworld's more difficult crusades. Built to keep the enemy-troops from pressing forward with suicidal attacks, ambushes and the likes, she and all her "sisters" from the same origin used to spend most of their time fighting, sometimes retreating, but mostly dying. Nearly all of the other Pebbles have been shattered during that operation, but they managed to hold the enemy back long enough for homeworld to win.
Of course the constant fighting and massacres, mostly on their allies, has affected many of them, also Pebble Facet V563 - Cut N32.
After that operation Pebbles proved to be difficult to integrate into gem-society. Due to their weakness, caused by the cheap mass-production that was used to create them, most gems looked down on them, deeming them unworty to advance in ranks and mostly employing them to do menial tasks.
So the few remaining Pebbles spent most of their time after the war with cleaning and maintaining gem-technology or on simple, boring missions like minor scouting and the likes. The particular one this is about was no exception, actaually her cold personality often made it harder for her, as it seemed to frustrate her superiors at times.
Character Arcs: She'll probably manage to come out of her shell one day, depending how her story will go. Being pushed around all her life, she'll have to learn to value herself and to find a purpose in life, as she's currently just doing what life threw at her, not really having anything to believe in.
She'd be quite a good candidate to become a traitor one day, maybe even join the crystal gems should her story go into that direction somehow. Or maybe become some kinda bandit.
If her story's going the other way she could try to advance in the gem-military, being kinda experienced in war she'd make a great strategic. She'd have to undergo quite a personality-change for that one though, especially developing some sort of wit.
