Dark Spinel walked through the hall. It had been a while since he had been here. It looked just as dismal as he remembered. So far no rebels. Just some old tool forges. He walked though an open door. A few mannequins were stationed in here. Nothing special. He walked into the next room. A few big chests. He opened a few. Some stone and other oddities were there.
He sighed. Nothing was the same here. There used to be so many gems here. Now it was basically deserted. He looked around. Why was this place desolated. He was almost ready to leave if he didn't find something soon. He walked out and down the hall he hesitated as he reached the exit.
"How dull," said Peridot, walking through the abandoned forge. "Nothing interesting here. I wonder why they sent me on this mission? I guess it makes sense as a trial run. Still, couldn't they have sent me somewhere a little more...engaging?" As she toured the empty halls and dispassionately searched the empty chests, she thought she heard footsteps up ahead. "Odd, I thought I was alone here." She continued cautiously, preparing to summon her gun if necessary. The footsteps sounded fainter, so she pursued them. As the ran, she summoned her green tommy gun, holding it close. She would not be caught unprepared. Thoughts of corrupted gems passed her mind, and she shuddered. The steps sounded closer. Whatever it was was moving towards the exit.

Aya shivered, looking at the dismal place that was the old tool forge... Though right now, it didn't seem so empty, as she heard two sets of footsteps, so she ducked behind a door, holding Moonlight Onyx in her hand. "... I... I heard footsteps... were they other Gems?" She shivered again, and started poking at the Items strewn across the room, a group of tool forges for water gems in this room. "Weapons for other gems were made here... how... sad..." She picked up one of the broken items on the floor, a blue-green whip, obviously meant for a gem like Lapis Lazuli or Aquamarine... " It looks so dreary with all this grey and black that these things look so out of place..."
Dark Spinel Turned around and noticed a faint green glow. Most likely another gem but maybe someone from homeworld. He doubted it but still brandished a butcher knife from his gem. He then turned the corner, surprised to find a peridot there. But it wasn't the same as other peridots he had seen. This one was, taller. To say the least.
He quickly spat out. You there! Are you a Crystal gem? Or are you with homeworld?
He quickly reassessed the peridot. She was taller than other Peridots he had see. Her weapon seemed to be some sort of... gun? He had seen a human with one before. But this peridot's was gun was probably more advanced. The humans weren't exactly... Smart...
A Dark Spinel? Fascinating. Peridot almost forgot herself at the sight of such an unusual gem. "I'm a Crystal Gem!" she said, pointing to the star on her chest. "I mean you no harm." She still held her gun tightly, realizing he may be a homeworld gem. "Where do your allegiances lie?" She looked the gem up and down. He didn't appear to be wearing typical homeworld gem uniform. It was possible he was a spy. His weapon looked deadly. She hoped her lack of combat experience was not evident. Thankfully, as an Era 1 Peridot, she was a bit stronger than the newer, smaller, Era 2 Peridots. But would this really make a difference against a gem that was a trained warrior? What would she do if this stranger attacked her?
While this seems to be your lucky day. My loyalties rest in the Crystal Gems. To be completely honest I never expected to see a peridot on our side. Glad to have met you...
He actually was glad to have met peridot. Creating gems was always sort of intriguing to him. Even though he normally killed gems. He put his butcher knife back away into his gem.
While. What are you doing here. Some assignment from the Crystal Gems?
Dark himself was here in his free time. Hoping to get acquainted with some gems. This peridot seemed nice enough. Hopefully she wasn't here to kill him. Just trying to protect herself by pretending to be among their ranks. He shrugged that feeling off quickly.
She lowered her gun, then de-summoned it once he removed his weapon. "I'm here on assignment, yes. Though I'm not really sure what my superiors expect me to do here. 'Scout the forge' they said. 'It'll be easy,' they said. I suppose it isn't difficult, but it is certainly boring." She stood there awkwardly. What should she do now? This was all new to her. Being a rebel, going on missions, even taking on a form that SHE chose rather than the standard peridot uniform. And here was another Crystal Gem, just exploring this ruined place for pleasure. What kind of person was he. "Have you found anything of interest here?" she asked. "It all looks like abandoned rubbish to me."

Aya listened as the footsteps began to grow distant, and she heard other voices, though she was unable to make out what they were saying... "..." Aya held Onyx in her hand, and It turned into a staff, with a moonstone at the center. A few beams of light shone through the staff, and she murmured 'diffuse' under her breath. She looked at her hands, they were translucent, which meant the Diffusion had worked properly, and she was now invisible. Taking great care not to make a sound, she slowly tread towards the voices, and looked at the two gems: a Black Spinel, and a Peridot. The two seemed to be engrossed in their conversation, seeming to be friends... and from what Aya picked up from their conversation, she felt relieved that the two weren't allied with the homeworld. She let out a relieved sigh, and started to fiddle with Moonlight Onyx, which had already reverted to it's rapier form...
Nope. Pretty boring around here if you ask me. I was actually just on my way out. I checked out some of the rooms nothing. I'm fairly certain we're the only two here. I think I'll just ditch this place soon. Unlike you I have no mission here. But your welcome to come if you want.
He couldn't think of many places they could go if they did leave. The only places he might actually go is Alpha Kindergarten, The Temple, or maybe Beach City. He tried to think of the last time he had had a pleasant conversation with a peridot. Nothing was coming to mind. But this peridot was with the Crystal Gems. So that explains the niceness.
Hey do you have a nickname I could call you by? Peri maybe?
She didn't really have anything else to do. The Crystal Gems had told her to report later, and she was certain that she'd scouted the forge as thoroughly as she could. "I can come with you," she said. "Anything to get out of this dull place. Where are we going?" She thought about his question. "I'd never really thought about a nickname. I mean, technically 'Peridot' already is a shortened name, since my full designation is 'Peridot Facet-17CV3 Cut NX4.' I suppose you may call me whatever you wish." She had to admit, this gem seemed amiable enough. Most of the Crystal Gems tended to irritate her, but he hadn't done anything to bother her yet. Besides, if he could show her some place more interesting, she'd gladly follow him anywhere.
Alright. As for the nickname I think I'll call you Olive. Since thats the color of your vest. I think that we could possibly go to an old sky arena. I like it there. Lots of room to move. Unless there is some other place you would like to go?
He did like the sky arena. Some of his fondest memories were there. This Peridot was nice. He wondered what gems she had created in her day. Something was eerie about this place. He felt like someone was watching them. Well he was going to leave soon anyways. Hopefully with Olive.
While, wherever we go I'd like to go soon. I've never really liked this place.
Which was basically true. The only reason he was here was to make a new friend. Which he had accomplished! Step 2, Get out.
Post by Forge Master Para on Jan 16, 2017 4:19:40 GMT
It had been a long, long, LONG day for a certain Padparadscha. The lack of volunteers for the forge had made work nearly impossible, word hadn't spread far enough for any decent workers to come forth it seemed. It was to be expected she supposed, she had only been using the forge for a short time. A few hundred years being abandoned tended to make people forget about places like this, getting support was going to be tough. Para had warped in outside on the path leading to the forge entrance, her hair was a mess and she had scuff marks all over her form. Behind her she dragged what looked like the leg of a gem injector, a rather fed up look on her face. After all, having to go and remove a gem injector leg herself was bad enough, but to have the thing tip over and nearly smash her. Not to mention the corrupted gems it attracted that she had to run from... today was not her day.
Dragging the salvage behind her Para made her way to the forge, noticing the door was wide open. Did she forget to close it? Honestly, on a day like this she wouldn't be too surprised she forgot something minor like that. The 'lights' still seemed to be off so she was fairly sure she was still alone, dragging the bit of metal noisily behind her. She brought it into the main chamber, dropping it by the anvil towards the center. She stood up straight, working out a few aches in her back, "Heavy lifting doesn't exactly suit me..."
Her head snapped to attention, did she hear someone? She stood there silently, straining her ears to pick up what she felt she had just overheard. Not hearing anything for a few moments she nodded to herself, must be hearing things. As if anyone would be poking around this dilapidated station. Content she was alone Para moved towards the raised stone pedestal and pressed down on it, stepping back as it slid down into the floor. She didn't even bother to watch as the magma-fall began to flow, filling the walls with magma and lighting the entire main room.
She cracked her knuckles, "Time to perform!" She grabbed the salvaged drill leg and placed it on the anvil, leaving it as she walked to a locked box hidden away in the corner of the room. Digging through she eventually found the tools she needed. Returning back to the anvil with a number of things in her hands. Namely a sizable power-saw of sorts, albeit it seemed to be crafted by herself as it had a rather ornate design and was unlike any other human tool. As well she had her usual implaments which she set aside, gripping the saw in both hands she set to work on the leg. Suffice to say, the metal-on-metal sound could be heard for quite some distance.

Aya shivered as the Invisibility slowly began to wear off, one set of her hands (The pair with the Gems on their palms) was starting to become visible... when an odd Idea struck her. "ah... heh..." Since both the Peridot and the Black Spinel gems seemed to be friendly, Aya figured it would be ok to pull a harmless prank on the two gems. she moved in front of both of them, and suddenly covered the Peridot's eyes with two hands, and covered the Black Spinel's eyes with the other two hands... "Hello there~!" A giggle escaped Aya's throat, and although one set of her hands were completely visible, the other set, as well as the rest of her body were still invisible, but corporeal (meaning you can still hit her). the sound of metal grinding on the floor... and eventually a loud machine started to roar through the hallways...

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
