Off to the side of the Moonbase stood a somewhat smaller building. Its architecture was clearly new, in a similar style as the moonbase itself but on a somewhat smaller and more rectangular scale, to most this location was ignored, seldom visited by other gems who had their own goals and mission, yet despite the lack of crowds the location also tended to have a buzz of activity. With gems constantly moving out of the locations, Quartzs, Technicians, you name it.
The Jasper Gem made a small clink sound as Euclase placed it back on the table. Quickly typing something on her screen, which was now resting flat on the table as a makeshift keyboard. In her other hand was a second Peridot gem she held precariously, moving her arm outwards three of her little drones grabbed the gem and floated off and out of site. A few moments later the drone entered back into the room. This time holding a different stone. Blue, likely a Zircon due it its Triangular shape, it passed it seamlessly to Euclase as she glanced back at her screen and the other gem on the table “She is taking her time” She noted with a small click.
If this kept up she would be behind schedule, she did have other engagements to attend to, she at least hoped that the Quartz had got her message and was going to be arriving shortly.
7XB had hardly been back on the Moon base for two hours when the messenger from the Manager, Euclase, found them perched upon the ledge of a vacant cubby, delivering the order to meet her as soon as possible. That was less than five minutes ago and the hefty soldier, always striving to be prompt, traversed the entirety of the base as fast as one so large could without running, though a few of the smaller gems scurrying about had likely felt some subtle tremors.
The density of their form adjusted instantly upon stepping out of the base, feet crunching into the chalky crust of the Moon. Their eyes..Not so much, squinting momentarily to adjust to the glaring sunlight shining across the silvery surface. Their velocity increased on instinct as they descended upon the correct building: an.. Infirmery of some kind? Such a thing hardly seemed necessary, but it was not their call. A nod, which tossed their bone-bleached mop of hair, was enough to pass the guard and allow them entry quickly seeking euclase within, coming to a stoic salute before her, shoulders square.
"Ma'am. You sent for me." Clearly. "I feel inclined to inform you that my Earth mission is proceeding efficiently " no nonsense, this one, but progress had been made.
"Ahh yes" She mused "That may be why" She noted, before turning around to finally face the other gem "Ahh,right on time. Yes I did make a request for you in particular" She explained "And excellent work on the mission" She added quickly aswell.
"Regardless i called you her becau-" The gem in her hand started glowing "Of course" She muttered as she let go of the gem and stepped away as it floated into the air. The mannequin of light forming before moulding to her first appearance, then to her a second one before the skinny gem floated back down the the ground.
"Decided on a change of uniform again Zircon" Euclase questioned, with a hint of humour. The other gem seemed to blush and mumble abit before Euclase indicated for her to move out of the room "The others will catch you up on what you missed" She added as the gem exited past Clear Quartz.
"Most gems that are poofed on mission or around the Moonbase tend to be transported her for monitoring, while they tend to reform quickly and be sent on their way some" She shot a glance back out the doorway "like to take their time and use the opportunity for a change of appearance. We not too fussed on the base though as long as they display their Diamond somewhere respectable" She explained tapping on her own Diamond logo.
"Regardless I brought you her for a request and mission. To cut out a overly long explanation, its has become beneficial for me to proceed on a small venture to Earth. The primary objective being a investigation of both a Kindergarten and of the phenomena of corruption. I want to observe how the corrupted gem behave with my own eyes, and potentially capture one so i can create a full medical profile about it.Its the first step to determine how to cure it" Even while she was talking she had turning around back to her workstation and was fiddling with things on the desk, before pulling her droid and screens up into the air.
"Now where my request comes in" She turned to face the clear gem "I'm not exactly a combat based gem, so to capture and observe gems it was decided it would be beneficial to have a guard or guards. I denied the offering of any of the moonbase Quartzs, while im familiar with them most don't have the type of combat experience you have. I've read your background Clear Quartz" She let out a small smile while tapping her screen "A Pure quartz that has had a nearly flawless track record of security work on many key installations, and a personal commemoration for Yellow Diamond herself.I'm surprised at this point you have been offered a Pearl" She explained before pulling her screen down. The droids breaking apart and moving back into her pouch.
They held their respectful salute, the crossed diamond, for a long minute before the other Gem acknowledged them, the Quartz's expression unyieldingly solemn as their arms lowered to rest against their side. "Yes, I came as soon as possible, your..Euclase, ma'am. I apologise for the delay." 7XB was not a gem that ever seemed relaxed. That was not, to say, that they were ever nervous or uncomfortable, just always on edge. Definitely a serious natured gem, maybe even more so than others of their same cut (less, pure, perhaps, but they hardly took the time to think about such things.) Their dull granite eyes, naturally hawkish, focused intently upon the superior Gem's face. So drilled in were they, infact, to her words, that it almost escaped their notice as the zircon made her way past them. Almost, but they received a faint acknowledgement.
Then, though, the soldier seemed almost.. Uncomfortable? As the other Gem lauded praise upon their record. They were proud of it, of course, the very mention of their meeting with Yellow Diamond called the memory forth so vividly that it took everything they had not to reach more sheepishly, the very mention of a..A pearl causing a faint tint of blue to shade their pale features; one could only hope it was hard to see. "Well, thank you very much, ma'am," they said respectfully, though with a hint of mild humility, " I strive to do my duty to my Diamond, to Homeworld and no more. I have no.. Greater ambitions." A pearl, though? The thought was appealing. So shiny..
The prospect of a mission to the kindergarten was enticing: they had been unable to see for themselves the state of the kindergarten, only rumors and conjecture. But these..Gem creatures, 7XB had never seen anything like it. In honesty, part of them would like to keep it that way. They had a duty, though, didn't they, to do as as Yellow Diamond commanded..Which was to do as Pink Diamond commanded.
Besides, they would learn a great deal. "I would be honored, Euclase, to escort you in your mission, and assist in any way I can."
"Excellent" She replied "Well time is a wasting so lets not stall for any longer" She began moving out of the room, checking to make sure that Clear Quartz followed. "Now as I stated before, safety is still priority in this case." She quickly added aswell "So I don't want to see any major risks from you, alright. If we encounter rebels we are not to engage them either. If we see so much as a hint of any rebel we are out of there, fast" She explained as she occasionally glanced back at the other gem "Pink Diamond made that rather clear"
The doors hissed as Euclase exited the building "Oh that does remind me, since you have done guard work before, its up to your digression if you want to bring any of your rubies along for additional reinforcements." She also stated. The Rubies may beneficial in this situation to help with power, but at the same rate Rubies tended to be fairly weak when alone so if a gem, corrupted or rebel was able to separate them, either as a group or as a fusion. They may end up as more of a liability and be in danger in a fight or conflict.
Euclase already had a ship prepared for the situation, a rather deep blue wandering eye with a light pink interior that was waiting in the hangar for them to arrive. It would likely take them a few minutes to traverse to the gap between the infirmary and hangar, provided they didn't need to detour to collect a ruby or two aswell.
"Its not meant to be too complicated, the ideal situation has us tracking down a corrupted gem in the Kindergarten, poofing it without much issue and examining the primary control room in the Facet 5 Kindergarten afterwards." At least that was Euclase's theory, but who knows how the plan would actually turn out, the Earth seems to be annoyingly unpredictable.
(It is actually up to your whether you want a ruby or two along,or whether you want this just to be Euclase and Clear)
Though the Quartz soldier trailed Euclase by a respectful foot or so, they were more than capable of maintaining her brisk pace. In fact, it may be apparent to some that 7XB could likely outpace her, had they wanted. That, of course, would be less than respectful. "Of course," they agreed swiftly, "no engagements, other than the..Primary target and maintaining your safety." A low profile, in and out as quick as they could. And with minimal attention drawn.
While 7XB would certainly enjoy the combat advantage their Ruby soldiers provided, this was largely a stealthy mission, and to be brutally honest, their infiltration skills (or lack thereof) left 7XB no choice but to leave them behind: it would be a great risk to them, and the mission, and they couldn't afford any mistakes here. "Simple enough, ma'am, I feel confident we can proceed most efficiently without them." They didn't like it, having to single-handedly take down one of these beasts, but they were still just gems, right? "If we are to fly under the radar of any potential threats, give us the upper hand." Make them the hunter, hopefully. Their entrance into the pod was silent but for a faint groan as they bent themselves down in order to survive the rather low doorway. Blue, huh?
"I see" She affirmed "From recent reports it seemed like activity was rather quiet in that area"
As Euclase began moving up to the pod she let out a small 'mmm' as she made her way up the ramp. Without much thought though her gem glowed ever so slightly as she shapeshifted to a slightly shorter stature to fit within the entrance neatly and without ducking, at the same time she seemed to raise her hand to her forehead during this process. She had just changed back and dropped her hand when she heard the grunt of Clear behind her as she made her way in.She let out a small chuckle "You know you can shapeshift" She questioned lightly, before turning back around.
"Of course their are plenty of seats around" Euclase said as she glanced around the room "Unless your one of those standing types"
She seated herself down in the centre seat and control panel "Now lets see if i can still remember how to pilot these things" she added quietly as she began tapping on the screen and display. The ship seemed to rumble quietly as she started it up, the hangar hissing open as they floated up and out of it. "Hmm, this may take longer then normal, Facet 5 is just transitioning onto the light side of the planet right now so we will have to linger in orbit for a bit." She noted, electing to explain her reasoning aswell while they waited "Due to the structure of molecules in the planet's atmosphere the sky appears blue when its facing the sun. Currently the sun is only just becoming visible so the sky is still retaining a redish hue. Suffice to say if we go in now this blue camouflage will be rather useless."
Euclase hunched over the console, letting out a uncomfortable grunt while muttering about 'this blasted thing'. Her hand seemed to be fiddling with something in her hair on the right side. The tiny sound of something clicking could be heard in the near silent space of the ship interior.
"Well, you can never been too careful on a mission like this, ma'am," 7XB I insisted as they straightened up again, "especially where you're safety is concerned. A low profile is best, if you don't mind me saying." The last thing they wanted was to seem out of line, steps shadowing Euclase as she traversed the length of the pod to begin fiddling with the controls. "I..Prefer not to alter my form if I can help it." They reply with a hint of sheepishness. In the same vein as fusion, shapeshifting seemed unnatural to them somehow. "It just..Doesn't suit me." 'An insult to their intended form.', as someone put it.
They groaned, frowning slightly as the prospect of being cramped inside a pod for even longer than normal; a ship like this wasn't exactly overcrowded with just the two of them, but that didn't matter. 7XB never felt very comfortable aboard ships, and this time was no different: they practically oozed discomfort and unease. "I understand. Whatever the mission should entail."
A louder clicked echoed and a small clink occurred as Euclase pulled the Diadem of her head and placed it on the console. Letting out a small sigh as she swivelled on the chair towards the other gem. Her own blue gemstone finally being exposed in proper lighting conditions, A saturated Blue, with certain Facets being white. Clear had already seen it before when Euclase was giving the briefing but that was in a rather unlit room.
She seemed to analyse Clear Quartz, her chin resting in her hand, she let the silence hang in the air for a little while, before pipping back up "Your in less strict company you know, and we are gonna be here a while." She leant forward, letting out a tiny warm smile.
"So you can drop the stoic disposition if you want, humour me if you will. All i have gotten from you is affirmations and short replies. I figured it may be worth getting to know a bit more about my own Guard.Apart from what i have read about you" She let the offer hang in the air, if you could call it a offer. It was more a invitation to a conversation. Her stare, her gaze even didn't have a hint of malice to it. Their was a underlying kindness to it, a interest in knowing more about Clear, and who she really is. In the same way a mother found great interest and happiness in learning something new about her child or nephew.
In their past meeting, 7XB had never noting seeing Euclase's gem, come to think of it. That was, of course, until she removed her diadem, and the Quartz soldier couldn't help but look on with reserved curiosity: It was an interesting cut, one 7XB had rarely seen. Their own gem was temporarily, but unintentionally, hidden from view as arms were clasped behind their back.
A rather unexpected request caused the loss of the Gem's neutral expression, brie raising partially in furrowed surprise. "I..I apologize, ma'am?" They stuttered for a moment, oddly at a loss of what to say until Euclase attempted to put them at ease. "I..Well, I don't really know what else I could tell you about myself. Off record, I mean. I'm afraid there isn't much else to tell, ma-err Euclase." They certainly seemed less formal, though that was perhaps due to being thrown off guard, though it was clear the soldier was just very serious in nature, pragmatic and rather uneasy in unfamiliar situations, like this.
This was..Different. What was she asking? What more could there possibly be to know that she didn't already know? Euclase seemed good natured enough, but they were unsure what to tell her.
The other gem seemed thrown off but her questions. She supposed though it did make sense, over her time she dealt with many Quartzs and some were more closed in then others. In truth Euclase probably shouldn't of placed it so bluntly. It was clear the other gem was stumbling over her words and at this point, and Euclases attempts and conversation fell somewhat flat because of it. Now there was the lingering question, did she push the issue more or back off in favour of something else. She pondered this, trying to think of what to do. Alternately she may be able to reveal more about herself, but could that come off as egotistical? Maybe, but at the same rate she may be able to prod over common ground then.
"What is she like?" Euclase questioned, glancing back at the window into space "Yellow Diamond I mean. I've never met her before." Maybe getting her to talk about her leader may push her to open up.
It wasn't Euclase's fault. In truth, the Clear Quartz wasn't at all used to talking about anything that wasn't mission-related or official, much less themselves. They had always been one to focus themselves entirely upon the mission: Clear Quartz gems were like that, and 7XB was a prime example of that.
Yellow Diamond, though? Now that was someone they could talk about until this system's sun went supernova. "Yellow Diamond?" They questioned brightly, almost seeming chipper or.. excited? "She's..She's..Strong," they cleared their throat briefly, doing what they could to stifle their mounting excitement, shown as their tone returned to their normal, more neutral cadence. "Tall, confident. She, well, she GLOWS if that makes sense? Not literally, though literally too but..Forgive me if, if I ramble, ma'am." They weren't usually one to get rambunctious like this.
She let out another chuckle, she realised she did that alot actually "By all means" She affirmed "At this rate I may actually be able to hold a conversation with you"
"With the Moonbase not being much for excitement i never really encountered gems from other courts until recently. So its somewhat of a learning experience for me." She explained "Even if i am rather old already" She seemed to glance outside, almost spacing out "You know" She started not turning away from the view of space. She paused shaking her head, before turning back "I would be concerned if your Diamond didn't glow, all things considered. I understand she the more militaristic one, I suppose that makes sense though. Most of the original Quartz's came from her Kindergartens if i recall."
Shifting the topic more so back to Clear she continued "You must of done something pretty outstanding though to get to meet Yellow Diamond, i assume she is a little more stringent with audiences then My Diamond, although i may just be bias since i tend to encounter her semi-regularly. Perks of being a manager I suppose." She seemed to muse for a moment, adding somewhat quietly "I don't know why she chose Blue though, you would think she would want her Medics Pink like her Rose Quartzs, but instead i came out blue. I could never find whether it was a colour defect or whether she wanted a Blue gem from the start." She broke out of her somewhat unrelated tangent.
The corners of their mouth twisted upwards slightly, a sort of shy grin forming on their lips as arms came to cross over the bright, golden-yellow Diamond emblazoned upon their chest, more of a defensive posture really, bit more relaxed. A rare sight indeed. "Well, I've never met any of the other Diamonds," they admitted, "I've had my ideas, but I wasn't sure." To themselves, though, 7XB doubted any of the other three Matriarchs matched the radiance of their own, but what good gem didn't think that?
Upon mention of it yet again, Euclase sought some detail of their audience with Yellow Diamond some time ago, and while the quartz wasnt one for bravado, they saw no harm in speaking of it when asked. "It was nothing more or less then expected of me," they insisted beforehand, finding a great difficultly when it came to 'touting their own horn' as it were. "During the course of early colonization there was an accident on one of my Diamond's colonies, I..Took it upon my shoulders to rescue a group of Gems, and among them, a number of units deemed important to Yellow Diamond." 'irreplacable' had been the term used for the senior technican they had recovered from the collapse, but they personally had no way to verify such a claim. "It was..A great honor." The color returns, then, to their cheeks, taking a moment of reprive as Euclase mused.
She let out a small nod "Of course you would be humble about such a arrangement. When in truth im sure that it truly was above what was expected. Rescue missions tend to go awry rather often,to much unpredictability to gauge a proper plan of attack against assailants who have take a specific target, or in some cases, just the environment they are trapped in, but look at me rambling on about the semantics of tactics" She paused for a moment. At least this seemed to be working rather well, the Quartz was opening up somewhat quickly. So it seemed that her comment about the stoic disposition being but a mask may not be entirely unfounded.
"If you don't mind be prying,I was rather intrigued by your origins" Euclase began, deciding to delve into the conversation of Kindergartens. "You obviously a near perfect specimen of Quartz, lacking any major colour defects and a perfect standard gemstone Cut. I assume due to these factors that you might of come from a fairly pure planet, no Sandstone or other minerals to influence your colour.Clear and blue gems seem to be slightly less rare emerging from Ice planets. Since the Glacial deposits tend to purify excess elements, but im no Peridot so i'm not really a fully certified Kindergartener. There could be a equal chance you were a rarity from a mixed Kindergarten. At this point though i'm rambling. So ill cut to the chase, I was wonder about your Kindergarten, were you a ideal Alpha gem,or a outstanding rarity from a Beta or secondary Kindergarten?" She asked "Because gems like you don't emerge too often" She said, leaning back in her chair slightly.
She never read far enough back into the report to find out about the orgins of this Quartz, she was not sure whether she could even track it down among the army of other Quartz profiles.Especially with it being a report that would be filed under a entirely different Diamond, and would be info on a Kindergarten that would be most likely in a entirely different solar system.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
