It had been just a short time ago, when Ice had first arrived on the beach. He couldn't pinpoint the exact spot where it happened, but he knew it was around this area. He stepped onto the sand, letting his shoes sink ever so slightly into the ground. It may have just been him, but something seemed off, and it was starting to bother him. The tide had gone out, and the water was resting further out than he remembered, but that wasn't it. There was something else. He tried to ignore it, by walking along the shoreline simply trying to find peace, and surprisingly, it worked.
He had spent nearly two years trapped in an icy prison, just because he fell in the water. But still, the tedious crashing of the waves on the shoreline always brought him right back to the water, it made no sense for him to be so attracted to the very substance that had imprisoned him, and yet there he was. He gawked at the moving water for some time, before he kept on moving along beside it, occasionally reaching down and picking up one of the weird stones that seemed to catch his eye. After a few minutes, he had gathered a wonderful collection of worthless rocks, sea shells, and a sand dollar.
Very suddenly, it got much darker. The last hole in the sky was covered up by the dismal grey clouds, blocking out what little sunlight was able to get through. Ice never understood the sky on Earth, but it seemed different here than it was in the northern part, and it left him somewhat concerned. He just stood there, with his collection in his hands, staring at the puffs of grey in the sky, as the feelings of something not being right slowly crept back into him.
