Name: Smithsonite
Appeared Gender: Male
Appeared Age: 16
Gemstone: Smithsonite
Gemstone Location: Where the human heart is supposed to be (outside of the body)
Faction: N/A (He is too distrustful of other gems)
Corrupted: No
Appearance: He is a short (about 5'6"), slender gem with long arms and torso. He has a somewhat flat nose and flat, unstyled hair that covers his forehead. He wears a teal tuxedo and dress pants with a pink tie. He also wears pink dress shoes.
Personality: As a result of being an defective gem, he was rejected from the moment he was made, this caused him to develop a shy and nervous personality. He seldom trusts other gems unless they do something amazing, and even then he is still skeptical of them. The only gem he fully trusts is himself.
Likes/Dislikes: Becuase he only trusts himself, he only really enjoys being alone and talking to himself. To him, everything is arbitrary compared to his life.
Fears: Because of Homeworld's attempt to shatter him, he fears being shattered and violence.
Weapon: He has no weapon because he is an defective gem. It's supposed to be a staff.
Ability 1: Probability Field Manipulaiton- Smithsonite has exceptionally good luck. Having just discovered his power, he can not control it very well. It does not control other people, or cause bad things to happen to other people. All it does is increase the chance of things going his way. He can either use it in small amounts at a time, which allows him to eventually get away with things, or he can use his power all in one go and cause something drastic (Basically a Deus Ex Machina) to happen. Once his good luck runs out, he will have nothing but bad luck until his good luck meter is completely full again. One can tell his luck has run out because his gem turns from Teal to Pink. He can also transfer that power onto other gems. It takes about 15 minutes (3 posts) of continuous use for it to run out, and half an hour (6 posts) for it to become fully charged again. Drastic things can only happen once at a time. The continuous use prevents the worst from happening, while the instant use allows one thing to go his way.
Ability 2: (He has not discovered this yet) Heal Heart- He has the ability to heal other gems by touching their gems with his own, this can even fully heal shattered gems if used to it's full extent. The cost of this is that, like his good luck, if he uses this power too much he will run out of it and will not only take more damage when hit, but if he attempts to use this power on other gems while he has run out, it will harm them, and maybe even shatter them.
Fusions: N/A (He is too distrustful of other gems, including other smithsonites)
History: Smithsonites are supposed to be the healers of the gems, they should heal cracked gems and infuse them with battling spirit and good luck. When it was discovered that Smithsonite could not do this because he was an defective gem, he was immediately cast out of gem society. For most of his existence in Homeworld he was banned from doing anything, in fact he spent half of it in a jail cell. During this time all he did was grow more fearful of what the Homeworld gems would do to him. Eventually, Yellow Diamond decided it was time to shatter all of the useless defective gems, this included Smithsonite. But when they seized him, Smithsonite developed his power out of fear and adrenaline. He escaped on a spaceship that conveniently passed by using his good luck powers and flew away.
But as he was flying away, his luck ran out and dozens upon dozens of gems were chasing after him. To make matters worse, his ship was severely damaged by an asteroid field that he could not avoid. These shenanigans continued until his good luck returned. He flew away from all of the gems that were chasing after him, eventually crash landing on Earth.
Character Arcs: Over time, Smithsonite will learn that all gems aren’t out to shatter him. He will gain the ability to make friends and not be so distrustful of them.
