Not too far off from the Galaxy Warp, a beautiful glow can be seen. A bright teal star deep into the horizon. As the teal star grew closer and closer, there was a shift. The star turned pink and was sent catapulting into the sky, joining the rest of the stars. But the star still continued to grow closer and closer. Then a body could be seen, it was a gem.
"I'm gonna make it! I'm gonna make it!"
The gem landed on the side and splashed into the water. His body was heavy and dull. He could not move as he sank into the water.
"Stupid fish... Why did my luck have to run out?"
He continued to sink for another half hour, or rather, until his gem turned teal again. His body regained strength and he swam his way back into the surface. He then climbed up onto the Galaxy Warp and after what seemed to be an eternity, stand on solid ground once again.
"About damn time!"
He began to look around the area, looking for a way to leave Earth.
"This is the galaxy warp? Looks awfully run down..."
Emerald had gone to the Galaxy warp to check out the pads to see if any of the paste she had made had helped any of them get fixes. She sighed when she saw nothing had changed, but jumped back when she hard a crash into the water. She ran over trying to see if she could see the gem. She stay close by watching the pad when she saw the gem step on to land. "Oh thank goodness." She walked over slowly pushing her hair back a little. "Hello? Are you alright you look like you had a rough landing." She study the gem looking over their gem stone trying to see if he had any cracks on it. "Did your ship crash?"
He genuinely did not expect to see anyone else here, especially someone he did not know. He was half-expecting Titanite to stop him, but not some other... gem. He stared at her and then looked around.
"I didn't use a ship to get here... I rode a fish."
He giggled to himself. Even though he had just done it himself, the prospect of riding a fish was still somewhat funny.
"So why are you here? I thought I was alone."
He hoped that this gem was part of the crystal gems, or at least neutral. Because he knew that if she was allied with homeworld, then she was out to shatter him. He kept his guard up but slowly approached her nonetheless.
Emerald let out a giggle before covering her mouth trying to calm down a little. "i am sorry but I must have miss heard you. Did you say that you rode a fish here?" Emerald looked at him a little nervous adjusting her bag. "I was trying to see if I can get one of the pads working again. Sadly all the earth plants have been able to do for me is taste good, and maybe cover holes in my bag." Emerald pointed to the one pad that worked. "This is the only pad that works and it is connected to all the warp pads on the earth. I used one of the first warp pads to get here so that no one would see me. The gems stuck on earth really really want to get back."
When he heard that none of the warp pads were dysfunctional, he pouted. All he wanted was to get off of this rock, and now he realized that there was no way out... unless. He activated his good luck power and waited for something good to happen. After a few minutes a whale showed up and he went to look at it.
"So my good luck is... getting out of here? Nah, I'll take my chances here."
The whale left and he sat down on the ground. He looked at this gem. She didn't seem threatening. Maybe she's friendly.
"So tell me about yourself. I've never seen a functional Emerald before. I knew one, but she was... completely and utterly useless."
Emerald eyes widen when his gem turned pink she thought about asking before shaking her head closing her mouth. She walked over slowly to sit down with him. "Well I am not an true Emerald as my color shows it. I am a red Beryl but the common name is Red Emerald so that is what I go by. Well I came to earth about 1000 years ago with a group of Peridots to study the earth. I got separated after we landed when I became lost in one of the many earths jungles. I stayed there for a while before I ran into a group of humans. I followed them and helped them with this thing called farming it was really fun."
Smithsonite listened in astonishment to her story. He proceeded to get and, and then fall back down, flat on his face. He groaned and tried to get back up, falling down again.
"I think I'll just lay here for a while..."
As he lay there, he realized that Red Emerald was still allied with homeworld. At first he was afraid but then he looked at her, she seemed innocent and kind. He decided that he would trust her even though his good luck had run out.
"Well, since you told me your name... I'll tell you mine. I'm Smithsonite, involuntary rebel."
He laughed to himself again as he lay on the ground. He pondered as to whether he should roll around or not for the time being, deciding against it.
Emerald got up walking over to him looking down at him. "Are you okay? Your gem didn't look cracked, but I mean it did change colors. I know a place you can rest until it goes back to normal." Emerald took a small step back when she heard the word rebel, but step forward again knelling so she could help him get up. "I have not picked a side yet. Thought I know a lot of gems back on earth that chose that side. I am just not sure yet I need time to think about what I have learned, and I haven't had the chance since I have to keep running every time I try to settle down one side always seems to be where ever I go."
Smithsonite was relieved that she did not pick a side, but he was still not completely sure he could trust her.
"My gem does this all the time... it just means my powers have run out. I just have to wait until I get my powers back and my gem will be back to normal."
For now, he had no choice but to trust her. That has happened to him recently. It seems to be a growing trend in this weird rock. Gems keep getting sent here, and they keep having to trust each other through thick and thin, regardless of their allies. Maybe there was a bigger message in all of that that he had not picked up on yet.
Emerald nodded helping him up slowly letting him get adjusted. "Well then you really should be resting. How about I take you to earth maybe there we can help your gem regain it power back a little quicker?" Emerald walked slowly with him over to the warp pad. "Lets just hope there are no corrupted gems when we get back on earth. More and more gems are lost each day." She sighed a little giving him a gentle smile. "Have you been to earth before or is this your first time to your new home planet?" She tried talking with him hoping that maybe it would help him get a little bit of his energy back. "If it is your first time then I know just the place you should see."
Smithsonite shuddered. What did she mean by "New home planet"? Is there no escape from here? He began to shiver and tear up. He tried to wipe them but they just kept coming, they would not stop. He began to sob.
"This isn't my home! I want to go back to our real home! Homeworld!"
He continued to sob. He just could not keep the tears from going, why was he this unlucky? He could not hold back any thing, and worst of all, in front of a stranger, he felt the sudden urge to sing.
"Lost, I've never been so lost in the wilderness of my brain. Playing games with my pain while I'm wasting away. Confused, I've never been so confused. I've been trying to figure out how to shout through the crowd what my doubt's all about."
Emerald stopped wiping the tears away giving him a comforting smile not even phased by the singing. "You may be lost but there is always a way out. The game may seem tough, but if you just play it right you can shine. You don't need to shout just don't need to scream. You just need a friend who can take your hand and pull you through the woods. You need a friend you has got your back when the cards start coming down. You need a friend who can see you in that crowd, and pull you close to help you see that it is not all bad." Emerald smiled at him wiping a tear away. "We can't go back I am sorry, but earth is home for now."
He didn't listen to her, Smithsonite just continued to sing.
"All these emotions have rushed through my head, but one of them came up to me and said, 'I always hoped that I could fly. If dreams come true then I would cry for more. I never thought that dreams could die, until I spread my wings and tried to soar, and fall to the floor.' I always hoped that I could learn how to dance, or something like that. I always thought I could reach up to the stars, but it turns out I don't know where to start and end this pipe dream."
He was done singing now and the tears stopped coming. For a second he thought that his bad luck was gone, and his gem should go back to teal. But as soon as he thought that, the ground began to shake.
Emerald let him finish his song letting him calm down. "It will be fine I promise. You just need to see that earth is not a bad place to be." Emerald held him close when the pads started to shake. "We have to go now. Just stay close and maybe we will make it back to my little camp safely." She pulled him over to the warp pad trying to get it to work. "Dang it the wires must got lose stay on the pad and do not move." She slid off the pad to look at the wiring in the back. "How the they are all mixed up." She went to work fixing the wires. "Where does this wire go."
Smithsonite lay there on the ground, he was confused as to why he sang. He did not want to, yet he did it anyways. He cursed himself for singing. Suddenly, his gem turned back to teal. He sighed in relief and walked to Emerald, he saw that she was struggling with the wires.
"Don't worry, I've got this."
He used his good luck power and put his hand on her shoulder. Luck had a strange way of showing itself, because now he felt trust for her. Next thing he knew, there was a strange energy coming from his arm and apparently transferring onto Emerald.
"I think... that's my luck... Emerald, thank you. Now that you've helped me, I'll help you. My luck is yours. It's... our luck."

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’.
