" 'Hang out?' " She asked, then blinked. She held up a hand. "Hold on a moment-" Her eyes blinked again, at which point they became mirror-like. She stood there quietly for a second, mouth drooping slightly as she searched diligently through her memories. At last, she blinked again and her eyes returned to normal. She folded her arms in front of her and hung her head slightly. She now looked embarrassed and a little sheepish. "um... you're not asking to hang out because you have romantic feelings, right? Sorry, but the only other person who asked me to 'hang out' really intended for that. Uh, if that's the case then I think I'd like to just keep training. Or, uh, leave, or something." She rubbed her face, cringing at herself. "Sorry."
"Hmmm okay..." Light just wanted to befriend her, he did no had a lot of friends. That is probably because he was usually to afraid to say anything... and some of them tried to shatter him arleady.
He was afraid that he said something wrong and now she hates him. However Lapis finnaly spoke. It was a big suprise for Pearl. He never wanted to have some romantic moments with her. He blushed alot and tried to cover his face. "What?!"
After few seconds, still with red cheeks he spoke "I was not planing to havs some romantic times with you. I just... wanted to know more about you. I am sorry, I shouldn't ask. Let's come back to training than."Light turned to a hologram "You know what to do." Holo simply noded and prepared for battle "Do you wish to engage in battle?!"
She blinked vacantly. "...Oh." She rubbed at her head, cheeks darkening with embarrassment over what had to be said. She looked off to the side as she spoke to Light. "Uh, yeah I—" By saying 'yeah,' she accidentally activated the hologram again, and it began to run through its training scenario. Lapis startled as it activated, and tried to step out of the way of its thrusting range to speak. The hologram probably interrupted her several times, but she still tried to speak to Light. "Oh no no no! It's fine! I just wanted to be sure because-" She shuddered and shook her head. "It was a bit of a—"interrupted"—mess. But if you're—"interrupted again. The hologram had moved closer to her, and she had to step out of the way of its poking stick once again. "—just being friendly, that's totally fine!"interrupted again. Lapis is starting to look irritated. "I don't mind talking. But I don't have—" interrupted again. It moved closer, and she stepped away again. "—much to say about me. I bet a Pearl taking care of itself must be interesting thou—"interrupted again. Lapis lets out a grunt of sudden frustration and gives the encroaching hologram a good hard backhanded WHACK with the tendril-like limb of water enveloping her arm. That... seemed to defeat it. She looked surprised, and glanced down at her arm—completely shocked that it was used as a weapon for the first time.
Light was siting on the floor, he covered his face with hands. His face was still red. He didn't even notice that Lapis is arleady fighting with Holo. He kept thinking in his mind about the situation "OMG I messed up! She hates me now! Why does it always ends like that... do I stink?" He checked if he stinks "Nope... I smell like a meadow full of flowers at the morning. Maybe other people don't like the smell of nature."
Suddenly he heard that it is totally nice. Light looked at her with excited look "Really?! Oh, I didn't k ow you are fighting arleady, good luck!"
"I am not sure if it is interesring but sure, why not. I have a lot of free time right now-" Lapis got nervous and attacked Holo. That was a suprise. Pearl didn't expect that attack "Woah... That was great!" Hologram had no change. It fall and now was lying on the floor. "Do you wish to again engage in combat!" "I think it will be enough Holo."
Lapis looked down at her hand, just as surprised as Light that she had been able to make an attack. "Yeah, that was... something." She let the water slip off her arm and splash to the ground. She turned her attention back to Light. "Anyway, sure, I don't mind talking." She glanced over her shoulder to make sure the hologram wasn't going to interrupt. Or attack her. Satisfied that it wouldn't, she tilted her head as she looked to Light. "So, if you no longer have your master, why aren't you out looking for a way to contact Homeworld rather than... uh... training how to fight? I can't imagine anyone wanting to attack a Pearl. Er, no offense of course."
Light didn't felt offened, more like scared to death. At first he lied to her that he is not a rebel because he was afraid that she is powerfull. Now he was afraid to keep lying because he didn't want to lost a friend "I ummmm..."
He placed his hand on the back of his head and tried to not look at her eyes "Well... I did try to contact the homeworld at first. There is a one problem though: there is no way to contact the homeworld. So I am like stuck here, forever... or to the moment when Pink Diamond will come here. She will probably take every gem from here, to take home or punnish. To be honest I would rather stay here, I am outclassed by most of models, I have no idea what would happen to me after the visit of the Diamond." Light was trying to hide the true and don't lie at the same time. Is it even posible? "Oh my... You won't believe how many times was I attacked. This planet is full of dangerous gems."
"Mmmm... no I think I understand a lot of what you're feeling." She admitted, rubbing at her head. "I've almost been attacked a few times. They have always stopped right before they do something, but it's always close. It's mostly Homeworld Gems who are trying to make sure I'm not a rebel, but..." She shrugged. "I stay in Beach City a lot and that place is supposed to be filled with rebels, so I suppose I can understand them being cautious? You probably understand that. And I also understand... y'know... not being able to keep up with the rest of your gems. The reason why I can't do a lot of the things I'm supposed to do is because I'm overcooked by about 300 or so years. So I'm outclassed by all of the other Lapis Lazulis too." She admitted this as if she were simply making a statement of fact, and didn't exactly look sad over it. "So I don't know what the Diamonds will do to me once they come to the planet. Hopefully I can make a good impression so they won't shatter me? But I'm not sure."
Overcooked by 300 years?! This information shocked Light. It is not healthy for a gem to stay so long in a ground. Good that she is still functional. "That is terrible... I am sorry. I have no idea how it feels like to be you... but I do understand that you may feel different in a bad way sometimes. I am nkt finished, that is why my gem is not round and has got this small pit."
Light sighed "If everone was perfect, our world would be boring, right? The fact that you are overcooked makes you different. Not only in bad way but also in good way." Light blushed a little at the end. It was odd to tell to a just met person a compliment.
Light looked at her "I hope that you will never see them. Diamonds only accept perfection. I saw what Homeworld can do to the gems that are weaker than others." Pearl looked down. It nearly happened to him. If ye didn't escape he would be dead right now.
