"Well go on, say it! More than it's worth! I have been loyal to Smoky Quartz, and Howlite has been loyal to me. After he heroically sacrificed himself for me you mocked it! Do you have any honor at all Chip, the Fire Opal, running off with that white spinel... It's a wonder that Smoky Quartz hasn't turned against you yet! The reason I took that hit for Howlite was because I didn't know what you would do after he poofed. You seem to be more like the me that you think I am..." Sulfur said. "I worked for Smoky Quartz's trust. You have no right to ask my knight to be silent."
He then turned to Jade in shock.
"I don't know how you know any of this, but Sulfur gems were designed for a purpose they could not meet. We did not fail the diamonds, in fact we exceeded what we were capable of. We were destroyed because we could not serve the correct purpose we were designed with." Sulfur said quietly. "If anything, the diamonds failed us."
He then raised an eyebrow as the gem did not know Rose Quartz.
"He is...a loyalist, J." Sulfur said with a hint of confusion in his voice. "The leader of the crystal gems is Rose Quartz. Did you recently arrive on earth?"
When Sulfur defended him, Howlite smiled. "Thanks Boss. That means a lot to me. Then he turned to Jade. "Wait! You know how Kindergartens work?" Suddenly Howlite was flooded with internal longing for answers. "I wasn't made in either. I was made on Homeworld. Can I ask you something though? Is it, is it possible for the material of the ground to affect things other than intelligence. Like personality or mentality?" Howlite hoped she had the answers. Maybe this gem was the key to understanding his defect. It could give him some much needed closure. He stared at Jade with a hopeful look in his eyes. He really hoped she had the answers.

"Well... there aren't any Fire Opals on Earth besides me... well none I would met at least... certainly not a lot of them... they were probably destroyed when Crystal gems sabotaged Kindergardens... though I must admit I am slightly curious... do you know the purpose of Fire Opals?"
He asked. Perhaps this was his chance of learning what was suppose to be his purpose since he had no idea.
He then looked at Sulfur.
"There was nothing heroic about it... it was stupid. We both know I threw it with half the strength I could or probably even less... you would dodge it easily... if I really wanted to hurt you I would greeted you with fire, not lance... yes, Howlite is loyal to you, to the point that he would get injured for you... but if he didn't jump in you would remain uninjured... and please, don't insult the title of knight... knights were chivalrous warriors, not murderous weapons... "
He said and smirked.
"And since I am heir to Morion... and you are serving him... I actually do have ALL the rights to ask him to be quiet... just saying..."
"Have you ever tried to doubt in your own infallibility?
She asked simply from the broken Gem regarding the Sulfurs and their fate
"Actually yes... I am new on Earth, tho' visited it several times, while the Galaxy Warp was still operational... I have arrived not long ago, commanded a small meteorite to be my ride
"And Rose Quartz is nothing more than a spark that ignited this inferno... and she is not here on Earth. The Rebels must have a leader, a Gem that gives them orders... their "Diamond". As your poor Howlite is serving you, looking for orders, as this Fire Opal serving - the Earth rumbled againg, but she calmed herself - a Morion. Gems always needs to follow a Diamond-like figure. Even you Sulfur. This... Morion is your Diamond.
Tho' she wasn't too happy about this
"The Rbeles must have a leader on Earth, a real leader, not a "mythical figure", like Rose Quartz.
"Sorry for your loss Chip. Fire Opals are... Gems wit both combat and healing powers. Like Rose Quartzes. But unlike Rose Quartzes, Fire Opals are more... what is the right world? The difference, Rose Quartzes are essencially Quartzes. Big. Intimidating. Huge Gems. While Fire Opals are more "friendly" looking. The Rose Quartzes are rocks. The Fire Opals are swords, carved out from stones.
Jade tried to explain and nodded to Howlite
"I am not a Peridot, the technical details are beyond my knoledge, but I am a Jade! I can hear the songs and cry of the earth, the wisdom of the mountans, the whispers of the sand... the planet's cries. I can answer to your question. The answer is yes. Personality, mentality, wisdom, intelligence... all of these are effected by the place of your origin, the materials.
Sulfur's eyes widened and he coughed loudly as if in pain. He then grit his teeth and chuckled angrily under his breath. He was completely infuriated.
"Ahhh Chip! You do tempt me to break my agreement. I am starting to wonder if seeing you as a pile of shards is worth cutting ties with Smoky Quartz!" Sulfur tried to calm down, but was still clearly agitated. "Your title, means nothing to me. I serve Smoky Quartz, not you. You don't deserve anything he has given to you. You are what he hates, he hates those who are in between. You are a rebel who is too afraid to identify as one, so you side with homeworld. Your actions are that of a rebel, but you are too afraid of homeworld's armies and are a coward! I wonder why he cares about you in the least. Howlite is more of a knight than you could hope to be. You don't even know him. You had better stop mocking him, or I will silence you."
Sulfur turned to Jade.
"I have in fact. I was created lacking abilities I was designed to have. It is simple. That has nothing to do with me." He said. "Smoky Quartz is more than a diamond could ever be. I don't see why it should concern you, he is a loyalist, serving him is benefit to all loyalists. If it weren't for my loyalty then the broken gems would have shattered many, putting a dent in homeworld's armies. The rebels you see, are quite disorganized."
Chip was digging a grave. At this point it took every ounce of mental strength not to rip Chip apart. Howlite then heard what Jade had said. So it was Homeworld itself that did this? As if he couldn't hate that miserable planet anymore than he already did. He was hated, mistreated, and made into an outcast when it wasn't his fault. It was the oh so flawless Homeworld that did this. And the oh so perfect Diamonds who organized his creation. Every thing Homeworld hated him for, was their fault. That's why he was so glad to have Sulfur with him. Sulfur would never treat him as they did. Howlite was willing to take a Lance for him. Then Chip said it was half strength. He looked at Chip with pure rage. "You think you can make me fear you? You think I'll ever be intimidated by you? The ONLY thing keeping me from tearing you apart is him." He pointed to Sulfur. "If not for him I would've already killed you."

"Interesting... let's analyse it... I worked very hard for a long time to earn Morion's trust... you? You were given a chance by him... you betrayed him only to get poofed with a walking cane... and then given ANOTHER chance... so which of us were GIVEN something he doesn't deserve... I wonder..."
He explained slowly before continuing...
"Let's continue... I chose to serve the Diamonds, from my free will... even though their peridots tried to shatter me... you on the other hand choose to go your own way... and just "ally" with Morion like we heard a minute ago... so which of us is "in between and not loyal"? "
Chip burst to laughter.
"Also... I am here... facing YOU and YOUR ally... alone... you on the other hand attacked me from shadows... using illusions and corrupted gems against me... so... which of us is a coward?! I mean... is it difficult to be such a damn hypocrite?"
It was almost hilarious. Sulfur was accusing him about a lot of things that weren't true... but interesting that most of them were true about Sulfur... was he projecting his own faults on Chip? Perhaps... after all Sulfur tried to kill him before and failed... and since then he got poofed two times by Morion... not exactly a stellar score...
Jade scrolled further down, but looked to the Sulfur, then to the Howlite the the Fire Opal
She murmured The situation was... tense as she saw it The perfect example of the problems with Earth in general Rebelius Gems, Independent Gems... Hoewolrd Gems, monsters, insane experiments, and so on But now it seemed, these three gems prepeard to fight... and not only with words Lady Jade closed the Gem device, she didn't needed it anymore; the litter cylinders flew in to her kimono's pockets
"As you both said, this is Earth and not Homeworld, so my words are nothing, I guess... But if this Fire Opal is telling the truth, then your behavior Sulfur is only proving, the Diamonds were right. As for your simple minded but violent pet... I can't balme him for his behavior if his master is a bad example to follow.
The Green Matriarch summoned his jade colored bubble like force field
"If you try to kill each other, I will not interfere...
She moved away without any real movement, willing the earth under her to move with her
"How influential do you think I am? Those corruptions were not under my control Chip, they are simple-minded creatures that hate anyone they come across." Sulfur said rolling his eyes. "I attacked you because I thought that you had been ordered to destroy me. Once I realized that you were simply trying to escape I let you free. A great mistake I suppose. We are now allies Chip, I don't like it either. I try to keep my violence under control, I am an addict, what excuse do you have? You joined the rebels... you are friends with White Spinel. Probably more of them aswell. Listen here Chip, the Fire Opal. I have permission to attack Crystal gems except for White Spinel. I will coexist with you as long as you never get between me and my prey. My Broken gems will not attack you, as you identify as a homeworld gem. If you attack them however, they are entitled to self defense."
Sulfur said rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"Leave me alone and I will leave you alone." Sulfur snapped. "You can have a strange dabbling with your rebels for all I care, I just don't want to see it!"
Sulfur turned to Jade again.
"You should meet Smoky Quartz. He is a good of a gem as any. It's a shame that Chip couldn't pick up more good behavior."
Howlite made a fist as Jade called him simple minded. But once Sulfur addressed Chip, he did his best to calm down. It was not working. "Boss mark my words, should this kid ever become a problem for us, I'm gonna kill him my self!" He wanted to bring Chip to his torture room. Show him what fear truly is. Then he'd bring Morion his shards as a gift. If Morion's little brat thought he could kill Sulfur with impunity then he had another thing coming. Then he faced Jade. "And as for you! Don't you DARE call him a bad influence! He's done more for me than anyone else. If anyone deserves to be a Diamond it's him! At least HE understands how the world works. At least HE doesn't parade around about how perfect he is and kills those who aren't up to his standards. I'd stop talking if I were you before you see just how bad I can be."

"No Sulfur... you made mistake much sooner... when you chose to attack me... because thanks to that I changed... where just the thought of hurting other gems feels wrong in every part of my being the thought of hurting you seems almost pleasant... so I suppose you are right... we are similar you and I... you made me into a monster that day... "
He said. He hated this part of himself... but it was there... he really wanted to get rid of Sulfur... "You are insane and delusional it seems... I don't remember joining the rebels... but you knoww who did? Your "knight" over there... but nah, I am the bad one here... and Sulfur? I warn you once more and for the last time. If your minions ever threaten me, even with words I will take those threads very seriously... seriously enough to remove the source of those threads... but as long as you are serving Morion I will not attack you, even though I would like to..."
He respected Morion too much. He didn't agree with this decision... but he chose to respect it.
The Green Lady watched the unfolding conflict It was... intriguing The young Fire Opal's words were distrubing The behavior of Sulfur was disturbing too Howlite was a bit... strange, but the noble Gem could understand his situation... poor little Howlite But the whole situation was a smoking barrel ready to explode Tho' it could have been worse... after all, they still hade enough self controll to not not fight! Just with words But still, the situation was dangerous The Green Lady slowly started to move without movement to the nearest Warp Pad, to avoid the fight; these Gems were powerful fighters, the Fire Opal was full of fire, the Howlite was barbaric and the Sulfurs always were... erratic, dangerous It was better to leave
The Smoky Quartz called his "loyal" Sulfur from the bridge of the Derelict The Gem communicator beeped several times
"My Sulfur, it is me, Morion... I have recived your "Gift". Dont forget to make a full report about that incident. You know I am not the biggest fan of such things. But I've called you about the new situation! I don't know if you watched in Television or not, so just to make sure, the situation changed."
The Assassin explained
"After some talking, Light Mocha Pearl joined our ranks, he is now My Pearl, out of his own free will. So I forbid you to hurt him! More so, Flint Quartz, the former Protector of Beach City and his wife, Blue, the Gem you bubbled are left the Crystal Gems too. Flint abdicted his position as Protector and pledged his loyalty to me as well as his bride. So like in the case of Light, you and your team can't hurt them or bother them anymore! This is an order my loyal Sulfur! Morion out!"
Sulfur sighed and grinned as he impressed himself with his own ability to calm down. Suddenly he heard the voice of Smoky Quartz.
"What's this?!" Sulfur exclaimed, thinking out loud he turned around. He was surprised to hear Morion at such an unexpected time.
As Sulfur listened he became disappointed. Morion had taken in the pearl as well as two more gems. He knew that Morion had his reasons for doing such things, but he still was as bloodthirsty as ever. Like a child who is denied cookies yet understands the reason, he had no choice but to respect the orders. He also liked being called 'My Sulfur' it sounded like a title. This left Sulfur with no choice but to salute. He would have showed Morion a diamond salute to display his affiliation with homeworld, yet his past and the fact that he had forgotten how to do it prevented this. Instead he gave the quartz a human salute. He remained silent.
Howlite's rage was about to consume him. And tensed up ready to charge Chip when suddenly a communicator beeped. His head spun around to the noise. It was Morion. Flint, Blue, and Pearl had gone loyal? That was not good. He was fine with one gem on the don't touch list, but 3? Oh no. Howlite didn't think so. He smirked. "So I guess the Quartz may be smarter than I thought. Don't worry Boss. We'll get them one day." Then he began to calm back down. He wasn't allowed to kill anyone here. It was like putting cake in front of a child but telling the child he can't have any. He couldn't wait for the monster hunt Sulfur promised. He needed to vent out the rage and blood lust that had been building up during the conversation with Chip and the now absent Jade.
Flurry: Such as...me! Cant have too many threads

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
