Chip took few deep breaths.
"I have this feeling that those ships weren't built to be blasted... those ceilings are bloody durable... I would hate to make more shortcuts... it could very well cave on us if I keep blasting it... there were some holes even before I was here... now there are several more..."
He said and followed Ice and Bloodstone. He wasn't really worried about the monster right now. The noise would echo throughout the ship, so the chance that it would help them find them sooner wasn't that big...
"So... uhm... is everything ok with you both? Anything new or interesting happened? I have this feeling you two met before today?"
He was trying to get Ice thinking about something else then monsters... and small talk could help...
"Yeah that might be a good idea...if the ship takes any more serious impacts it does appear to look like it can cave in. The structure wasn't too strong in the first place."
Bloodstone sighed and took a few breaths as well before looking back at Chip and nodding, confirming the question about him and Ice meeting
"You would be correct. Ice stumbled upon my little shack near Beach City a few days ago. After some convincing I managed to get him to decide to try to train some. He's not too bad at it actually, main thing is that if it's the right situation Ice here has quite the lethal kick skate combo."
Octi smirked, he meant every word of it too, the ice skate kick that Ice had could be powerful if it was done right
Ice looked at the wall, quickly remembering that this ship was incredibly old. The material used here wasn't nearly as indestructible as the new stuff, which meant that the ship really could collapse. He just hoped that the area above the entrance would have some sort of connection to the control panel, because if it didn't then they'd be going backwards.
Ice looked up when Chip asked the question, sitting back and letting Bloodstone explain what happened. He started blushing when Bloodstone said that he wasn't too bad and that his kick was lethal. It was a little better than he would've explained it, and the flattery left him rather unsure of what to say. "It's not that amazing, plus I still have to work on it a bunch..."
Ice started to wonder what Bloodstone was capable of. Apart from handling his pathetic kicks, Ice had never really seen him in action. But he seemed to know a lot about combat based stuff, he was even teaching it really well. There was a little comfort that Ice could take in these thoughts. The monsters became a little less frightening when he considered the two powerhouses he was travelling with.

"You should've seen me in my first battle. I got attacked by some corrupted monster-lion. I escaped only because I was able to fly away... I was able to fight only after Morion trained me a little... and I was suppose to be a warrior... "
Until he got healed and got some training he was probably the sorriest excuse for warrior gem that ever was. But right now he was walking towards their goal in monster and trap infested ship and he was afraid only slightly. "I know a gem smith... perhaps she would be willing to craft you some sort of weapon? I mean if you want... I have a shield from her... it's quite durable."
He offered. Sure, Ice wasn't a warrior... but there were Pearls who learned how to fight... and if Pearls could anyone could... Somewhere in the distance a loud roar sounded. Closer then before though...
"I've sort of just been built for combat in the first place. I know my memory's not the best but from what I can remember, I've been a bit of a battle machine from day one. That's what I remember Bloodstone's being built for in the first place anyway."
Octi's memory was not the best ever since...well ever since he could remember, ironic part about that whole statement. The berserker was always a bit different from the other gems although it was never very clear as to why.
"Erm....what was that? That didn't sound like a good time."
Bloodstone looked around nervously, the roar pretty clear to everyone else in the room as well
Ice looked over to Bloodstone to see if he was as shaken by Chip's statement as he was, but it seemed like he either didn't catch on or just wasn't afraid. Anyway Ice looked at it, it sounded like that monster lion thing that Chip had described was still here. After all, he just said that he only got away by flying, not defeating it.
He was able to take his mind off of it by talking about the whole smith thing. "Oh, that sounds like a good idea, I'll have to take you up on that." Ice wasn't sure what he needed, or if he really needed anything, but by going to a smith he'd be able to figure all that out.
When Bloodstone talked about being built for combat, it acted as some reassurance for Ice. It was probably the most comforting thing for him to hear about. Knowing that both Bloodstone and Chip were both there and both incredibly strong was the one fact that he could get solace from at the moment. However, it was rather short lived, as a roar echoed past them. Almost on cue, Ice's shivering became worse, as he looked at the others, worried. "That... that was a bit closer than before, was it not..."

"Earth is nice planet and everything... but it's quite dangerous too. Corrupted gems, rebels... gems that went crazy... it would probably be safer to have something to defend yourself with..."
His gem glowed for a moment and he "pulled" his shield out of it. "Here, catch... if, by a chance, something went wrong use this to defend yourself with... but don't worry... if some monster come we will blast it into oblivion... then again it's better to be safe then sorry, right?"
The shield was small, orange and expertly crafted. And probably quite useful against whatever it was roaring in the distance.
"Don't worry... this ship is confusing... and the sound carry strangely there... they could be on the other side of this ship..."
"I'm sure I can handle myself either way..I mean I've fought gem monsters before, so it wouldn't be the first time for me in all honesty."
Octi smiled and still remembered the time where he tried taking out that giant fish monster at the Sky Temple by simply punching it while in berserker mode...it may not have been the best idea at the time but it still helped take the beast out one way or another
"I'll keep that in mind about the sound...hadn't really thought about that honestly."
Bloodstone wrapped a chain around Ice reassuringly, the best he could do that was the equivalent of a hug as the three of them continued down the ship
Chip was right about Earth. It was beautiful, but it was a far cry from safe. He briefly recalled the events with Blue Quartz, Dark Spinel, and the time he got frozen in an iceberg for what felt like forever. He shuttered a bit before snapping back to reality.
Ice smiled when Chip said that it was better to be safe than to be sorry. He quickly grew a liking for that saying, and felt another wave of relief when Chip explained that the sound travelled weird in the ship. Ice remembered this, saying the word for it out loud to jog his memory. "echo."
After that, Ice mostly stayed quiet, simply holding on for the ride as they continued moving through the ship. Only breaking the silence after some time. "We're almost there, shouldn't be much farther." This was assuming that the area above the entrance to the ship had an entrance into the control room. In made sense for it to be designed that way to him, but it was an old ship and there was no way of knowing for sure until they got there.

Ice was right - they really were quite close. But there was one more obstacle in their way. After some walking they ended up before locked door. Some kind of security blast door. Chip never saw ones as those. But it were probably quite durable.
"So... anyone can open those door? Melting them would take several forevers... I don't even know what kind of security are gems using. Are doors password protected? Or do you need some security card? Or something like that?"
Chip said after he looked at it. Perhaps Ice knew how to hack it? Or Bloodstone might be powerful enough to tore it open? Chip had no idea. At least the monster sounds stopped for this moment... hopefully it was a good sign?
Bloodstone looked up at the door once the three of them stopped in front of it. It looked fairly hard but..it was possible. It would take a good amount of effort from Octi though to pry it open
"Eh..let's not worry about security like that. I think I know how to take care of this thing."
Octi smirked as he concentrated, drawing into the strength he had before running at the door and getting a grip with his hands and all six of his chains at the same time. The berserker started pulling back as the door was groaning at its hinges. Slowly but surely, the door was tugged off of its hinges. until Octavian tossed the door away, watching it clang loudly on the floor as he looked back at Ice and Chip
"I'm aware that stealth is sort of what we're going for but..come on, was there really going to be an easier way? Now let's go!"
He smiled and started walking down the hallway, eager to see what was next
Sure enough, there was an entrance to another room attached to the area above the ship's entrance. Ice wasn't positive that they'd find the control centre behind it, but judging by the heavy duty door, they had a decent shot. Chip looked back at them, wondering if they knew how to get it open, but Ice was completely clueless. The door was old, like nothing he'd ever seen before, and he didn't see any obvious way to get it open.
Bloodstone on the other hand, seemed like he knew what he was doing. Sure enough, he went at the door with tremendous power, and after a few moments of the door struggling to stay put, it gave way. He tossed the door, and turned around smiling at them as Ice's face lit up with surprise. All he could get out was an "Uh..." before he just walked along into the room with the others.
Ice's expression changed to one of excitement as he saw what was clearly the control room. "We made it!" He cheerfully shouted as he ran over to the main control. It was pretty run down and there was vegetation growing inside, but after he messed with the panel for a few seconds, a pink screen popped up detailing a complete map of the ship. "Okay, what's the plan?" He wasn't sure what was going to work and what wasn't, but he figured it would be a good idea to ask what they were planning to do before trying anything.

Chip just watched Bloodstone's brute strength. He considered himself quite powerful, but this was something completely different. He could never match his strength, and his fire wasn't all that useful in melting security doors... it would take hours... and took all of his energy away...
"I blasted hole in the ceiling... so stealth isn't really option, some door breaking can't make it much worse... plus you opened it, so great job."
He said and entered the room with Ice.
"Well, the first part of this plan is to deactivate the stupid traps and security... then we can eliminate all those monsters... and then our humans can take this thing apart... scavenging anything that had any value..."
"Deactivate traps? Okay, I'll see what I can do." He scanned the control panel, finding several buttons that he recognised and many more that he didn't. "Hmm.." There was a series of what seemed to be off buttons, so he started there, pressing one and waiting for a bit and then pressing another. Then he moved down a few rows to a bunch of pink buttons, clicking the first one and looking up on the screens. "Nothing?" He moved over one and clicked another. rows of spikes starting moving up and down on the floor visible through one of the screens. "I can use this to make sure that they're all off..."
He could easily shut the whole system down and the traps would be off completely, but he was trying to keep the map up. He basically had to shut down only some of the ship. He heard Bloodstone ask about the security in this part of the ship, causing him to pause and look around. "I don't think there should be anything overly dangerous in here, but as long as we are right next to this panel we are good. They'd never make a trap that could damage the controls." He went back to work, testing a few other buttons and then looking back at the screen and activating the spikes again. "Nope, still on..."
He moved over and starting trying other buttons, experimenting a little. sometimes they would do nothing, but after examining the screens closer it looked like they were only showing half of the ship. After a couple minutes of him messing around with the controls, he went over to activate the spikes and nothing happened. "Oh!" He tried a few other pink buttons and smiled to see them fail to work. "I think I probably got them, but I don't know for sure so we should still be a little careful."
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
