Name: Kyanite (commonly just referred to as Kyan)
Appeared Gender: Male
Appeared Age: 22
Gemstone: Kyanite
Gemstone Location: wrists
Corrupted:(Y/N) no
(If Corrupted) Monster Form: n/a
Appearance: here!
Personality: Despite his many obsessive compulsive tendencies, Kyan is otherwise surprisingly laid back. He likes kicking back and lazing around in a clean environment, and takes enjoyment in viewing the interactions of others, especially humans. Truth be told, he's a little bit jealous of how simple their lives are. Sometimes he wishes he could be human himself.
Kyan considers himself a deeply empathetic person, sensitive to the feelings of others. He's inherently good and is a natural people pleaser. He's sweet and soft by nature, but this makes him very easy to manipulate or take advantage of. Rejection and criticism severely hinder his confidence and rot in his mind months later, to the extent of suppressing his powers. He needs a lot of reassurance and is in a constantly fragile state, though he may not always express his woes.
He yearns for adventuring and understanding, and wishes to eventually become a peace keeper between humankind and gemkind, perhaps even sharing innovations and, one day, planets.
Likes/Dislikes: Kyan really enjoys the company of cats, the taste of dairy products and sugar products, and pop culture. He absolutely adores mingling with humans at their varying social scenes, such as malls, pools, and festivals. Some of his hobbies include surfing, hoverboarding and jamming on bass guitar. Things he's not very fond of include arrogance, toasters (he doesn't quite understand them yet) and thunderstorms.
Fears: The destruction of the human race, isolation, most bugs, the bottom of the ocean, criticism, global warming & the death of the polar bears.
Weapon: Two iridescent blue to white boomerangs! They can also combine to form one full body sized boomerang that glitters deep blue with white stripes inside.
Ability 1: Arcane blast. The palms of his hands channel a very fine and focused blue energy, visible to the human eye. They're not particularly malleable, and create symmetrical squares that twist out towards the enemy. This blast can cause knock back as well as burn damage that will feel cold. Because he hasn't practiced this ability too much, it's limited to blasting just a few meters, and over exertion will not only exhaust him but possibly burn his hands.
Ability 2: airboarding. It can only move as fast as Kyan can run and as high as he can jump, bound by his strength and speed. The board comes in the form of a long, polished rectangular gem of a deep blue shade--Kyanite, literally. He can hold only one other person on it at a time. In crystal healing Kyanite is generally known for allowing flow through the system. Much like he channels his energy through his palms to create a physical attack, Kyan channels that same manifestation of energy through the soles of his feet and board, an extension of himself, thus rendering it able to float and move. It's responsive only to his aura, and summons under his feet on command. Some sort of his body must be on the board at all times, otherwise the connection is lost and it disappears.
Fusions: i'll add this when he fuses!
History: Unlike his colleagues, Kyanite doesn't look down on humankind; they've built quite a bit in their limited life spans, which is admirable. And though they war with each other, some communities can really come together in times of chaos. They have parties and concerts, and get together for no other reason that to socialize and enjoy themselves. Kyanite really admired all he'd heard about humankind, even if the other gems did try to explain it in very dim light.
The gems are easily as flawed as people are in regards to behavior, which really frustrates him. Due to how vocal he's always been about his interest in human kind, most gems grew pretentious in his presence, sneering and insisting that if he loved them so much, he could just go down and join them. And that's exactly what Kyanite did, taking a small ship to earth with nothing but his airboard and human sociology text books. His first few years on the planet were spent hitch hiking and learning the various cultures and human behaviors. Eventually, he chose to settle down in a small, coast side town which, as it turns out, is a pretty popular destination for gems.
