When Carbide laughed, he smirked. Heliotrope would've been quite the catch. Oh well. I've settled down with someone else. I'm happy so one failure doesn't matter. It did confuse me though. I had a dozen women on every planet, just waiting for my next passing through. She didn't see it however. She played me and I followed her like a pied Piper. But again that was then. This is now. Are you settled Carbide? You saddled up with someone. Seems highly probable. I mean I'm currently saddled but if I wasn't... Oh well. Better luck for the next guy. He called a waitress over. Can I help you sir? Bring us another round. You know what? Bring everyone another round! O-okay. What did you say your name was again? Howlite. Now off you go.

"Am I settled? Heh.. not sure that I am, at least in the sense that youre implying. Don't rightly know if thats in the cards for me either. My disposition can be rather.. difficult. Theres a couple gems out there though..I think they get me. But am I going about proverbially 'doing as the humans do' with the whole picket fence made of white painted flesh of dead trees? Nah."
A dozen partners on multiple planets.. oh diamonds. She had a proverbial trophy hunter on her hands here, always on the look out for the next notch to carve into his rifle stock, so to speak. She figured that he had been trying to impress her with some sort of tally or something. When the drinks arrived, Carbide slipped an extra bill to the waitress, to thank her for keeping her nerve so far. What else could she find out about this proverbial Big Game Hunter??
"Here's a bit of a simple question for you.. now that you're here, frustrated, and reevaluating your life's work, it sounds.. what now?"
With an arch of her eyebrow, she had pitched the question. Simple and to the point.
Howlite nodded as the waitress brought him another beer. Seriously? Not saddled? I wouldn't peg you for the type. As for what now? I've given up killing. I plan to find those I've wronged and rectify my mistakes. Now as far as the in-between jobs part? I'll be going wherever the party takes me. Whether it's dumps like this or it's a club in Empire City. I'm not the man I once was. I settled down. I got a girlfriend. I'm no longer this drifter outlaw who goes around sleeping with every woman within a 50 mile radius. I've changed. I'm happier this way too. Sure that lifestyle was fun and exciting but there was almost like a Small void they couldn't fill. They didn't love me. They simply needed my services. Though I must say, I'm gonna miss my hunts. I used to hunt big game monsters on every planet I visited and hunted them for sport. Now I'm done with it all. I'm a changed man. Now here's my question. He leaned towards her with a grin. What's keeping you here? Most gem once they get this far in the conversation run. But not you. Why?

Carbide shrugs somewhat, granted this character still seemed a little weird, but then again, sh was no exception nor anyone else on this rock it seemed..
"Hm.. I dunno, I guess I am not feelig too threatened by anything you've said so far. Unless something realy worries me, I am not too likely to give up my seat I guess you could say."
Her gaze swiveld to the window for a moment, as the sound of a few rain drops pattered against the glass. Seemed like a rain shower was blowing in. Not that it would pose a problme for any but the water soluable gems, and those were far from common. At any rate, she decided on staying warm and dry, so she would stay a while longer. A few more patrons bustled in and shook the droplets off their coats and made their way to various corners of the bar, seeking an evening in our of the rain as well it seemed.
"Guess I've just never really gotten too much in the way of warm fuzzies from another gem, at least not enough to make me feel like getting 'saddled down' or whatever the phrase actually is. Ive got a bit of a streak of mixed heavy independence, skepticism and sass that puts me somewhat at odds with the traditional squishy greetinc card romance, not to say that I wouldn't be open to it if the right something came along.. I am simply .. aware.. of my track record is all."
Howlite nodded as she spoke. She was a drifter type. Like him. He had an idea. Let's take a break from the questions. I'm gonna put some life into this bar. Let's have some fun! He stood up on the table and began to sing. As he did other patrons gathered around. I'm a traveling man. Made a lotta stops. All over the world. And in every port, I own the heart, of at least one lovely girl. I've a pretty señorita waiting for me, down in old Mexico. And if you're ever in Alaska, stop and see my cute little Eskimo. Oh my sweet Fräulein, down in Berlin town makes my heart start to yearn. And my China doll down in old Hong Kong, waits for my return. Pretty Polynesian baby, over the seas. I remember the night. That we walked in the sands of Waikiki and I held you oh so tight. He extended a hand to Carbide, offering her a dance. He wasn't trying anything, he just wanted a break from the sad and needed some fun. So did she.

Carbide shook her head and smirked, giving just the slightest hint of a face-palm. This Howlite was a bit of a goof ball, but at least he was a little bit fun. She would have to give him that. After thinking for a moment, she decides to let the cat out of the bag, and it would either go off without a hitch, or it would be a colossal failure, but either way it should be fun, or at least memorable.
Carbide rises up out of her chair, and with her main arms, tugs the poncho up and off, over her head. theres no way it wouldnt have gotten in the way while dancing anyway, and with it flapping around, kepeing a low profile on two extra sets of arms would have been equally futile. So.. up she rises and tosses the garment back onto the seat of her high backed chair, and stretches out all six upper appendages, looking like a cross between a human goddess and a sleepy femme gem in a pub.. most elegant.
Not giving the Howlite much chance to react she grabs the outstretched hand and hops up on the table too.... "Alright.. YOU lead!"
Luckily for Carbide, Howlite's reaction time was incredibly fast. As soon as she got on to the table he immediately spun her and then pulled her back in closer. I was planning to do that anyway. I always lead when I dance. Oh and don't worry about the extra limbs. That's something I've handled before. Good times. Good times. Now then. He placed a hand on her hip and the other in one of her arms. Then he began to slow dance with her atop the the table. A great deal of humans were watching them. Howlite chuckled as many pleasant memories returned to his head. He then leaned in to Carbide. Hope you enjoy this. I would hate to disappoint someone like you Carbide.

Carbide smirked a little bit and with a rear arm, she tosses the bundled garment back to her seat, not that she was too concerned about someone taking it anyway. Taking the rogue gunner's hand and letting him lead in a little slow dance atop the over built heavy oak table. A slow dance was certainly not something that she had not done in quite a while, but she had to admit it was kind of nice. Guess even she was capale of taking it slow and a bit of sophistication from time to time.
~ " .....would hate to disappoint someone like you Carbide. ..." ~
"Aww, is that an ethical standpoint, or the voicing of a desire not to get punched six times at once?" Carbide wiggles her nose a bit, and makes a bit of a face, indicative of the implied level of light hearted jest to her comment just now. " So will your gem-dearest take issue with you dancing with a wild card in a pub?"
Howlite chuckled and shook his head. I'm afraid it's neither. How do I put this?.... In my lifetime I've been with countless women. Just about every gem type and just about every humanoid species in the galaxy. Of all that experience.. I've never met a Carbide. I'm guessing you're a prototype? Call it silly, but I've always been a tad envious of prototypes. You guys aren't labled as defective the instant you're made. You guys get way more respect than guys like me do... or rather did. As he continued to slow dance with Carbide she asked about Mocha. Nah. Mocha doesn't care where I drive... so long as I park my car in the right garage. You got nothing to worry about sweetheart. You just focus on right now.

Carbide leans in a little bit, finding the exchange a little bit relaxing, she had to admit. Although she thought that this Howlite HAD driven home the point enouhg about being able to charm scores of different gems, quite enough at that point..
"Well the respect a prototype gets is based on if it pleases those in charge of testing. In a case like me, its possible that you can perfoem to spec or beyond, but if you have a bit of trouble with regards to being a good little soldier and keeping your mouth shut in the face of top-brass level screw ups.. you can still find yourself as the only one of your kind. I really don't know what Home World would think of me now, but what I do know, is that to the best of my knowldege, they havent made any more like me. Guess that means I kind of 'own the franchise' now, albeit in a bit of a lonely way..."
Suddenly taking the lead for a breif second, the spins Howlite and bends him backwards into a suprise dip, chuckling with a sassy expression before straightening up and 'returning the reins' to him in the dance.
"Who knows. Maybe if I can solve some of this earth colony debacle, I could end up with enough favor to see about re-initalizing my gem type project.. if they feel they can stand or tolerate more of me.."
Howlite listened as she explained what it was like to be a prototype. It seemed different. Still better than a defect in his opinion. He smirked as she dipped him and gave him a look. Sassy. Strong willed. Drifter. Oh this was gonna be fun. As he took back the reigns, he spun her around and dipped her. As he straightened her back up, he grinned. Not tolerate you? What kind of moron wouldn't like you? An idiot like that would deserve a good old fashioned bottle to the face. I don't think you'll have to worry about that though. We drifters never have to worry about not having a place to go. Shoot I should show you the Dreadnaught sometime. After I get it from the guy who robbed me of course. He spun her around once more. but enough about business. Let's have some fun.

"Fun you say?..." This was sure to be good, this world seemed to be filled with nothing but characters, so she would keep her guard up just a little bit.. oh well, at least if it came to it, she could punch more effiicently than before.. that was something.. right?
Carbide tilts her head somewhat at the Howlite she danced with. "Just what do you mean by that? And jsut what is the Dreadnaught, do you have your own ship? Because that would be just a little impressive, not many gems on this world seem to still possess the means to leave it, or travel rapidly outside of locations that are linked by the warp pad network, and its not exactly the most extensive network of any colony out there, what with progress being at a stand still because of the rebellion and all.... Woaaaa-"
She squeaked out a little bit as the room spun again, honestly the spin and dip had to be this howlite's favorite dance move.
Howlite chuckled at the question of his ship. That's right sweetheart. Built her myself. She's faster than any homeworld vessel by a longshot. Her engine is primarily Homeworld tech but it's interlaced with many alien components. That's why she's faster. She's also got enough firepower to punch a hole through handships. Top that off with 2 inch thick plating. Yeah there's no ship like it. Then a Smoky Quartz by the name of Morion stole it from me. I'm taking it back one day. That ship was my home. Still is. As they danced, he took the time to subtly eye her up and down. Oh yeah this was gonna be his next catch he was sure of it. Just had to be patient and she'd be his.

Carbide pauses and breaks the dance for a moment, looking a little surprised when Howlite said he had past dealings with Morion and that things had apparently gone sour..
"Woah woah woah woah now! Thats a gem that I've met on a few seperate occasions now. Had some dealings with him too when I had few other viable options to help me solve a problem at hand. Pardon me for asking, but what would Morion want with a small personal cruiser. I have seen his holdings and what not, and I'm just surprized that he would have need of something like that."
Carbide was intrigued, but not necessarily in a good way, although she tried to not let it show on her face. She crossed her arms sternly as she thought to herself, the evening's relaxed haze seemingly burnt away for the next few moments.
"SO.. what then? How will you get your ship back? Empire City would be a far better place to hunt for clues as to it's location than way out here in the space sticks."
Howlite frowned as Carbide broke the dance. He sighed. I already know where it is. It's in the hangar of his Derelict. He didn't steal it because he needed it. He stole it so I couldn't leave Earth. He wants to mold me into some soldier boy and that's not my style. I'm a scout but not a soldier. I'm a hunter and an interrogator. He can't change me so he's decided to not let me leave until I willingly change my entire identity. But all it takes is 1 slip up and the ship is mine. I just gotta wait him out. He'll mess up and when he does I'll take back my home. Can we please get back to our dance now? I'd rather not discuss work right now. He held out his hand, expecting her to take it.
Melody: "The fight system of this site is really Ehh..." Well... how would you improve it? ^^
Oct 14, 2019 17:53:41 GMT
Flurry: I think that theres not much that can be done in just, regular rps, I think before a fight both sides should agree to do it, and decide the winner based on logic, because otherwise we're doing this "Hey im really cool" thing that goes back and forth
Oct 14, 2019 19:51:03 GMT
Flurry: I made Flurry cause id rather have a support/non fighting character anyway
Oct 14, 2019 19:51:31 GMT
Chip the Fire Opal: I have Chip who is a killing machine... and Sapphire who couldn't fight a broom
Oct 14, 2019 19:58:03 GMT
Flurry: Ive got Sulfur who impales people with a lot of swords, and Flurry who cant even heal people without being on the verge of collapse

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show

*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
