The days following the generous shipment from a certain Smokey Quartz consisted mostly of Para sorting the materials into their own sections so they could be properly categorized and accounted for. While it stung her pride to have to turn to Morion for help, it was clear that his support was leagues beyond the resources she had previously. With the new selection (not to mention amount) of metals, catalysts, and other assorted items she could begin much larger projects. And today would mark that beginning...
Currently she was alone in the forge, having begun her work before Light would appear. At the moment she was simply preparing each of her tools that would be needed for what she had in mind, all the usual tools she used for almost every job, such as her crucible and tongs. What was new however was a mold she made from hard-light, something resembling a ring although about the size of a plate. As well there were eight other indentations that looked almost like little crab legs.
Light was sleeping in his bed when suddenly radio with alarm clock option started playing music. He woke up. "Uhhh... This thing called 'sleeping' isn't that bad... I feel relaxed." Pearl made his bed and started preaparing his backpack. He put there thermos with green tea he just made and some cups. Than he turned off the radio and decided to go to Para. She was really busy... noone would like to work alone in moment like this.
Light left his gem room and tried to sneak so noone would see him. He betrayed Crystal Gems after all... After a while he was finnaly there. He was whistleing and was in a good mood. He saw that Para is arleady working...? Light really need to leave Forge more often, it is too much work for a one gem. He stoped making noises "Ohh! Hello Lady Para! How are you? Do you need my help?"
Light approached to her work place and gave her a cup of tea. He saw something weird there. "So many legs... is it going to be a robo spider that will create a shield which will protect humans from Diamond's attack?"

As she had done a hundred times before Para melted down some iron, no fancy alloys or anything just a simple cheap metal to serve as a sturdy base. Once that was done she poured it into the mold, making two halves of the ring with each pour and then hammering them together while they were still glowing hot. Her efforts were rewarded with eight little metal pieces and a single solid ring, although the shape was less than normal. The inner part was not a simple smooth surface, rather more of an indented slot that looked like it could hold a small square object.
By the time Light walked in Para was working with the small metal pieces, putting them together with some hard-light to create small legs with single joints. It was very basic, but would serve its purpose. She begun attaching the now four complete legs onto the ring, speaking without looking up, "Morning dear, apologies I did not wait but I couldn't help but get a head start. Oh thank you~" Once the legs were attached she stopped working and took a long sip of her tea, "Most wonderful... Anyways, you are correct to an extent. It won't be anatomically correct to technically be an Earth arachnid, but that is the general idea. It won't serve for a shield however, oh no. This is for a bit of a more grander project of mine, although that isn't a bad idea, something that would end up being a great asset to both us and humanity." She took another extended sip, "Ready to test it?"
Light had no idea what it is but Para looked like she is really happy to work on this. So it was probably a really good think, he couldn't wait to see how it works and what exactly it is. He took a sip of his tea "Hmmm... looks like it will be another great device!"
Light looked at weird device and started thinking what could it do. "I am glad you like it! I started experimenting with the tea, It is not just a simple tea from the shop. " Lady Pqra wanted to test weird spider thing. Light answerd with the cocky voice "You bet I am! Well... as long as it won't be a deadly cannon or a bomb that will blow on my face."

Para took another quick sip before setting her cup down, "I would certainly hope this will be a great device, otherwise all this nonsense with Morion would be for nothing. Well... maybe not nothing but this is my real reason for working with him. Our key to saving Earth and winning the inevitable war." It crossed her mind that she had yet to really talk about this with Light yet, perhaps it was time to explain herself. Para took a seat on an empty part of the anvil so she could face Light, "I suppose I haven't really explained my motives have I... allow me to clarify before proceeding too far, yes?"
She took a deep breath, "You see, while I agree with Morion on many things and can see his brilliance, there is a key difference between us. A very fine line that keeps me from putting myself in his direct service. As you're aware he wishes to move much of the population here to another planet where they will have another start. He wishes to simply run off because, while he is working far outside normal parameters, he isn't quite ready to take the leap to outright defying the Diamonds."
Para began to grow a little shy as she started going from facts to her own personal feelings, "I'm not one for talking about myself, so I'll just say in short that I can't agree with such actions. While Morion says he is in touch with humanity, I think he only knows enough to serve his needs. Perhaps I am wrong, but his decision to simply run away seems to imply he doesn't quite understand how much humanity values their homes. I've started to realize that this little planet holds a lot of importance for humanity, it is their only planet after all. And I uhm..." She coughed into her fist, clearly a nervous reaction, "...I can understand their attachment to this place. I myself have grown fond to certain aspects of it."
Pausing for a moment she took her tea and took another sip, "After all, they have a certain claim over this planet seeing as it is their place of origin. They should not have to move, we should. And for that..." She got off the anvil and turned back to her current project, "...we'll have to face some form of conflict. And when that happens, we need something to level the playing field as it were. This will be just that." While she didn't mention it, Para still had intentions of following up on Morion's requests as well, partially because she was technically indebted to him (no matter what Morion said) and secondly because it was likely the best 'Plan B' available.
"Now," She walked to the back of the room and opened a locked box that had been within her possession since taking over the forge, revealing a bubbled gem plagued with obvious corrupted spots, "time to begin."
Para really never told Light about her motives. "Of course, I am listening."
Para was telling simple facts, it was hard to not agree with her. However something was wrong... she acted like she was hiding something. It was nonsense of course, why would she hide something from her right hand? Light would never tell anyone about her secrets if there was no reason. "I also understqnd what you mean. When I was living in Morion's ship I was missing something... my old gem room, rancho. Similar rancho on ship just couldn't replace it."
She mentioned that they need plan B. It was true that the war between Gems could become reality. First gem war in the history to save Earth. Light was hoping that there will be another way than fighting, he wasn't the best in it, even after some training. "Heh?"
Suddenly Lady Para bringed box with the bubbled and corrupted gem inside. Pearl had no idea why she had a gem here. "I don't understand... what do you want to do with this gem?" Light now was nervous but he knew that his friend wouldn't hurt a fly.

Para stood over the box for a long moment, waiting to see Light's reaction before pressing on. Perhaps there was a chance...
"This, my dear, is sadly where the whole 'making enemies' comes into play. What I... we are going to be attempting here could be groundbreaking, but is equally questionable as it is potentially powerful." She lifted the bubble out, revealing its orange tint more clearly. "This here is a corrupted bismuth that was trapped within the Forge when I first arrived here. It nearly got me, but using the door mechanism I was barely able to outsmart it and poof its form, to which I've been keeping its gem safe here until I could figure out what to do with it." As she talked Para walked over to the anvil with the bubble in both hands. Her voice was rather neutral as usual, although there was an underlying nervousness to the whole ordeal.
Her eyes looked the gem over, fascinated with its discolored look, "What I wish to achieve here is unorthodox Light, but if it is as successful as I hope then not only could it give us an edge it could help countless gems. Corrupted gems previously thought to be helpless. In a way that is far more, as the humans would say, 'humane' than what Homeworld would have in store for them."
At this point she left the bubble to float above the anvil and turned to Light, "As has always been the case, if you ever feel your faith in me or this project failing then do not hesitate to say so. But what we could do here could change everything! We can give these poor gems new forms, something to keep them less... feral. With our tools we can create bodies of metal and light, vessels for these gems to help beyond what would otherwise be an effectively fatal state." Quickly she turned back to the anvil and gripped the bubble, "There is no time to waste."
Light wasn't sure what is the meaning of this. However he saw how Para was acting... he saw how she was talking. There was no doubt that something is wrong. Gem started acting nervously, he grabed the table so he wouln't fall. He just looked scared but he tried to hide it so he tried to not look at Lady Para. Finnaly he thought that he fond out what was she trying to say "Ohhh! So you found a way to heal them, right!... right?"
Para mentioned making bodies for them... now everything was clear. She wanted to use corrupted monsters as a power sources. This was a hard topic for Light and he was against something like that. Para also used to be against something like this. Was it still the same person?
Light couldn't believe what she just said. He always was a really emotional person. If he had a heart it would probably explode."Huh?! No! It isn't you! I-" Pearl froze before he ended his sentence. He looked like a dead person, no emotions... while he was usually full of them. Maybe it happened because of him being a prototype and too much emotions?

It became painfully obvious to Para that she was slowly losing Light's confidence, he had such a similar reaction to the last gem she tried to bring in on her plans... but perhaps she could salvage this. She had to. There was no way she could lose Light too.
Perhaps he just didn't understand, a bit of naive confidence grew, "No, as far as my research has shown there is no way to guarantee the healing of a corrupted gem. But this is the next best solution! If my theory is correct then this won't just be some simple artifacts, oh no! This, this will be different!" Para walked across the room and pulled out data pad that she then used to show Light a blueprint depicting a rather bulky looking mechanoid. It was humanoid shaped and everything, showing a specific placement for a gem such as the bismuth, "The gems in these things will have a mind of there own, they will be able to live again, to help the cause!" She grew somber for a moment, "I admit this isn't a perfect solution, but there isn't any way to simply cure all of them. It's either this or just keep them locked away in a bubble. But at least, with these plans, they can do some real good for this planet. And perhaps, once the fighting is done, they can be decommissioned once we find a permanent solution. So I'm asking you," She extended a hand to Light, "Please trust me on this. I really do just want to make this world a better place."
Light was listening to Para's words, it was painful. He ignored her hand and tarted approachich the exit door, still looking at her "No... no.." Suddenly he fall because of the some kind of machine on the ground. "This won't be different! You have no idea how it feels like to be connected to the machine or artifact!" It made him cry a little. Being a power source is one of the worst thing that could happen to gem. You are losing energy and hope that you will become a normal person again. You feel like nothing more but unwanted battery, the only thing you are good at. Pearl was against using gems like that.
"You are not Lady Para! She would never do such a thing! I.. I... don't believe this!" He got up from the ground and run away. He left the room, it was posible to hear his foots and than there was only silence.
"It can't be true! It can't be her!" Light couldn't believe that Para would ever want to do that. He just knew that someone is controling her... someone forced her, it just couldn't be real Lady Para. "I will save you... like you saved me. I promise."
(I think it is the end of my role here. I have no idea what else could I do. Good luck with your thread ^^)

Para's somber disposition grew into worry, once again it was all falling apart around her. Every time she made a step forward it all came crashing down into ruin! First Fulgurite now Light...
She couldn't even speak, she couldn't seem to find the right words that would make him stay. Sure she didn't understand how exactly it felt to be in a machine, but she really did believe that this could be different. This could finally be her magnum opus, the development that would cement her standing in history as the one who won the war for the rebellion and brought peace to this planet. But for the second time no one understood... they refused to understand.
As Light was making his leave Para managed out what was barely a whisper, "Light... no..." a hand grasped out into thin air as if trying to hold onto him, despite Light already being across the room. And just like that he was gone, leaving her alone in the relative silence of the Forge.
What happened next was by no means a pretty sight, part of her was glad no one saw such a moment of weakness, as she fell to her knees before the anvil and began to weep. She bundled her hands into fists and covered her eyes as tears streaked down her face, why did everyone leave her at the slightest hint of progress. Why did no one trust her to do the right thing, even if the methods may seen questionable. "I can't do this alone..."
She stayed like that for quite some time, not wanting to move from her seated position. But she couldn't just wallow there forever, even if she might want to. No, this changes nothing about the situation out there. With or without Light, Homeworld would still make a move on Earth and she would have to be ready. Even if she was alone.
Para pulled herself up and looked to the half-finished project on the anvil, slowly gripping the hammer off to the side. She looked it over, a determined fire growing in her eyes, "But I will if I must!"

Working with renewed vigor, born from rage and shock from the last few events, Para hammered in the final details to the little crab-mechanoid before turning to the corrupted bismuth. Time for the moment of truth, although she was hoping to share this moment with someone else. She popped the bubble and slotted it into the center of the ring, taking a slow step backwards to watch the results.
A few moments later the legs of the device began to twitch to life, each clicking around aimlessly until it finally seemed to get its baring and stood itself up. Despite having no real features such as eyes the little robot walked around the anvil exploring the edges as if exploring the boundaries of a pen. Once that had finished it seemed to stop looking around, until Para snapped her fingers a couple times above it. That seemed to grab its attention, the robot sort of titling its body as if trying confused.
It seemed to be a flying success, the mechanoid was harmless! That was until its movements grew more... sporadic. As if something came over it, the robot began to act strangely, its legs jutting out as random times and scratching against the anvil. Just as Para was growing uneasy the robot made a move, springing forward it jumped onto Para who just barley managed to bring her arms up to protect herself.
The legs of the disk were rather sharp, digging into Para's form and repeatedly struck at her trying to inflict as much harm as possible with such small limbs. It wouldn't really be able to do much had it not been for the unfortunate placement of Para's gems, both in her rather vulnerable palms that were currently trying to pry the robot off of herself. Such efforts rewarded her with a sickening scraaaaatch as one of the four metal limbs found purchase in her gem, leaving a long but shallow scratch.
Finding a sudden burst of strength from the unexpected pain that shot threw her hand, Para finally threw the bot from herself and onto the floor where it turned onto its back and struggled much like a turtle. Acting on instinct Para grabbed her data pad and activated the Forge's defense systems, blasting the robot to pieces. When the smoke cleared little remained, aside from the corrupted bismuth gem that Para quickly bubbled away again.
With that sudden chaos ended Para fell onto her butt and sat there with her knees clutched to her chest. The scratch in her gem was painful, but not immediately life threatening. Sure if she left it unchecked for too long it would grow out of control, but after that cascading failure she just wanted to sit there and mope. Yet despite being alone, she could almost swear she could hear a voice whispering in the back of her mind. It was faint, and eventually it seemed to disappear, but she couldn't place the source. In fact, in the chaos and confusion she failed to notice a rather small yet all too present discolored splotch now present on her injured hand...

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
