Para shook her head, "No offense taken. Though you seem rather misguided if I may say so. Just because we help all gems in need doesn't mean we can't be rebels as well. The point of this is to save as many lives as we can, to limit gem death as much as possible. Fighting may happen, it is likely an inevitability, but in the meantime we can help everyone get by in these tough times. And hopefully when fighting does begin, what we do here can limit how many gems have to be lost in what will be a costly war."
As she continued talking Para reached back and held Light's hand to comfort him, "I admit that yes, there is a defense system of sorts. While this is a somewhat neutral zone I know that Homeworld will eventually turn its wrath here, and if we want to continue saving gems then we will have to defend ourselves. It's a last line of defense, one that has thankfully never really had to have been used."
She was about to correct the Agate about her suggestion that they were superior before they corrected themselves, "All gems take a toll from this conflict, whether you are the toughest quartz or shyest pearl. We are all gems, equal in standing yet skilled in our own fields." Para nodded a few times, "The situation is a sad one. I'm afraid Homeworld won't just leave neutral gems alone, in their eyes they are just as bad as rebels. No one can force you of course, but you will need to realize the same thing I did very early on." Her eyes became fixed on hers, almost as if she was looking directly through her, "If you wish to be truly free, and to remain as such, you will have to make a difference. That does not have to mean fighting, but you will have to make a stand somewhere and dig in your heels. Because Homeworld will not just give you your freedom without a challenge."
Para offered Agate her other hand, "If you wish I can help you, I can teach you. It is never too late to do the right thing, to make that stand and achieve something greater than yourself. This planet can be saved, if not for all the humans, all the animals, all the plants, then do it so that you can be who you want to be! So that you don't have to be what Homeworld says you are, you can make your own life, your own destiny."
