(So rules for this thread, each gem that responds get a single post, showing the reaction of your gem to the message! Simple right? Reaction posts only, ONE per gem!)
It was growing dark out, the sun had retreated back far enough where it was hard to see anything of it short of a lovely orange glow that dipped over the horizon. Night was taking back what the sun steals from it every morning, small creatures and noises returning to the sleeping world. Not too far in the distance was the busted Comm Hub, unknown if it will ever be used to contact really anyone anymore, at least out in space.. but maybe it can still send out a broadcast across the planet.. or most of it anyways.
Not far from the Gem structure was a small, dim green light. Slowly treading towards the facility. Finally the figure reached their goal and swiftly snuck into the Hub. Variscite was the gem who managed to get inside, looking for some kind of control panel or really anything where he could interact with the broadcasting system. No more then an hour goes by, finding Varis once more, this time close to a torn open control panel. Wires leading out from it that lead up to some kind of tri-pod stand, atop the stand was some kind of video camera. Varis stepped before the camera, reaching out and flipping a single switch. A red light flicked on and a faint humming could be heard as the little device powered up.
"Hello.. my name is Variscite, and I am a Crystal Gem.. I kn-know a lot of you watching don't know me, or even wanna see me shattered.. there are something things I wanna say.."
He was speaking loud enough to hear but.. he seemed shaky, either way his eyes locked onto the video lenses, something a bit more was hiding behind his green eyes.
"I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody
knows things are bad. It's like a
de-depression... Everybody's hiding or scared of losing
their gem. Homeworld is running wild in the cities and
there's nobody anywhere who
seems to know what to do with it. There's n-no end to it!
We know we shouldn't breath air and our food is something we aren't suppose to eat. We sit
watching TVs while
some local news caster tell us that today we had 15
dead Rebels and 10 more that were cr-cracked
, as if that's the way it's supposed to be. We
know things are bad, worse
than bad... They're crazy! It's like everything
everywhere is going crazy, so we
don't go out anymore.. We sit in a hole and slowly the
world we're living in is
getting smaller and all we say is 'Please at least leave us
alone..'
"
He stopped for a moment.. looking down before returning to look at the camera, passion filled his green eyes.
"But I'm not going to
leave you alone... I want
you to get mad! I don't want you to protest, I don't
want you to riot.. I don't know what you should do.. I don't know what to do about the depression
, and Homeworld, and the corrupt running amuck. All I know is
that first you've got to
get mad. You've got to say 'I'm a Crystal Gem dammit!
My life has value!'. I
want you to get up now... I want all of you to get out of
your chairs. I want you
to get up right now, and
yell: "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take
this anymore!' If you feel what I feel.. if you see what I see... then join me.."
As soon as he finished speaking the camera died... but his message was indeed broadcasted all over the surrounding areas.. now he wondered.. was anyone even listening?
