How long had it been since Lapis returned to her Kindergarten? It had certainly been long enough for her to lose track of the days—though it would have probably helped her to have started keeping track of the days since waking up in the ocean, if she were going to track anything. The last time she returned to the Kindergarten, it was more of a brief fly overhead than an actual return. But even from high overhead she could see how desperately vacant it all was, and at the time it had filled her with such an existential sadness.
But she felt a little different now, with everything that'd happened since then. She landed in the Kindergarten and let the water fall away from her arms. She looked around. It was still just as empty, and still sent a chill down her body. Though... it was now more than the absence of gems that bothered her—it was the absence of everything. But she still felt a pang of nostalgia for the place, and the combination of these two feelings left her even more uncomfortable. Regardless, she began her walk through the Kindergarten.
"Hmmmm.. duhmmmmmmm.... baaadadadada....." It was some kind of strange hum? Song? A tune even? It seemed to be coming from multiple holes in the walls. There was one hole not too much farther down the walls of the kindergarden from the blue gem wondering down the path. A light was shining out from it aswell as the odd voice, "Bummmmmmmm da bum boom kaboom!"
Before anyone had gotten to close to the hole there was a loud bang that was clearly coming from inside the Kindergarden itself. Smoke and ash billowed out from inside the tunnel. "Pfffffffft! Too much! *Cough* Ok really bad idea! Reeeeeeally *cough* bad!" Out from the smoke popped the top half of a Bismuth, Bizzy to be precise. Covered from head to toe in dust and dirt, rocks stuck into her hair. Coughing out large amounts of dust and... more dirt onto the ground before her before pulling herself out and plopping bust face first into the ground with a grown.
Bizzy was more then happy to just remain on the ground for now, not like many gems came though here anyways.
Peridot had faced a strange issue, unlike the challenges she had from before. She lacked manufacturing. Any parts she used would have to be scavenged, lest she cannibalize her equipment. At current she needed some structural supports for the Communication Hub as it seemed some rebels decided to break the structures holding everything in place. She knew where she could find some materials with the stress rating capable of holding up the heavy equipment of the Hub. Even better, she wouldn't expect anyone, gems specifically, to be lurking about. She had landed her Roaming Eye on the outskirts of the Kindergarten and sent it off to hide in the clouds like usual. It was only a few hours later that she had a small pile of the sturdy legs of the injectors set aside, humming along to herself as she did so. An explosion rang the walls of the Kindergarten, and Peridot's scream was barely registered above the noise. An injector almost fell onto her and she considered herself fortunate to have survived her own mishap. Peridot tapped the side of her visor and the music in her ears stopped. Looking around and listening she finally heard what she thought was a voice. Taking careful strides, the technician soon rounded a corner as she looked for the source of the voice. "Hello?" she called out, looking at a pile of rocks and unsettled smoke.
Lapis looked so alarmingly puzzled when she heard the humming. Of all the things she expected—now that she had any idea of what to expect—tunes were not one of them. But it was enough to lure her to the source. Detours were fine. She wasn't in a hurry anyway.
When the explosion rang out, Lapis also made a startled yelp and leaped into the air as if to fly. She hadn't summoned her wings before doing this, and so fell back to the ground on her butt, staring out at nothing with a deer-in-the-headlights expression. She picked herself up, brushed herself off, and summoned enough water to sit around her arms just in case she needed to make a quick escape. She continued towards the sounds.
When Peridot came into view, Lapis paused and tilted her head. Then she hurried over to her and began with "Peridot? What—" Before pausing to also watch the settling smoke.

The smoke slowly settled around Bizzy, she was still on her back covered in a good bit of dirt and rocks. Still not moving as she took the time to gather herself, slowly she began to sit up. Coughing up a bit more dust and holding out her hand she coughed another large gritty looking rock, "Blug.. Yea... I messed that one up..." sitting up still was with Bismuth. Blast shield still down over her eyes and cupping her audio receivers, she was unable to really hear anyone talking for most of that.
Reaching up with one hand she presses the side of her face for a moment and her visor vanished in a teal blue shine. Finally getting back to her feet she dusts herself off a bit before turning and... wait gems?! While looking around she spotted two gems standing close to each other. A blue one.. a Lapis gem? Then a Peridot too, great. One of the more pompous gem types she wasn't too keen on.
Letting out a slight sigh rubbing her forehead, the 7 foot tall gem began to walk towards the two, "Huh... feel free to tell me why you two are here? Protocol and all ya know? I'm Bizzy or er.. Bismuth. Bizzy just fits more, but alot of um..." Glancing back to look at the hole she had been blown out of for a second, fair to say they saw that. ".. dangerous things happen here, not to mention that its in such disarray already from lack of upkeep.." Turning back to look at the two again, hands firmly on her hips while he awaited a response.
As the smoke cleared and Peridot was finally able to spot the other two gems. They were the last gems she had expected to encounter here, but she had also expected the Kindergarten to be empty. "L-Lapis??" she stuttered, just as surprised to see her here. Bizzy caught her attention and Peridot was stunned in awe for a moment. 'A bismuth!' she thought and her eyes seemed to grow wide, pupils dilating a bit. Her thoughts wondered if she had found the answer to creating the parts for the Communication Hub, since a bismuth would be better suited for the task of creating structures over a Peridot scavenging some injector legs. She was lost for words for a moment before speaking to Bizzy. "Peridot, Facet-5 Cut-9XN." she recited, quickly rendering a diamond salute, though she quickly clasped her hands together with an eager smile afterward. "I'm just here collecting some parts for a project." she explained, before turning to Lapis. She was too curious as to why Lapis was there to continue talking.
Watching Peridot's eager smile, Lapis immediately relaxed as well, and smiled up at Bismuth. "Um... I'm Lapis." She said, apparently forgetting to make a diamond salute or mention her specific cut and facet. She held her hands together and let the water slip away from her arms. "I'm just here to find my hole, since... well this is my Kindergarten. And I wanted to visit it again." She looked around. "So was it... you making all that noise? And if so, do you need help with something? Because that sounded like an explosion." She slowly glanced behind Bismuth. "...and looked like an explosion..." Her gaze slowly returned. "Or, maybe you're fine. I don't know since-" She lightly tapped her own head. "I don't think I can remember what Bismuths are used for."
Giving the Peridot a nod as she gave her name and cut and all that boring stuff that she knew the Peridot was about to say. Bizzy rolled her vision spheres slightly, "A Peridot wondering around my Kindergarden and stealing things, gotcha." turning to the Lapis, it was hard for Bizzy to not smile while looking at the smaller gem. She bent over a bit still holding her hands at her hips, "I am just fine! I was indeed making all that noise.. I don't think you wanna help me unless you enjoy blowing things up! Its fine, I'm not very important ya know? Just a Bismuth, we are workers and builders, I specialize in demolition, So I clear the way for future gem structures or I carve out a canyon into the land for colonization." She had returned to her full height, and held out her arms as if presenting something, and she was. The whole Kindergarden was mostly dug out by herself.
Looking back towards the little blue gem, "I'm sure we can find which hole you came from.. or you might already know? Im not too good at remembering stuff like that." her smile faded and letting out a slight unneeded sigh she crosses her arms under her bust, looking down at the Peridot, "I'm guessing you want something from me?" she asked rather gruffly, clearly not the same happy and excited voice as when she was speaking with the Lapis. Clearly a bit more interested in helping the Lapis then even speaking too much with the Peridot. Most of her run ins with Peridots involved them yelling and demanding things from her.. still doesn't mean she won't do her job and of course do whatever it is they ask, but she won't be happy about it or while doing it.
The change in tone of Bismuth's voice went unnoticed by Peridot, still all too happy to see a builder of gem tech. Despite the announced specialization in demolition, she had a hard time swaying herself of the opinion that this bismuth could assist her with rebuilding the many busted gem sites on Earth. Hearing Bismuth speak to her, Peridot stood with her hands on her hips and a grin on a her face. "Well you appear to be presently assigned so it wouldn't be efficient to dissuade you from your current work. However, I am currently attempting to repair a gem site and the assistance of a skilled builder would decimate the time required to complete such a task solo." she announced, then looked to Lapis and back to Bismuth. "However it would also be inefficient not to complete Lapis' objective first, given that her destination and task are here, whereas mine are not." she stated, before looking back to Lapis. Her smile wasn't there, but she did look at her with the warm familiarity that a friend would.
"I know where it is. I went back into my memories earlier and found the way to my hole." She looked between the two of them, and tilted her head with minor confusion at their willingness to come with her. "Oh, does that mean you're coming with me? I mean, if you are coming with me then I don't mind, and if you are then I'll try to help with repairs and... explosions... in any way I can." And with that, she took off in the direction of her hole with a bounce in her step.
Assuming the others came with her, they eventually made it to a place where Lapis came to a stop. She grinned and looked up. "There it is!" They had come to a point where they would have rounded a bend, and at this corner there was an outcropping of a ledge suspended somewhere higher up on the bend. There was a hole in this outcropping, adding an extra hole to this otherwise specifically uniformed wall of holes. It almost appeared as if someone forgot to remove this outcropping initially, but then neglected to do anything about it and instead tried to utilize it for maximum gems. However, this hole was significantly smaller than the neighboring ones. And it was horizontal. With a laugh, Lapis flew up to it and crawled in. She lay inside scrunched up in the fetal position. "It's just like I remember it!" She called down to them.
