Picture
Solace is a rather strange looking girl, her waist long flaming red hair filled with white barrettes (which give the appearance of flakes). Her odd yellow-orange eyes seem to burn anything they look at, and her nearly translucent skin has no color to it. She's a rather short girl, only around 5'4" (though can be shorter if she appears around 15 or so), and practically skin and bones. Though she looks rather frail and weak, don't underestimate her. Her strength comes from speed and her abilities, so watch out.
Solace's outfit is also rather... unique. A ripped, long black dress-like shirt covers her top and upper thighs, with only a small equally as black pair of shorts covering her legs. Though they end before her shirt, so it actually appears like she's pant-less. Her knee high socks are also just as dark as the rest of her clothing, ripped along several places, and ending off with a pair of white sneakers. Her clothing contrasts extremely with her skin tone (or lack there of), giving her an almost death-like appeal. The strangest thing however has to be her collar, complete with a few leftover, dangling chain links, still attached from where her bindings held her back. What people are unable to see is the two halves of a dark green gem attached to a bracelet on her right wrist. It's her most precious, valued possession.
Personality:
Solace is a rather quiet girl when you first get to know her, and so it's hard to get a read when you encounter her. She's rather suspicious of people right off the bat, but is actually pretty warm and accepting once you grow close to her. Sol is actually quite the hyper spirit, and it's pretty safe to call her unpredictable, just like the flames she influences. The girl hates being bored, always looking for something to do, something to hold her attention for more than five seconds.
Her name is rather ironic, for instead of being a comfort for grief, she tends to think that other people's pain is interesting. Amusing. Funny. Hilarious. After she lost her precious Demantoid, the gem who was 'born' to be her companion, her love, she can't feel any loss. And so it's entertaining for her to watch other people suffer. It's her favorite pastime. Though, don't take Solace for a completely cruel Gem. She won't touch a single hair on an animal's head. They're way too cute for it. Especially Rabbits.
However, don't mistake Solace for a patient person. She's fairly short-tempered, with a fiery anger that can't be surpassed. Too much has happened to her for her to ever have a long fuse. If someone calls her 'Puppy' or by her Experimental Name, she loses it and transforms into her Corrupted Form, not caring of the consequences. In that form, she's completely merciless, uncontrollable with no restraints. This is mainly due to something akin to PTSD. Having been experimented upon, 'punished', and 'educated' by those who created her for the ultimate goal of becoming one half of an ultimate weapon, Solace's only rock was Xander. And with him gone? Her mind is basically broken. When people mention her history in certain ways, push words in a very specific manner, or push her buttons in the correct format, she'll have flashbacks of her past. Horrible ones. Ones that, for the most part, induce her Corrupted Form into coming out. What's worse than that? That form doesn't care about it's own safety, happy to sacrifice it's own well-being for the pain of others. It just wants to see the world burn. And on a deep, subconscious level?
Solace does too.
Likes:
Fire, warmth, animals (ESPECIALLY RABBITS), being entertained, burning stuff, exploring, making friends, the pain of others.Dislikes:
Cold, water, The Crystal Gems, Earth, being bored, having enemies, being stuck on Earth, living without Demantoid, Humans, Gems that help/like Humans.Fears:
Being alone forever, being stuck on Earth forever, dying, drowning, storms, never seeing Demantoid again.
Weapons:
Her weapons of choice are very similar, the Kusarigama and the Manriki. Both are Chained Weapons, however the Kisarigama (affectionately named Slicer) is more for slicing, obviously. While the Manriki (named Crusher) is for a more forceful blow. Slicer and Crusher are both able to grow their chains to whatever length Solace desires, however the longer they are, the more difficult it is to control. Their chains are both red hot, though appear to be black, and flames coat every inch of their endings (a blade for Slicer and a club-thing for Crusher). Slicer is faster, easier to control, and easier to set up traps with. However, it's defensive capabilities is rather weak, and it's attack power is lacking. Though it makes up for it with being able to attack more. Crusher is the opposite. It's slower and harder to control and bulky and noisy, but man. You don't want to get hit with it. Crusher does exactly what it's name implies. It CRUSHES. If you are unlucky enough to get hit by Crusher, man. That's quite some force put behind this weapon.
Ability 1:
Pyrokinesis - Solace has the ability to manifest and control fire. The gems on her hand glow as she uses her ability, along with her eyes, and fire is able to be started by the stones in her palms. With the fire, Solace is able to mentally manipulate the fire. Whether it be it's shape, intensity, size, or anything else, Solace has the utmost control over the flames. After all, this is what she was made for. Because of her ability, Sol is unable to be burned, is unaffected by heat or cold (since she can just summon flames to warm her), and is able to use the fire however she likes. Whether it be for an armor type deal, creating little fire elementals (though they can only a fraction of her strength. For example, say she made 3 little Elementals. They would each be 1/3 of her strength. 4 Elementals would be 1/4 of her strength. 1 Elemental would be as strong as she is), adjust the color of said flames to entertain herself if just barely, and can even force the flames outwards in a jet-like manner from her palms, giving her the ability of sorta-flight. However, her flames won't do much against water. Or anything that can block fire or is fire proof. They are just flames after all. And no matter how good Solace is at manipulating fire, it's only that. Manipulation. No one can REALLY control fire. It's unpredictable. It's stubborn. It's alive. And another fatal flaw that her ability has is that Solace is unable to produce any fire if her Gems are wet. At all. Which is why she doesn't sweat, since it would create water. Which would stop her fire ability. Though, it's not as if she relies entirely on her ability to produce flames. She still has Slicer and Crusher after all!Ability 2:
Super Speed - Solace's molecules are like fire itself, constantly moving and vibrating with incredible energy. While that could mean a lot of things for her, it has one major side-effect. She can move at insane speeds. Solace will always be at least twice as fast as her opponents (unless they have super speed themselves), and uses it to her advantage. However, while the Super Speed is nice and all, it just affects her speed. Not her reaction times. Not her brain power. Not her rate of healing. Just how fast she can move her limbs. So while in super-speeding-mode, Solace is prone to running into things. A lot of things. That's mainly because she can't react fast enough to stop herself. Sure, her limbs could probably stop, but her mind can't process in time. That, and the momentum of her traveling would crash her anyways. Sol also has issues turning when running. Straight lines are her friends. Curves are mean. Typically, it's very easy to see her path and where she'll end up because she really can't turn all that well. Things go wrong when she tries to. Like tripping and falling. A lot.

None yet, though if you want you can plot with me.
History:
Her first memory was complete darkness. Sounds, muffled behind rock and wall. Voices she couldn't understand. Lungs heaving, unable to breathe, tightness surrounding her body, unable to move. But then... light. Cracking in front of her, stones giving way to a hole carved in the canyon that was made just for her. Air, clean and yet filthy at the same time. Figures in white coats. Voices that talked about her. From her peripheral, a body with the appearance of a male emerging from a similar fissure in the rock, a hole just for him. It was cold. Too cold. From her palms, flames burst, lapping at her skin, nipping at those around her. Voices turned urgent. Hands reached for her. Black.
The girl awoke sometime after, collar tight on her throat and chains surrounding her, hands encased in a bubble of water. The other male was there as well, chained to the same wall as she, still unconscious. Not knowing what to do, what was going on, or who she even was, she simply waited. He woke up shortly after, just as confused as she was, and exactly as helpless to figure out what was going on. Eventually, the door to the white room opened, and the figures from before, those with the white labcoats, stepped inside.
Gems. The girl and the boy and the figures that wore the labcoats were called Gems. The girl, who was named Subject F30S9, and the boy, dubbed Subject D30X4, were manufactured in a place called Kindergarten. That Gems are the Master Race. That they should be and would be the supreme rulers of the Universe. The rightful leaders. The humans that inhabited the planet they are currently on are nothing more than pathetic little bugs that were born to be squashed by the greatness of the Gems. That F30S9 and D30X4 were the protectors of Kindergarten, those that would fight for their Superiority, for the domination of their kind. Their people. Fire Agate and Demantoid were created to kill the opposition. Guard the purest of Gems. Those who had the correct mindset on ruling the stars above. F30S9 and D30X4 were fed this information over and over and over again, forced to see the Gem's greatness. Pledge their allegiance to their Creators. The figures in the White Coats. Become nothing more than glorified slaves.
For hundreds of years F30S9 and D30X4 trained around the clock, hardly stopping just to rest in order to get stronger. After all, if they were weak, the White Coats would just Recycle them. And the pair didn't want that at all. Over time, the two of them grew exponentially, able to take on anything that the White Coats threw at them. They were ready.
Time passed in a blur to F30S9 and D30X4, on constant guard of Kindergarten. Their orders were to keep all the intruders out, and all the Gems in. No one broke in. No one escaped. Not on their watch, at least. As the years sped by, the two Guardians of Kindergarten noticed something between them. A spark. The spark quickly turned into a raging inferno. The pair couldn't deny it any longer. They were in love.
Though, it was more of an obsession than true romance. They were the only company they had. The only ones that made sure the other stayed sane through the slaughter of their own kind. Gems that tried to run for freedom. Gems that tried to rescue their comrades. It was hard, keeping their minds balanced. Sane. They leaned on each other so much that it became unhealthy. They depended on one another. No Gem, no person should ever need someone as much as they did. They gave each other their names. Solace and Xander. To Xander, Solace was as playful and loving as a little pup. Innocent and kind and energetic. Hyper and just plain adorable. Fluffy. To Solace, Xander was as quiet and gentle as a rabbit. Intelligent and fast and happy. Cautious and yet oblivious. Puppy and Bunny, names only they were allowed to call. If someone else even dared to utter those two names in their presence, they wouldn't be alive within the next moment to even apologize. Or think of apologizing. It was just for them. They alone were able to give each other cute little nicknames. Brush against one another. Make each other blush or smile or laugh. They were made for each other. Just F30S9 and D30X4. Solace and Xander. Puppy and Bunny. Fire Agate and Demantoid. They were going to be together. Forever. Well... if only.
Solace doesn't remember what happened that fateful day. Only that when she woke up, all she saw was ruin. The Kindergarten that had been her home for the past thousands of years was destroyed. Countless Gems were on the ground, cracked and shattered and obliterated. No one around her survived. Or at least, their physical form. That included Xander. Solace looked down by her feet and saw his Gemstone. That brilliant, deep green that she loved with all of her heart. Split right in two. Solace picked up the two halves and stared at them for the longest time.
And then she started screaming.
And burning.
Burning everything in sight.
The walls of Kindergarten were covered in soot and ash, the gems that were lying on the ground incinerated. Never able to reform again. She held onto the two halves of her former love with a frightening desperation after her savage and mournful attack, sobbing as she pressed together his Stone over and over, begging him to reform. To come back. The Corruption set in.
Ever since then, Solace has stayed in the ruins of Kindergarten, protecting her little area with all her might. Though, after that horrible day, her strength had disappeared. It was like she had just been reborn again. But she didn't understand why. She couldn't remember it. However that didn't stop Solace from making a pledge.
She would find whoever destroyed her home. Her Bunny. And she would destroy them. Bit by bit. Piece by piece. Molecule by molecule. She would make them suffer and grieve just like she had. To cry and mourn and scream before she ended their lives. And then she would move on to the humans and complete the work that the White Coats had programmed into her. They were insects. And she was the Exterminator.
If she couldn't be happy, no one could.
