Name: Rose Quartz (Prefers to to go by Pink Quartz oftentimes, seeking to avoid the stigma attached to her Gemtype)
Appeared Gender: Female.
Appeared Age: 20
Gemstone: Rose Quartz. Faintly heart-shaped.
Gemstone Location: Just below the base of her ribs.
Faction: Homeworld
Corrupted:(No)
(If Corrupted)Monster Form: NA
Appearance: Taller and slightly svelter of figure than her infamous namesake, Rose Quartz, or, Pink Quartz as she prefers, towers at roughly 10' feet in height.
Personality: Rose Quartz lives perpetually in the shadow of her traitorous sibling-Gem and namesake. An extremely new gem, freshly grown only 2 years ago, Rose Quartz was born into high status..... But also suspicion and distrust. She is utterly loyal to Pink Diamond, and serves her personally as a sort of aegis-figure in her Court. Because of her high station and youth, she is naive, snobbish, and somewhat arrogant. But below that is an ocean of insecurity-- Rose Quartz hasn't been fully trusted by anyone from the moment of her birth, because of what another of her kind did, and she lives with constant anxiety and paranoia, suspicious that any Gem she meets doubts her motives and sincerity. She turns her insecurity into a fierce, icy sort of allegiance to her Diamond, and often comes off distant and aloof.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes: -Pink Diamond. -Displaying her abilities. -Intricate architecture. -Art. -Neatness. -Homeworld/Gem culture. -Herself. -Giving orders. -Helping others. -Seeing the creation of new Gems. -Being approved of and given positive attention.
Dislikes: -Suspicion. -Being doubted. -Death. -Being left alone or ignored. -Decay. -Harsh noise. -Seeing her Diamond disatisfied.
Fears: Pink Diamond's disapproval. Being marked as a traitor. Being dismissed from Pink Diamond's Court. Earth. Rot and decay. Corruption. Deformity. Being shattered.
Weapon: Rose's weapons take the form of twin defensive gauntlets that can absorb and deflect massive amounts of most kinds of energy. They are essentially refractive shields affixed to her arms. While extremely durable, Rose's vambraces can be overloaded with extreme amounts of energy-fire, and, upon being dissipated, must have one cooldown post before they can be re-summoned.
Ability 1: Aegis- Rose is capable summoning protective bubbles much larger and much more durable than the average Gem. Said bubbles share and may be responsible for Rose's Gauntlet's energy-absorbing abilities. Under enough punishment, however, they will eventually overload, and rapidly explode outwards, redirecting all the punishment that was fed into them over the course of their existence into a 360 degree blastwave. The size and range of the detonation depends on how much punishment the bubble endured before exploding, but generally does not extend for more than 12 meters or so. With practice, Rose may be able to direct the detonation in one general direction or another. If an Aegis is pushed to its limits and detonated, it cannot be re-summoned until three cooldown posts have ocurred.
Ability 2: Healing-Bubble- By concentrating, Rose can turn the energy of her bubble towards healing. All life-forms, including Gems, within Rose's bubble, will gradually recover from nearly any degree of damage. Containment within Rose's healing-bubbles will hold death at bay in the case of otherwise fatal injuries, but may not be able to fully repair the damage (Completely broken Gem, decaptitation in a human, etc) unless all components necessary for life and function are close enough together to heal back together. If the conditions for mending are not met, the individual will die as soon as they are no longer within the bubble, or shortly after. When the healing-function of Rose's bubbles is active, they do not posses the same defensive power as when comitted to Aegis function, and can be breached with roughly the same difficulty of, say, one of Steven's early-series bubbles.
Fusions: NA
History: Crafted only a few scant years after the conclusion of THE Rose-Quartz's rebellion on Earth, Rose Quartz was grown with bleeding-edge Kindergartening technology, and designed to correct the problematic tenancies within older iterations of the Gemtype. One of only a very select new Generation of Pink Quartz units, she was created specifically to serve as a guardian for Pink Diamond on her voyage to subdue the chaotic Earth colony. She was also made to serve the purposes of a very blunt political message-- The traiterous nature of one Rose-Quartz would NOT be allowed to define the entire Gem-type.
A walking piece of propoganda, Rose Quartz was designed to subvert her namesake's infamy and prove that the Diamonds did not fear their own Gems, whatever the circumstances.
Rose Quartz has spent the short two years since her birth undergoing training-exercises and being paraded as a symbol of the Diamond Authority's resilience and trust in their own ability to create loyal Gems. Recently arrived to her Diamond's moon-base to undergo further training, possibly in-field, and serve as Pink Diamond's personal shueld, she is both eager to serve her purpose, and extremely anxious.
Character Arcs: -Rose will arrive at the moon colony, meet several Gems present, including her diamond, and be shown displaying a combination of pride and deep fear as she trains under senior Homeworld soldiers to learn how to better serve her role.
