Euclase's words might as well have been pulled from 7XB's own lips, articulating their own thoughts on the matter fairly well.
It would be a lie to say that one got over the death of their comrades- 7XB was a quartz that knew that as well as any- but a gem could always content themselves in the knowledge that, as Euclase said, their friends had died for something greater, something much greater than any one of them could ever be: Duty, honor, the ideals of the Diamonds.
And, as she had so elequently put it, a better universe.
They smiled lightly, giving a little nod as they turned to face her, extending their hand towards her with their palm faced downward, fingers wiggling lightly, "Be my guest."
Though they had already possessed Paramount respect for the medical gem, they couldn't help but feel a little more so now.
The Drones floated idly over, rotating and twisting around the Clear gems hand. At the same time, Euclase had pulled more drones out, forming a screen to help display the results once before. It was with a tiny beep that the drones completed their work and a small lists of results came up on the screen, all bearing ticks and marks of approval. With a resolute nod she spoke once more to the gem "Complete reconstruction, no cracks or scraps, not a single wayward molecule. I dare say your gem is as shiny as the day you emerged." She informed the soldier gem, adding as a afterthought "Your almost perfect natural clarity probably contributing to the fountain being able to do such"
"As I mentioned before though," She tapped away at the screen once more, bring up a series of complicated diagrams and text, seemingly unrelated to what she was saying "I do recommend a reform at some stage, I hear the V neck Diamond Design is all the Rage nowadays for Quartzs." She beckoned the gems that had scanned Clear's gem to return to her pouch "Most of mine seem to have it" she added with a shrug, her eyes glanced down infront of the screen at her own hand, twisting her wrist to look at her palm as she closed her fingers "I should probably do one myself at some stage, its been what," She paused, trying to recall "2 millennia give or take"
As much as 7XB enjoyed being reminded of just how flawless and clear their cut was (and really, who wouldn't?), It was Euclase's next comment that drew their attention. Absently, they turned their head downwards, eyes cutting towards their own chest, berift of any decorations or Diamonds.
A reform? Though it had been mentioned earlier, the Quartz had never really had any problem with their form.
"Eh, I've never really kept up with the style," they admitted with a sort of light grin, "I'm.. well, I've grown rather fond of my look." Truthfully, this had been their original form, and they looked no difference today than the day they pulled them out of the Kindergarten; And with their gem freshly repaired, they might as well have been a new quartz.
"I've always been a little more fickle I suppose when I reform." Euclased noted "Either way, we still have a task at hand. With the Kindergarten investigation being marked as a failure, completely due to my own hubris, and the corrupted gem extraction proving to be a success, we still have the third objective. While our stockpile is not low, getting more of the healing essence from this fountain is always beneficial, considering the current situation on Earth. So I need to gather a few Bubbles of the liquid to transfer into our stockpile, hard part is over now, so we should be able to rest easy." She explained "Timing is going to be close though" She added as she reached down to the liquid and summoned a bubble below the surface. Her second hand reached down to create another bubble as she directed the first bubble to float behind her, she continued speaking as she did this. "If the storm hits too fast we are going to be fairly grounded. I'm very nervous about flying in this tempest and don't want to risk us crashi-"
The Bramble near the fountain that Euclase had inspected and dropped before, lashed out, like a snake extending to strike at a target. It seemed almost like it had been lying in wait, moving, every so slowly when Euclase had taken the first bubble out of the fountain. Almost unnoticeable as it had slinked that first few inches. Before it now attacked, trying to strike down the target who was liberating the liquid from its basin.
Nodding absently at Euclase's words, the quartz turned again to face their own reflection, distorted and fluxing as the rain drummed against the surface of the pool, heavier and heavier as the tempest grew ever closer to them. Contemplative, they began to draw inward before their companion suddenly grew silent, whipping their head in her direction with a quick rise to their feet- the first flash of lightening from the descending storm muting the light of their summoned gauntlets, the quartz propelling themselves forward, hoping to, if nothing else, knock Euclase out of the path of the assaulting vine- the last enemy they had expected to face.
In a way, it angered them, like the Earth itself was trying to corrupt and reclaim this haven of gemkind.
Euclase had let out a small 'oof' as she was shoved roughly, the vine twisting slightly to correct its course as it tried to compensate for the Clear Gem forcing its target away. Proving to only be partially effective in its endeavour. The thorns of the vine tearing across Euclase's left Shoulder as she was shifted, a significantly less fatal target then the intended torso shot but never the less, something that left its mark as she landed roughly in a sitting position on the ground. Her left Shoulder piece torn roughly, with a majority of the fabric hanging somewhat limp, the spherical shoulder piece looking almost deflated now with the tear in it, her shoulder and part of her arm underneath having a gash dancing across it where the thorns and vine had briefly raked across her skin. The severity of the injury partially alleviated by the fact That Clear's own mass had smacked into the vine itself aswell, and like a taut hose that was struck by someone in the middle, it caused the vine to whip rapidly in Clears direction thanks to the rapid change in the pivoting point.
There was a expression of shock on Euclases face as the entire situation played out, only replaced by a hiss of pain as she instinctively tried to reach for the edge to push herself back up. Her damaged shoulder disagreeing somewhat with the notion of movement just yet.
The onslaught now began in force. More vines, easily 5 or 6 now and growing, began slithering and whipping towards the two gems. Their focus partially shifting now to the Clear Gem as they reeled upwards, ready to strike down on the Gem who stop them from reaching there target. Two moved first sweeping vertically downwards to try and hit the Clear Gem with their combined force, a third one arcing downwards instead to try and latch onto the Quartz's feet. While this occurred 2 other vines began shifting towards Euclase once more, incentivising her to fight through the pain and move back up into standing position, biting her right glove and tearing it off roughly as she covered her wounded shoulder with her right hand. Not daring to turn around and take her eyes of the vines as they slowly moved towards her, as if trying to block any exit route.
Though they were unable to keep Euclase entirely out of the way of harm, 7XB still counted themselves successful in the sense that at least the other gem was still in one piece. A growl of annoyance passes their lips as the sentient vine coiled itself around their leg, preventing them from razor dashing the lot of them into salad.
Blades sliding cleanly from the back of their gauntlets, their original plan to slide the prickly vine changed as 6 more appeared out of the woodwork, their arms raising instead to brace for what was sure to be an unpleasant assault.
Eyes cut for a moment to Euclase, voice rising above the angry thunder. "You alright?..might need some help, here.. eventually." Despite the odds, the Quartz still thought they could handle these vines.. but how many more were coming?
"You alright?..might need some help, here.. eventually."
Euclase was about to answer but the moment she took to glance at Clear the vines approaching her whipped forward, She dived roughly sideways to avoid the strike as she whipped her hand up, out of her pouch launched two of her Drones, slightly piercing into the each of the vines that had attacked, she clenched her hand shut causing the drones detonated in a blue explosion. While the explosion was small it had blown a rather hefty chunk out of the vines, causing them to fall limp, apparently out of commission. She forced herself back up once more, turning to face Clear now.
Unfortunately for Euclase, the dive had forced her to remove her good hand of her wound to fire the drones, leaving her shoulder and by extension her left arm mostly out of commission. The small healing she had done hardly covering the wound, like a person had hastily taped across section of it with hardlight, still leaving massive gaps where the form was still damaged.
While still in combat Euclase had shifted past her initial shock, and now she only had a question, Why were they attacking them? If it was a defence measure why did it wait until now, if it was just a natural thing, why attack and target her first. Unless... Euclase knew only one way to test her theory, she twisted around and pulled another bubble of water our of the fountain. As if on Queue, the two vines attacking Clear Vertically whipped around to the Blue gem and charged forward for her. A moment of realisation spread across her face as she started realising what was occurring, it was the water. They were meant to stop gems from taking it away,No, stopping Homeworld from taking it away, to stop Homeworld from USING IT.
The other vine still latched onto Clear's leg loosened, almost as if it was unsure who to target now, as Euclase seemed to mutter to herself in disbelief "They Wouldn't".
That momentarily hesitation was all the time the Quartz gem needed to react, the white-hot blades sliding swiftly from the embossed design upon the back of their gauntlets, whipping to slice away the slack tentacle that had, until now, had them quite firmly in it's grasp. Knowing just how little time they had to react, 7XB seized the moment and began to spin-dash forward before they even had a Target in mind.
Unlike Euclase, they didn't have the grand oversight to put together exactly why this vines were attacking them- just the fact that they were being assaulted was more than enough to spurn them into action. And it didn't take long for them to find a source on which to focus their aggressions, moving to intercept those growths whipping towards the other gem and, ideally, shred them like weeds in a lawn mower.
((I like how when we started this we were around the same rank, now you have just flown above me, i guess it makes sense though you are a Quartz))
This was the type of war they were fighting huh? Strangle Homeworld's hold on the fountain so they could protect this forsaken planet, spare no thought to the thousands of gems who would be gone without this healing liquid, no, the rebels clearly need it more right, out of all the gems to do this, Euclase never expected that a Rose Quartz would do it, she would assume that out of all gems, a fellow medic would spare this target. Obviously not.
The vines were decimated in a flurry of plant matter as the Clear game made contact with them, leaving the vines severed and dead. Despite this though more seemed to grow outwards, from behind statues, through entrances and from bushes. All moving towards the gems, bramble bunched together in clumps of tens and even twenties, like a green serpent targeting its prey, there was three, four, five, groups of these masses of plants all with the same target in mind.
Euclase spoke, her voice uncharacteristically low and fast "They are after me,after the Bubbles i created. The bramble is meant to stop us from taking it away" There was a distinct click "we need this though, our stocks are running out, and with the rebels here its not been safe to get anymore. We need to get this back, we need to cut a opening, there is too many to fight when they separate, but I have a idea" One of the closer Bramble reared up like before, ready to strike down on the targets, splaying out slightly so that even clear would not be able to block all their blows.
There was a small glow as Euclase took a powerful step past Clear Quartz letting out a grunt as she launched something with a powerful side arm swing, the mass spun in the air winding around one of the brambles and locking the bundle back together tightly, its weight throwing the creature off as it was forced down back to the ground, the Blue Bola locked firmly around it like a weighted noose, trying as it might to loosen itself from the weapon.
"I'll contain them you sever them when they are forced into a mass" She commanded as with her good hand she ripped a second Bola out of her now uncovered gem, spinning it quickly as she prepared to launch it at the next target. The onslaught began once again, the other clumps lashed forward, trying to splay out into as many targets as possible, their attacks were erratic though, not timed or working as a group, and this allowed Euclase the best chance to herd them. She launched a second Bola at group of them to their left, the Bola catching several vines in its trajectory, tangling them together as the rope of the bola wound around the group of tangled foliage, locking them and forcing them to lurch downwards from the weight.
"Now!" She yelled, indicating for Clear to strike the tangled unit in one sweeping attack.
Even as she yelled she pulled a Third Bola and launched it at another group of vines, wrapping them roughly together as they tried to block their path, Euclase was slowly moving forward, her bola acting as a marker for what group Clear should attack next as they slowly made they way through the army of bramble, trying to head back towards the exit, Euclase's 8 bubbles following behind her.
Now THIS, this was a game the quartz soldier knew how to play, an almost serene mask of determination locking upon their face at Euclase's command, as well as a great appreciation for the medic gem's creative plan to even the odds.
She was right: it would be unrealistic to attempt to fight each of the brambled vines individually, but cutting through a clump of them with their hard light blades would be as simple as cutting through a bamboo mat. They lunged forward on her command, easily decimating the first thorny ball, stone ground to dust easily beneath their great weight as they propelled themselves towards the next target, then the next, moving with the force of a train run off it's rails.
The two gems drove forward slowly, forcing their way through attack after attack, despite the angles, despite the numbers, Euclase always managed to gather enough for a Clean strike by Clear. Occasionally a vine got close and was roughly pulled away by another wayward Bola. All things considering Euclase was doing rather well with her speed, considering that she was resigned to only being able to throw with her undamaged arm. The fatigue though was beginning to set in, as they pushed up the stairs and made there way through the arch her throwing had began to slow. There was only a short distance left to the ship though, and the bramble out on the hard dirt was thinning, less vines seemed to be assaulting them as they moved.
Continuing the summon her Bola she kept containing those stragglers that were still chasing them, rain falling down on the two gems, lighting and thunder screaming through the sky as the visibility kept dropping. Over the rain her ragged breathing could hardly be heard. With no time to pull out her drones Euclase smashed a button on the outside of the ship, the door opening and the ramp falling roughly in front of Clear
"Go" Euclase Said between breaths, indicating from Clear to enter the ship first as she threw another bola at a group of vines. The storm was nearly upon them, they didn't have time for Clear to cut more of them, at this point the Blue gem was gather the last few, as to make sure they could not restrict the ship. Over the howl of the wind and the fog of the rain one slipped past, a single vine, stretching to the limit managed to slash towards Euclase as she moved up the ramp after Clear. A single flash of lighting blinding her at a bad moment as she twisted around to face the inside of the ship and guide the bubbles in, the vine swung at her left heel, while it didn't retain a firm grip the spikes tore at her Achilles tendon,or at least where one would be on a human. She faltered for a moment before taking the final step and slamming the back of her hand into a button to seal the door. It roughly rose up behind her, cutting the vine of as she leant roughly against it.
Her face full of determination, driving through the pain she dropped the bola roughly on the ground, ripping that arm across to her pouch, the small drones raising out and forming a screen.
"Hold Onto Something" She warned as the Pods engines roared to life. her finger press firmly on the holographic display, apparently she had interfaced straight into the ship through her drones and was piloting it remotely "and look through the front window,i need you to tell me whether im going to hit something" she added through a pained cough, The ship rose up roughly into the air, moving directly skywards. Going sideways would be too slow, she needed to break the cloud cover or risk getting shot down by the tempest itself. For a moment they seemed in the clear, but then, there was a taste of iron in the air, and a split second later a arc of plasma struck a few meter's in front of them.
From where she leant Euclase could not see the direction of the lighting, she would need to rely on Clear making the call about which way they needed to dodge.
Bolting into the rather tight pod with a speed unbecoming of their rather wide statue, 7XB anticipated Euclase's coming command almost as soon as the door shut behind them- she wasn't exactly going to be getting up soon with the state she was in, but the electrical energy in the air tinged with danger, practically leaving the taste of batteries upon their tongue. Not to mention the battering the fragile mechanisms of the pod would take if the hostile flora decided to take another stab at them.
The pod almost teetered with the speed the quartz used to being themselves against the front most port, "Diamonds!" They exclaimed with a wide expression at the white hot vein of plasma that clawed up mere meters from them. "Right! Right.. then up." Came the much clearer response. It took everything they had to keep her from going straight up as soon as possible. They had to get out of this static storm, but if they were struck this ship wasn't going anywhere. In the distance came another rumble, a warning. "Quickly, if you please."
Then, as suddenly as they had spoken, another spark meet the clouds to the left.
Abruptly and somewhat more roughly then normal Euclase relayed the commanded back into her screen, dancing through the torrent of light, blasts of plasma illuminating the screen as the ship lurched right then upwards, the tiny amount of static discharge still dancing through the air. The ship was making progress though, punching more and more through the cloud layers. They were so tantalisingly close when the ion aligned to their left and another discharge erupted downwards and through the clouds, this one was fast, closer then the other, nearly ontop of them even. Without much chance for warning Euclase simply jerked the controls hard upwards to avoid the blinding light, tiny forks of the current danced on the surface of the ship reaching for it with its electrical grasp just as it managed to push through the clouds above.for a split second a nasty shock ran through the ship, not enough to be deadly, more akin to a Taser then anything else.
Euclase gritted her teeth as the current for a second ran through her form, as quickly as it arrived though, it left leaving her with no new major injuries. She let out what amounted to a sigh before using the last of her strength to reset the ship back to auto pilot. There was a thud as she slid down against the wall into a sitting position, her head slouched, her eyes closed. Exhausted, injured only just awake, but still in one piece.
At first they seemed to be working well in tandem with the other Gem despite the very real and present danger of their situation. 7XB had some experience with lighting, having been on at least a handful of planets throughout the galaxy with an environment similar to the Earth, but nothing nearly as dangerous as the maneuvers they were attempting now.
In truth, the Quartz commander had never thought of lightening as a real danger. Well..until now that is.
They almost allowed themselves to believe, for a moment, that they would be able to Breach the cloud cover fairly unscathed; That was, until the sudden jerking upwards sent their face into the porthole, causing them to give real thought to Euclase's earlier suggestion: a reform.
Pondering this thought, they could still feel the electric energy causing their muscles to coil until the shock subsided.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
