Post by Pyrite, Who Sort of Exists on Jul 5, 2017 6:08:26 GMT
Name:
Pyrite
Apparent Gender:
Female
Apparent Age:
Early twenties
Gemstone:
Cubic Pyrite
Gemstone Location: One on each shoulder, on her actual pauldrons.
Faction: Homeworld (for now)
Corrupted: No.
Appearance:
(forgive the really meh depiction)
Personality: Pyrite is, on the surface, a rather reserved gem, holding herself to high standards due to her rarity and position in the caste system. However, when it really comes down to it, she's a kindhearted, mildly lonely soul, and would likely be absolutely miserable, were she to be unfused from her other half.
Likes/Dislikes:
Pyrite really likes Pink Diamond, but isn't as ought to like Yellow Diamond, due to her harsher rule. She also likes those who view her fusion as something they have no say over, and merely let happen. She does very much dislike the stigma for being a "perma-fusion" a fusion who remains fused even following battle.
Fears:
Being Forcibly separated, one half shattering, both halves shattering, the ire of the diamonds
Weapon: Glaives (x2): A large, shuriken-like throwing weapon which can deal quite a bit of damage before dissipating, allowing for the summoning of an additional glaive, to continue throwing at the enemy.
Ability 1: Advanced Shape-shifting: Pyrite is capable of maintaining a different form for much longer, capable of changing her height, build and even her hue in order to assume the form needed for the mission at hand. This allows her to infiltrate a group by taking the form of whomever she pleases.
Ability 2:
Pyrokinesis: The fool's gold girl can, as a last ditch effort or in a very emotional moment, burst into flame, sending a small shockwave of fire around her in about a 5 foot radius to escape. Typically, depending on if done intentionally or not, this will also divide Pyrite and Pyrite back to their smaller selves.
History: Pyrite was produced as most gems are, being planted in the ground and bursting out with great force. In her kindergarten, another Pyrite burst forth, and the two got along swimmingly. As they both were sent on their first mission, an infiltration of White Diamond's Court, they both realized how difficult it was to go it alone with missions like this. They both served under Yellow Diamond, used for the few situations in which the Diamond needed recon or any sort of infiltration. Time went on, and the two began to bond further. Being a gem with no real need for increased power through fusing, she thought nothing of it, assuming that nothing would ever bring her to fuse, even with one of her own kind. Then... it happened. The two had been assigned to a mission on Homeworld, to investigate some sort ofpossible insurgency within the new-ish colony. As they approached their target, they both realised that what was going on was a bit too much for one gem to handle, and so... they teamed up as a few hostile gems approached, and as it seemed they were lost, they fused! They, no, she felt amazing, stronger, as a bigger version of the two of them. They completed the mission nigh-instantly, and returned to homeworld, reporting as the one, rather than two. Yellow wanted them to unfuse, ordered them, even. But she didn't want to. Her diamond tolerated it... for a time. She kept up missions to Earth, and as the call to return to homeworld was going off, she was in the midst of a mission in which she was invading a group of rebels, to find out some sort of plans. She valued the mission more than the call, defying a direct order from her diamond in the moment that would mark her as useless, despite thinking more of the mission.
Character Arcs: "Even the other diamonds won't care about you." Eventually, Pyrite will realise that nobody's coming back for her. There's no ships coming to help. Even the diamond she looked up to, Pink, wouldn't bat an eye. She had defied an order, she would realize. Multiple, in fact. She had not immediately gone home, had not unfused when told to. It was inevitable this would happen.
"Will we be together forever?" Pyrite and Pyrite will consider their relationship, and what it really means to one another. Are they just friends, for power? Or is there something... more. And will anyone else be involved in it?
"I think I understand now..." Pyrite will realize whatever faction she joins has a real cause, a real reason to fight, and sympathize with it, extensively.
