Bloodstone smiled as the three of them walked into the conference room
"It's been alright. I've been splitting time between here and the shack I have back at the beach. I'll admit it's...not easy though. And you didn't have to enforce..THAT hard Chip. I appreciate your help but I don't want to be too strict, y'know? Keep up a good public image and all"
She sighed and sat down in one of the chairs, looking over at Chip and Padparadscha
"So, what is it that you two need help with? I'm willing to help as much as my resources allow but..can't always 100% guarantee everything."
Bloodstone shrugged, she wanted to help the best that she could but had no idea how easy or hard this may be
The sapphire took her cue and climbed up into one of the seats near Bloodstone. She maintained her own smile, a subdued show of her respect for the gems in the room as she folded her hands together and rested them in her lap. It was interesting to hear Bloodstone make reference to Chip's recent work, and the sapphire made the realization that there seemed to be a casual air around this gem that she hadn't expected before. She studied them more closely, and tried to decide how would be best to approach them-- more reserved, or more open? If she went off of the forthright behavior she'd seen from Chip, and the ease with which Bloodstone seemed to speak of current events, she decided to keep herself more relaxed as well.
She peered down to her communicator, then back up to Bloodstone as she thought of how she would answer."Ah, well, you see, I've ended up in something of a predicament. I was ready to take lift-off after a completed mission, but before my pearl and I could leave the atmosphere, there was a...well, something went wrong with the gravity engine. There's a damaged component inside. We've contacted the base, but it could be hours until a technician arrives, and it could be even longer for them to do a diagnostic check...then finally repair the vessel. I figured it would make the wait shorter if I could do the diagnostic check and component search on my end before the technician arrives, so I headed into the city," She turned to gesture toward Chip,"Where I met with Chip the Fire Opal, who ended up saving me from a feral human,"

It was good to see, that Bloodstone accepted them both without a problem. His new position didn't spoil him as it seemed. With the limited stuff that was left behind it had to be difficult to run this entire tower, not to mention the rest of the city. Chip will have to talk about that some more, but not now, not when Sapphire was here.
He just listened to what she had to say. It seemed, that she could get help from the Moon? She didn't mention that... it would be the easiest solution. Then again he wouldn't stay either, he hated just waiting, when there was possibility to do something.
"Feral human? It was just some crook... and it was nothing. He probably wanted to poof her and make her into jewellery. I heard that it happens from time to time... human consider gem valuable..."
Bloodstone nodded, listening to the two gems explain the recent events, even smirking at the feral human remark that Padparadascha made
"I see...well, sounds like you two got yourself into quite a situation. I have no idea how much I can help you in terms of ship parts but, at the very least I think I could offer some help with the technicians I have on hand."
She smiled and sat up, looking at the two of them
"I can't guarantee how long it would take for you to get a report as in comparison to the Moon Base but..the staff here can move fairly quickly if given time. I'd say at the VERY least an hour or two, depending on how extensive the repairs are"
She stiffened at mention of becoming jewelry. The thought that she had been a moment away from becoming some human's pendant was enough to make her feel queasy, and she cast her eyes to Chip. It was hard for her to express how grateful she was that this gem had managed to appear in the right moment, though she supposed that the Protector of Empire City was always on the look-out for trouble. "Ah, well, that crook was no match for you," She gave a genuine smile, and relaxed a bit.
At Bloodstone's words, the sapphire almost stood with excitement, but managed to keep herself grounded. She'd been worried that this debacle would push back her schedule by a whole day at the very least-- which meant a monumental kind of failure that Padparadscha could not, and would not suffer. Being constantly on the job was her modus operandi, even when things were going wrong. To be sitting idle for hours couldn't be tolerated, especially when there was so much work to be done.
"That would be more than excellent, Lord Bloodstone," She beamed,"Though there are more gems on the base than ever, those gems are extremely busy, myself included-- with current events and all, as I'm sure you can imagine. My pearl had send a request for back up quite some time ago and still hasn't gotten back to me about it..." She wondered for a moment at that fact, and peered down at her communicator once more. Nothing. It seemed strange to think that the base wouldn't have responded by now, but she kept quiet on that notion.

Chip was just sitting there. This was mostly a dialogue about Sapphire and Bloodstone. Chip had nothing to add. He would like to talk to Bloodstone some more but now wasn't the right time. He was curious how he ran things... what happened to all the gems left in Tower.
What happened with his room? He used to have an entire level in this Tower. Most of it was unused, but he had really great room with a lot of stuff. When he left this tower the thought he will never come back, that he would see Morion everywhere. But so far he was perfectly fine.
He just looked from the window and waited until those two got some kind of agreement.
Bloodstone smiled softly, glad to see the sapphire getting more excited as the talks went on
"First off, you don't have to call me Lord, I'm not all for the formal titles and such. Second, I wish I could help you figure out what was going on up at the Moon Base...we might have some communications that could get up there but it would take time."
Octi sighed, wanting to help as best she could
"So..tell me, how close is the ship to Empire City? I can get my technicians out there or we could possibly park it near the upper levels and work on it from there. Just give me the details, worker amounts, and I'll handle the rest!"
The sapphire's brows floated up a bit at the gem's request to keep things casual. Gems on Earth often seemed to be more relaxed than those who bustled around headquarters-- many took on nick-names, like Chip, or otherwise shed their titles. It made her uncomfortable to a degree, she always preferred to regard things as they truly were. If Bloodstone were truly the Lord of the tower, she'd want to address him as such, yet she didn't want to overstep any bounds. She considered that this gem was employing a similar tactic to her own; openness and friendliness were often the best, easiest ways to attain trust among gems. Barriers of status could be used in the event that one overstepped, but it would otherwise serve to more effectively reach her goals.
"Ah, Bloodstone," She gave a subdued smile and a nod to show her understanding, then moved on,"I'm sure the base will get back to us in time, though it sounds as if we wont need them to!" She reached for her holoscreen and flipped open her coordinate grid of Empire City, then expanded the view. A pink blip flashed on the screen and she pointed to it,"Here is my vessel. As you can see, it's just outside of the city limits. Unfortunately it's incapable of flight at the moment, but if you happen to have a carrier ship, I'm sure it could be brought in closer. The installation of the part itself shouldn't be too difficult but I imagine that a small team may make things easier for your techs,"
She turned and caught Chip gazing out of the window as she finished speaking. The sapphire wondered what the young gem was thinking about-- it seemed he had a lot to dwell on, perhaps too much for a gem of four years. Before she could be pinned for staring, she turned back to Bloodstone, and pulled out more files,"This is the diagnostic grid my pearl was able to retrieve from the ship's panel, I'll go ahead and share it with your engineers,"

Chip was still looking from the window. He just had nothing to add to current situation. So he listened passively. He found funny, that Bloodstone would have a ship. The number of working ships on Earth was most likely in single digits. He knew about none. There was one invisible, Morion mentioned it was some bounty hunter's, but that was probably long gone. The other was the Derelict and that was gone too...
"But you are Lord and Protector of Empire city right? When Morion left he gave the position to you, didn't he?"
He asked to be sure. He was suppose to leave with Morion, so he didn't care that much. Chip had no intention of becoming lord of Empire city, he was happy being just Protector of Empire city. But since Chip was Morion's apprentice, all of this might be his... if he wanted. Which he didn't...
Bloodstone looked over, listening to the two of them talk
"Of course! Well....technically Lord/Lady but same thing"
Octi shifted between their male and female forms to demonstrate but smiled, going back to the female projection before looking at the various files that the Sapphire was pulling out, making mental notes of all of them
"Very well..I don't remember if we have a carrier ship now the Derelict's gone. I'd have to double check the hangars. As for the engineers, I'll make sure that they get the proper tools necessary to install your parts. I suppose it could take...about an hour or or so to get them ready, depending on how quick you two want to get this thing fixed"
She turned to regard Chip as he spoke up on the same matter that she'd been pondering. If this Earthling fire opal found the dropped honorifics strange as well, perhaps it wasn't an Earth custom. Rather, it seemed to be a part of the amiable nature of Bloodstone. It was a welcome change of pace to meet gems who were so well intentioned, she hadn't expected this kindness. She also didn't expect to witness the shape-shifting as she looked back to the presiding figure over the tower. The sapphire had never really done it herself, though shifting was considered an important function for many gems. It provoked her curiosity, but she decided to proceed without questioning the gem who was extending such valuable help to her.
"Wonderful! Take as much time as is needed for a sound repair. You have my absolute gratitude-- truly, this will save my work! " Her voice carried a genuine warmth, then she turned to give Chip a smile,"Thank you, defender, for bringing me here, and for helping me understand Empire City better. I'm in debt to both of you for all of your help,"
Post by Chip the Fire Opal on Aug 18, 2017 9:24:21 GMT
"Yeah... sorry I know you as "him" so I keep with that... it get's all... confusing. Too much for my little gem. I hope that it doesn't bother you..."
Gems technically didn't have genders, but most he met picked one. Bloodstone was... flexible. At least it seemed that Pink Sapphire and Bloodstone were able to work together well.
"So... I guess my job here is done? You shouldn't even mention it... I am trying to help anyone who needs my help. I think my Diamond would want me to help her envoy, wouldn't she? And if you ever need my help again, just call me on my communicator... "
He pulled out his communicator, a weird hybrid of gem and human technology.
"I'm quick and I know about a lot of warp pads, I can arrive quite quickly..."
"It's fine! Call me what you want, it doesn't matter in the end."
They sighed and nodded, smiling softly at the two gems
"I suppose so...I'll let you both know how the repairs go. And please, drop by any time whenever you need something. I'll always have someone in the tower and its just a quick warp pad away from my beach location in the first place. Sapphire, I'll get my engineers out there and they'll start working on the ship as soon as possible. Chip, its been a pleasure getting to see you again. Please come by for another visit"
Blood smiled and stood up, glad to have been of service to both gems, and hopefully friends as well
She'd first gone out of frustration to seek a hasty solution. Now, she had new knowledge, and new gems to add to her network. The M-tower was a valuable resource, and a base of operations for gemkind that had previously been unknown to her-- this endeavor had turned out to be far more fruitful than she could've imagined in the beginning. She followed Bloodstone's example and stood up. "This meeting has been productive! Your dedication is appreciated Chip," She beamed, then pulled out her own state-of-the-art Homeworld communicator and prepared to exchange its coordinates,"I'll be sure to let you know when I'm in need. Likewise, feel free to contact me if you're in a pinch. It goes for you too, Bloodstone-- if the M-tower finds itself in need of my talents, I'll be happy to lend them,"
Then, as if on cue, her communicator bleeped, and Pink Pearl chimed through,"Your clarity, they say a dispatch will take around eight Earth hours to complete..." The sapphire almost jumped at the suddenness of it, but smirked as she clicked on and answered her pearl.
"That wont be necessary pearl, I've come across some comrades that are able to help," She lowered her device, gave a nod to the two gems in the room, and threw up another salute.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
