She couldn't muster the courage to do it herself. Her eyes widened as Chip struck. While part of her was relieved that she didn't have to deal the blow, she had meant to save the young gem from the troubling task. She rationalized that, in the end, he was a fire opal-- a gem meant for the facing down of grim tasks, a defender. Padpara had some combat experience, and had been created with conflict in mind given her weaponry, but it ultimately wasn't her purpose. Still, she couldn't let go of the idea that she shouldn't have left the responsibility up to him as the glitching gem poofed into a glimmering pink cloud, and Chip fell to the ground.
Padpara stared at Chip for a moment, then down at the cracked, pink sapphire that laid in the verdant grass. She reached out and took the gem in her lithe hands, then stood up, and walked over to Chip's side. Placing a hand on his shoulder, she leaned over and handed the gem to him. "She'll...she'll be alright. Thank you," With a smile, she tried to reassure not only the fire opal, but herself.

Chip had to be strong right now. If he didn't heal the gem right now, it would all be for nothing. It was hard co concentrate, a lot was going through his gem. It was all for good purpose, he was trying to repeat to himself. Without looking on others, or even noticing them he held the cracked gem in his hand. Nothing was happening as Chip was concentrating...
Finally his hand and the gem he held got enveloped in golden flame. The fire was beautiful, warm yet not burning hot. Even the colour itself was soothing. Chip was bathing the gem in this calming light, but the crack was still the same. Chip was concentrating more, visibly strained he increased the intensity of the fire. This part was always so exhausting, with the inner demons that were tormenting him right now it was even more difficult than ever before.
For next 20 minutes, Chip was completely ignoring his environment, giving his all to heal the cracked gems. Finally the crack begun healing, it was slowly but surely vanishing. Finally the crack was no more. The golden fire disappeared and Chip carefully put the gem on the ground.
He said. It was obvious he was completely exhausted.

An inactive gem, was just that. Her mind was asleep, unsure if she would ever wake up again, though, she began to feel sort of warm, as if she was tucked into a fluffy blanket, sitting by the fire. Of course though, nothing of the sort was happening, and she was just being healed, sitting in some unknown gem's hand... Engulfed in fire...
...It was a full twenty minutes before the warm feeling left her, but her gem had fully healed, and was ready to reform a lot earlier then what would be normal of gems. In-fact, it was after Chip's lasts statement when her gem began to glow and had begun to reform in front of them. She didn't choose to change anything about her outfit, nor did she have time to, and everything was the same. Though, the ironic part was she still had a headache from hitting her head against the table, yet no pain from the weapons.
Though, she did have a few, barely noticeable dents from where they had struct...Those would heal eventually.
As she finally reformed, landing on her behind, she let out a slight 'Oof' as she held her cheek, where her gem was. She looked up slowly as she stared at the three most prominent gems, part of her bursting with excitement as she was finally free from the lag of time, the other embarrassed as she realized how she had 'fallen' into the situation.
It took a moment to find her words, but as she looked at Chip specifically, noticing the exhaustion of the gem... She found them.
"T-Thank you, Chip." She replied, attempting to push herself up from the sitting position.
Though as she tried, she wondered who had actually built up the guts to stab her, as she knew that Paddy hadn't been the one to. But, again, maybe it was better if she didn't question it.
Padparadscha watched in silence as Chip focused on putting the pieces of Pink Sapphire back together. The time seeped by, for every moment she was mesmerized-- she'd never seen anything like this before. The curiosity in her bubbled up, but she crammed down any questions she might have otherwise asked. It wasn't the time for questions, and perhaps, it would be uncouth at any time with the circumstances in mind.
Chip looked exhausted as the flame flickered away. She stood wordlessly by as she watched him place the gem on the ground. There was no telling how long it would take Pink to regenerate, and since Padpara had never been poofed herself, nor had she witnessed much poofing, she had little conception for it herself. As the young fire opal spoke, she didn't know what to say in order to make him feel more at ease about what had transpired.
Then, Pink Sapphire's form bloomed into existence once again, and Padpara's eyes widened with surprise. She scurried up to Pink, and almost threw her arms around the gem-- then remembered her sensibilities and contained herself. But, she couldn't stop a big pearly smile from forming on her face. "Y-you're alright! I was...worried!" She gave a nervous laugh, but then her expression sobered. There was no telling what had triggered this series of strange events, but she decided to leave it in the air. She turned to look at Chip,"Yes, thank you, I don't know what we would've done if you hadn't been here,"
Sapphire watched the young gem working. He knew that Chip was a healer, yes, but he never saw him healing before. It was obvious, that he barely scratched the surface of this power. He had trouble healing even a small crack, but if he ever refined this power further it might be a much more useful. Even Sapphire had to acknowledge that the fire was almost mesmerizing.
After a long silence, where everyone was just watching, the healing was done and Pink Sapphire reformed. Sapphire looked at the exhausted gem.
"Fire Opal... I am grateful you decided to put our differences behind us and answered my plea for help. I know we don't exactly see eye to eye, but please, know that I am exceedingly grateful for your quick assistance. I will repay this debt one day."

Chip smiled at Pink Sapphire, though the smile was a little unconvincing, though mostly because he was so exhausted.
"Don't mention that. It was the least I could do... really."
There weren't many healers left on Earth. Both sides were trying to eliminate the other side's ones to gain the advantage. And they were rare in the first place. There were probably only few ones left, most of them hiding their powers... Chip felt like had to help since he was powerful enough to defend himself. "Look, Sapphire... I didn't do it for you... let's be clear here... you owe me nothing and the less I see you the better... it's refreshing to see that you care about someone else, but you are still an arrogant twerp..."
He said. He wasn't angry... but only because he was too tired to be angry...

From observations, it seemed as if Chip and Sapphire weren't on the same terms. A negative history between them? Pink curiously wondered.
On a side note, what were they to do next, as she had basically ruined this gathering, by becoming suspicious of something that wasn't even true...
...Getting back on her feet again, she wobbled for a second as she adjusted. This may have been her normal form, but she still felt sort of... Scrambled, after her form had glitched so terribly.
She joined Padparascha in nervous laughter.
"...I-I'm s-sorry that I worried you, I had n-no intention of starting up this... D-drama." Was her reply, turning to face Padparascha, her cheeks becoming a darker, reddish pink in embarrassment. Truly, she hadn't meant to smash her head against the table, nor did she have the ability to stop, preoccupied in the past.
As she turned back to Chip again, she felt awful, and concerned for the burden she had caused him. Had she been more careful when using her powers, he wouldn't of need to come here, and waste energy on her.
This, concern, quickly began to grow as she wondered how he was going to return home now, as from what little she saw, he had flown here, but what if he didn't have enough energy to fly back?
"Hey... A-are you going to b-be alright?" The Pink gem asked, mildly concerned.
Now that she was getting a look into the relationship between Chip and Sapphire, she found her earlier curiosity rekindled. She wondered under what circumstances they'd met, and why they didn't get along now. Of course, asking such questions would be utterly uncalled for, she would have to leave it alone. It seemed that they had drawn a temporary truce, for the sake of Pink Sapphire.
As the young gem spoke, Padparadscha tried to put on her best smile as she thought of what she could say to help her fellow pink-court dignitary feel better about what happened. "Oh, ah, well," She fiddled with her fingers nervously,"Of course you didn't mean to-- I've just, well, there isn't much experience I've had with situations like...what transpired. I apologize if I may seem a bit out of place. But it's just good to see you in shape," As much as she wanted to know why it happened, she kept her mouth shut. When the gem turned her attention, Padpara turned to face the fire opal as well. She stood by quietly awaiting the answer to a question she also had wanted to ask.
Sapphire was slightly surprised by Opal's reaction, but not that much. He expected him to be unreasonable, but not quite like this. But given their relationship, he was willing to let this go.
"As you wish... that does not change the fact you were willing to help us. And that I will remember that. And, just to be clear, I do care... I do what I do because I care. Even the... unfortunate parts."
He turned to Pink Sapphire. "The most important thing is, that you are healed now. Let's not dwell on the past when it is no longer relevant. Just perhaps try to avoid doing something like this in the future."
It was an unfortunate event, hopefully she will be more careful in the future

Chip didn't feel that good. Healing was exhausting him in the best of circumstances, and this wasn't even close to that. What was much worse was the feeling... he didn't feel anything, yet... but he knew he will once he had time to rest. He didn't look forward to that time.
He looked at Pink Sapphire and tried to smile a little, it was unconvincing.
"No... no I'm not... but I think I will be."
The saddest think was, that he wasn't sure he will be... Right now he just had to rest... "Call me, if you ever need a healer... just don't spread the information much..."
His fire wings appeared again, only more transparent. Without any other words he jumped in the air and slowly flew away...

Allowing Sapphire to speak first, she waited her turn to speak as well. Though, it seemed as if Chip had more pressing matters, and as she watched the Opal fly away, she turned to the other Sapphires, slightly speechless at that current moment. This entire situation had gone by her in a flash now, and while the headache remained yet fading, it seemed that the three of them, had other matters.
Though, Pink started to nervously laugh once again, as Sapphire asked her to try to avoid similar situations. "Well... It's not really... An avoidable situationin the event I use my ability... Which as a side effect, seems to remove control over my body..." Replied Pink, her laughter fading as she pushed her fingers together lightly, her eyes looking away.
"...I can't really do anything in the event I actually use it." Muttered the Pink Sapphire, Silently cursing her defection's limitations, which were incredibly nerfed to the point of being completely useless in almost any situation. She wondered if they would press onward to what her ability was, and what she was exactly doing that caused her face to be imprinted in the table.
...On the side note, she found Padparascha's previous statement a ironic humor, 'good to see you in shape.' Quite literally, huh?
As she watched the defender of Empire City go, shouldering the burden of an event that he couldn't have foreseen, Padparadscha found her attention drawn back down to the other sapphires as they began to exchange words about what happened. Then, her brows furrowed as she listened to Pink Sapphire's words in particular. Hands clasped, she fidgeted with her index fingers as she tried to wrap her head around what she just heard.
"Your...ability?" Padpara spoke up,"You've used an ability?" Her puzzled expression was amplified by her voice. It seemed that she had gotten an answer to one of her questions, but that had only sprouted more questions, like little weeds that grated at her. She needed more answers but she wasn't sure how to tease them out without causing Pink any unneeded distress. All the same, some part of her felt that she deserved answers. After all, she'd just gone through the stress of nearly seeing one of her own kind cracked into pieces-- over what, exactly? "Surely there must be some way to...avoid this in the future? Not to pry..." Of course, it was entirely to pry, so she stopped herself for a moment to collect her words more delicately,"But, is there anything that we should know about, going forward?"
"Well, I believe all of us were using our abilities so far... analyzing the others, trying to learn something... if that was supposed to be a secret I am afraid it just might be the worst kept secret since... actually ever?"
It seemed that Pink used a more literal ability than others, but that changed very little. Whatever ability that was seemed to be quite dangerous to oneself. There should be a way to use the ability in more of a controlled manner. Injuring yourself while using it couldn't be worth it...
"Perhaps try to lie down next time before you use it? Or use your hands to keep your head? Healers are hard to come by on this planet... the precious few left are being hunted down..."
He said it once, but Pink was already... incapacitated and he wasn't sure how much she could've heard.
Padparascha's tone seemed surprised, almost as if it was wrong to use her ability, which Pink feared was the case in this situation.
Dipping her head in reply, she moved on to explain for Padparascha, as Sapphire finished his statement.
"My ability is to go into the past, and look into events that have occurred within the location I currently stand... I was, looking into something that had been said earlier, but when I tried to return to the present, I had been trapped within my own ability, and that resulted in me having to wait to see what occurred in the present." Pink replied, Looking to Sapphire as he spoke once again, his advice being sound as he offered it, and the addition of limited healers was something to note, as well.
"I'll make sure to do so when I go into the past next time, I'd hate to get stuck in that disconcerting lag of time again, and experiencing pain when you're not actually controlling your body is sort of, sickening." Pink finished, her nervous laughter returning as she remembered the sensation of being stabbed, twice.
She began to wonder once again as to who had built up the courage to destroy her form, considering Padparascha had been too hesitant to actually do the deed herself. She doubted that it had been Sapphire, yet that would mean it would have been the Fire Opal, and he was a healer, not a fighter, or so she thought.
Pink began to grow curious, did Sapphire actually have the ability to fight, and/or Padparascha too?
Her confusion subsided as Pink revealed not only that she had used an ability, but she also revealed its uses and weaknesses. It was a relief that she had been willing to share what had caused her to suddenly faint in a manner that Padparadscha herself had never witnessed, experienced, or heard of before. Her eyes flicked between the other gems as she thought for a moment.
"Of course, Sapphire," She said to the blue-court gem. In another context she might have been discomforted by the directness of the statement, but because of the circumstances, it didn't faze her,"I'm just a bit surprised. I hadn't realized there were abilities that could be so..." Compromising? Debilitating? She wondered at this ability of Pink Sapphire's. It certainly seemed to be very useful despite it's drawbacks, and Padpara quietly considered its usefulness in the field of judicial investigation. "--well, at any rate, I wasn't expecting this turn of events. But it looks as if things have become settled." There was still a glint of curiosity in her eyes, so she continued to speak as she made her way back over to the bench,"I'm wondering Pink Sapphire, what it is that you were looking into?"
