Personality: Melo Pearl is timid when it comes to people she doesn't recognize. She has served three gems throughout her life, and has not known nor gotten the chance to interact with many other gems, aside from those who talk down to her whilst her master is on frequent missions from their diamond. She has the utmost respect for her master and would never disobey any order given from them or her diamond, should that situation arise. She is a paranoid gem who constantly worries about what might go wrong, she constantly wishes she had been created as a Sapphire, as she would not have to worry about the future. She can be a creative gem from time to time, and on the rare occasion that she is not by her master's side, she will spend her lonesome by singing or manipulating the sand and small minerals around her. When under pressure, she can easily break down and begin to cry, and despite her emotional baggage, she harbors a certain distrust for all Pink Diamond gems, which she keeps to herself, in fear of being harmed or shattered. She appreciates the way she looks, and always tries to look as pleasing as she can for her master.
As a pearl, she hopes to be the best trophy possible to the one she serves. Although her shyness toward strangers prevails, she is always open minded and vocal toward her master. She constantly requires validation and can't go on with the thought that she has disappointed her master without over stressing herself and making a scene. She has a kind heart, and does her best to be joyful in public, albeit, this can change when she is in private. She harbors an almost romantic affection for her master, but it could more be described as a will to serve and do anything for them, rather than love them in the way that Rose Quartz and Greg would have loved each other. She has a nice singing voice, though, due to her shy manners, it is seldom heard, even by her master.

Ability 1:
Granukinesis - Melo Pearl has the ability to move handfuls of sand and small minerals with the power from her gem. It is relatively harmless, and she often uses it to create sand castles and structures of a similar caliber. She is, however, incapable of using her ability if the minerals or sand are underwater, or in a container such as a jar or a box (Unless there is direct air flow into the container.)

Ability 2:
Hypervoice - Pearls are known for their singing and obedience. As such, it is fitting that such a rare cut of pearl would be able to reach heights in pitch above other gems. With enough force, she can crack or shatter glass using shrill pitches of her voice. Along with this, is the effect which her hypervoice has on gems. Gems are sturdy, and most take a lot to crack or damage. Melo Pearl is capable of using the sound of her voice to make a Gem's physical form dizzy, without ever cracking or harming the gemstone itself.

History: Melo Pearl was created in the early stages of Era 1, when Pearls were first being manufactured and distributed to people with an honourable status in society. Back when the Gem Civilization was still young. Her cut of pearl is especially rare, and as such, she has been repurposed twice, and has had three masters in her entire life time. Her first Master, whom Pearl was very fond of, had been with her almost her entire life. Both her and her first master had seen much of the Gem empire grow and flourish. She had never disobeyed a single one of her masters once in her whole servant life, and furthermore, Melo Pearl certainly couldn't imagine a situation where she would even consider defying her master, or the consequences that would arise from her actions in doing such a thing. She has always been a good gem and behaved herself around other gems.
Melo Pearl's first master was shattered. Not only that, but she was shattered in front of her own pearl. Her master met this fate after betraying Pink Diamond during a direct mission given by the Matriarch herself. Ever since this traumatizing event, Pearl has had a grave tistaste for Pink Diamond and all of her court. Even then, while it has been thousands of years ever since her Master's shattering, she still spends her empty moments thinking about how she could have stopped her master's shattering, about how much she misses her. She does this in those moments where she is alone, yet she does not sing, as she normally would in her alone time.
Shortly after, she was assigned to a new master, whom she also spent a considerable amount of time with.

This new master was different, a gem named Iolite. While Melo Pearl was still grieving over the loss of her beloved first master, she had to cope with adjusting to a new one. It was tough on the Pearl, being such a small little thing, and yet having to bare through her own emotional anguish whilst she bends backwards for a new master. Her new master was a much lower ranked gem than her last. As she would listen to her master's orders and obediently do as she was told, she would begin to grow closer to this gem, yet, not once had she defied them, not once had she even seemed to be bothered about her past master in the presence of her new one. It was only in those short moments when she was left alone, that she would grieve.
She began to discover her ability to control small handfuls sand when on a mission to a gem controlled planet which had the substance on it's shores. Ever since, Melo Pearl has had a fondness for the peculiar collection of minerals, and she has used her Granukinesis to create sand castles, 'sand friends', and other creations of this caliber. Her second master disrespected a high ranking gem, and thus, was stripped of her ranking, and her pearl. After losing her second master, whom she has not seen since being separated from them, Melo Pearl was given a short grace period. In this time where she was masterless, she stayed in a temple designed for high ranking gems, living as a servant to the home. She would clean up after them, open doors for them, and essentially do all of the things that their personal pearls should have been doing.
She used the time when she was alone to grieve and panic, for she, a puny hopeless pearl, who wanted nothing more than to stay by her master's side, had lost two of them. She was separated twice, and even though the situation was simply that her masters were both reckless, her mentality couldn't prevent her from pinning the blame on herself. After her time without an owner had ceased, Pearl was assigned her third master. As Pearl had grown only just a bit numb to the pain of losing her master and getting adjusted to a new one, loving her master was easier this time around, and she loved them just as dearly as the last two. Melo Pearl is a strange gem when she is not around other people, but she always follows the ways which homeworld would approve of, and never acts out of line. Her last known appearance was during a mission to Earth, which she was sent with her master on. Their ship malfunctioned, and crashed into the planet. Her master was shattered, but due to Pearl's screaming as they collided with the planet, the glass shattered into so many tiny pieces that she was not cut in the slightest, leaving her gem unharmed. Pearl poofed, and spent the next 10 weeks regenerating, before reforming into herself once more, and beginning her travels.
