She stopped, and stared at Chip for a moment. It sounded eerily like he was confessing to treason, and she compiled all of the thing she thought she knew about this gem. As far as she was concerned, anyone who didn't make it passed a trial would be a criminal. Was he refusing to face trial, to face Pink Diamond, despite the things he had overtly said in the past and even minutes ago? Was it fear or was it conviction? She had a hard time figuring it out, as he seemed to deflate, running out of fiery wrath.
Padparadscha had been legitimately worried; she was in a compromised position, and hadn't counted on this gem turning on her like this. Meanwhile, this chatty, snarky rebel kept making faces at her when she threatened to poof her. It was becoming quite the chore to hold her form, but she wouldn't give out, not in a place or time like this-- she had energy yet to go.
Then as she continued to listen to Chip, she realized that this young gem indeed seemed afraid. She kept her relief at the fact that he had cooled down inward, and her eyes flicked to the rebel. Without threat of being shot by a gem she considered an ally, she turned her attention fully to Enstatite, and released the plasma energy that had coalesced around her straight at the gem. Enstatite hardly had a moment to lift her brows before she went up in a puff of green dust, her gem hitting the ground with a quiet clink.
The sapphire gave a long sigh of relief, and turned to push the cage out of the way, so she could grab the gem. Once it was in her hands, her gaze turned to the fire opal. Her tone remained harsh, she was still very much on edge, "I suppose it's up to you. If you came back with to Headquarters, you could get the truth, as opposed to speculations," She had to wonder why this gem seemed to prefer the surface of the planet anyway,"You could go now, or...perhaps I could give you some time to prepare?"
