Name: Tay
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: 29
Gem: Taaffeite (Purple)
Gem location: Front Torso
Faction: Unaligned.
Corrupted: 0/3 (Stage)
Appearance/Monster Form/Trapped Form/Spaceship_Temple
Personality: Hotheaded, Stubborn, Abrasive, Ambitious, and Careless. These five traits are her main, dominant traits, often being displayed when working on a project, experiment, or talking to others.
Her less dominant traits, Caring and Anxiousness, don’t appear quite as often, as her caring side tends to only show when an injured gem has approached her, or a corruption.
Her anxiousness however, shows quite clearly when under threat. This is extremely rare however, so the chances of seeing it are quite rare.
Likes/Dislikes: Tay is in love with the sciences, and mathematical regions. Making up theories and hypothesis always interest her, and she’ll never get sick of them. She loves to argue, contemplate, unless she’s continuously disproved, where she’ll begin to throw equipment at people.
She doesn’t mind the factions, but that is always subject to change.
Humans… She’s grown a nasty feeling toward the creatures of this world, and if anything, she rather preform experiments on them, or kill them all.
She hates being judged based on her size, and only her size.
Fears: Being taken to Homeworld, and either put on trial for conducting unauthorized experiments, or being forced into a role for the rest of her life.
Being threatened into creating something, instead of being fueled by her ambitions.
Losing her ability to process information quickly.
Weapon: She’s not large enough to fight properly, however she does carry a large amount of equipment with her for scientific purposes, Tay-Sized.
And many surgical knives for stabbing people who touch her stuff. (Damage output = Splinter)
Ability 1: Telekinesis. Tay is able to control the movement of objects on a X,Y,Z scale with her mind, her radius of control being 20 feet. If it falls out of that range, she will have no control over it.
However, if her gem is trapped inside a necklace, the creature wearing it, gem or human, will have a 30-foot radius to move objects with their mind, as all the gem’s energy will be focused into conducting Telekinesis.
Movable objects, include herself.
Ability 2: Telepathy. Tay can enter the mind of gems, humans, and corruption. Her ability reaches its peak every 10 threads, where if she enters a gem’s mind, she will be able to reverse the damage or corruption, however the damage or corruption reversed, will be transferred to her gem, this only applies to gem-kind, as human damage is incompatible with gems.
However, for Tay to enter a gem’s mind, they will need to repeat a statement with her. This can be anything such as “I allow entrance” or “If every pork-chop were perfect.”
With Corrupted minds, Tay can enter easily, as they are so torn apart, the barrier tends to be completely broken. However, if they are too broken, Tay cannot enter.
(Basically, if gem is not a NPC, permission will be asked first.)
This also poses absolute risk to Tay, as with every entrance into a corrupted mind, her gem will start to become corrupt, too. Preforming 3 entrances into corrupted minds will lead to full corruption, this applies to all threads.
When her ability peaks, there’s also a chance the corruption or damage will not be cured, even if she tries.
(Basically, if you want the gem uncorrupted, it can be done, however if you want, you can do a coin-flip to choose whether it’s cured, which, this will default for NPCs.)
For entering human minds, it’s the same with gems, however she can’t do much in there, as humans and gems’ damages are incompatible.
Finally, this ability also greatly enhances her ability to process information, making her incredibly fast at solving problems and smart in general. However, this will degrade with each step of corruption.
History
Thousands of years ago, there was a colony on a far away planet, ruled by Blue Diamond. This colony had depleted the planet’s resources, and was now of no use to Homeworld, so Blue saw fit to abandon the lifeless rock, leaving the planet to rot in the depths of space.
On the day it was abandoned though, a lone gem popped out of the ground. But the Homeworld gems had already left, and what she was left with, was tall, empty structures, and crumbling memories. Taaffeite, the gem in question, was unaware that Homeworld existed in the first place, as all the data terminals had been ripped out, and anything important had been taken with them.
…Except, the crumbs.
Unaware of her purpose or nature, the gem wandered planet, exploring every inch of the hollow world in the span of a hundred years. It was a dark, cold, barren planet, and even from time to time, a gem structure would collapse, echoing through each crack in the walls that remained.
The gem seemed unaffected however, always taking the crumbs she would find of gem technology, structures, and other useful items that larger gems would otherwise find useless, thanks to how much they actually needed, compared to her. She began to learn how to connect each thing together, forming more and more complicated machines every single day.
In a way, the abilities of the gem seemed to give her an advantage in this excuse of a world, her telekinesis carrying those crumbs she found, and her ability to quickly process information, allowed her to form logical ideas that slowly began to form into her first and only ship, The Galactic Jellyfish. Mind you, the name came later, but the construction had been completed rather quickly, allowing her escape to the stars.
Preparing her first launch, she entered the orbit of the dead planet, Taaffeite having trouble leaving the tough skin of the barren world. but a few adjustments to the stabilizers and dark energy converters, quickly solved the problem. Taking the gem to her first tour of the galaxy.
However, as it was her first ship, there were many problems occurring over that time, and while Taaffeite tried her best to solve each one, she was forced to land on a blue, lively planet.
When she had landed, her ship had chosen a lovely forest, away from any gem activity, continuing the Ignorant bliss that Taaffeite experienced with each passing day. The forest, which the ship had chosen, had a small clearing full of flowers, and a perfect hill which Taaffeite’s ship landed upon, setting the foundation for her new home.
Though even as the gem decided to settle here, part of her felt as if something was missing. She had no idea that she lonely, she didn’t know that part of her wanted to return “Home,” wherever that may be. She just knew, something was missing.
Over the next one thousand years, she lived solely in the clearing, not daring to explore the farther regions of the world, as the thought of wandering aimlessly, seemed to make her feel... Wrong. Instead she soon decided to experiment with the materials around the clearing, and even ventured a decent way farther into the forest to gather resources.
She started to build more, creating tools and other things that slowly turned her clearing into a lovely garden.
Though one day, someone intruded upon her garden, her temple.
Taaffeite had no idea what creature this was, it was so tall, and its body was constructed similarly to her own, but made of organic tissue. At first, she ushered the man away, whom apologized and prepared his leave.
But Taaffeite suddenly felt a deep regret at ushering him away, and quickly raced after him, asking him to stay. But to her dismay, she was bombarded with questions quite suddenly, which for the first time in her life, she had a conversation, retaliating with answers.
She and the man quickly began to become friends, and slowly he taught her math, some science he knew, and other related things, debating and solving for every question he presented to her.
The man would pass by her temple every day, though on a particular one, Taaffeite told him about her abilities, and the man began to wonder, in almost a sinister way. He started to urge her on, which she explained her theory that if her gem was attached to an object, say, a necklace, a creature whom would wear it would gain her powers, maybe even enhanced, even.
At the sound of this, the man’s friendship, had begun to fade.
When he left after the conversation, he gave her a nickname, which was odd to her, but she accepted the new name, Tay.
Little did Tay know, that this nickname would to lead her to her imprisonment.
Every day that now followed, was no longer fun. Tay was even starting to become sick of his repeated questions, which seemed to have no other purpose but to annoy her. The gap that she had once felt, had become a new emotion, annoyance. She was beginning to think the man forced himself to visit her, which made Tay upset.
But one night, the man offered to stay in her clearing, which Tay carelessly thought “Why not?” And allowed him to stay. But this was no friendly matter, for in the middle of the knight, betrayal struct.
Tay was sleeping, something the man had taught her recently, but was awoken as the roof of her temple was pulled off, the sound of broken walls crumbling around her, blinding her senses, until she was squeezed quite suddenly, her form exploding in a cloud of smoke.
She was unaware of the betrayal that had just occurred, and waited for her gem to reform, but the man in his sinister intentions, placed her gem within a necklace, which woke her to the reality of the situation, and sealed her fate.
The man had trapped her within the necklace, and her freedom.
Tay was furious, she had been betrayed! She tried to reform, but she was trapped!
Everything she had ever knew, fell apart at her feet, and as she watched with anger, the man used her powers to preform stunts for fame and money. She felt the tax of the ability throw her thoughts down the drain, and fill the lake with pain and misery.
For every stunt onward, the tax became greater and greater, until one day, the man died of old age.
At first, Tay was happy, she was finally free of the suffering she endured over the 50 years! But the emotion, changed as his son took the necklace, and discovered her powers. This cycle had started all over again, and from this generation, all the way to the last, Tay watched, suffered, and in a way, died several times.
But this day, after thousands of years, and many human generations, something clicked. More than that, something snapped.
This day, Tay went ballistic. Her pure, unfiltered rage from the thousands of years of suffering, took control of her host. And the crowd that gathered to watch his pitiful show, were her new experiments, her new…
Victims.
