Cat's Eye gave a nod towards the sapphire's comrades. "Nice to meet you all!" she said to the group of gems. Purple Sapphire's next question made the yellow gem think briefly. Cat's Eye wasn't a very long name, in her opinion. At least, it's not as long as Chrysoberyl Cat's Eye. But if the sapphire wanted to call her simply Cat, she wouldn't mind it. Turning to the youthful gem, she replied, "Sure. I don't mind." Looking over at her friends once more, she noticed the feline ears present on Junidite and Stampy Quartz. She reached up to the quartz's ears, and tugged on them a little bit. "I'm just wondering, did you shapeshift those on?" she asked in curiosity, not knowing the nature of either gem's creation.
"No," Stampy and Juni said in unison. "Jinx!" Juni yelled. "Aw, c'mon!" Stampy replied. "Mind to spoil the thing?" Juni said. "Nah, you spoil the thing!" Stampy said. Juni shrugged. "Me and Stampy, we were both accidentally synthesized with Cats Eyes like you... Making us more catlike just like you!" Juni said it like there was an upside and a downside. She knew the young Cats Eye would not like it if she said "The shards of Cats Eyes." So she didn't. "So Cat, I assume you've never been poofed? Me niether. If you're wondering why I don't have, the Insigna, it's because I wasn't meant to be made. It's a long story," Sapphire said. She looked up into the sky, remembering when she burst out of the ground, loneliness keeping things simple.
Cat's Eye didn't even know how synthesization even worked, but if that was the case for these two gems, so be it. "O-Oh... okay." She didn't like hearing that other cat's eyes went into their formation, but the fact that it was accidental made her feel a little better. "How did you know it was an accident?" she asked the two cat-like gems. After they answered, she turned to Purple Sapphire. "By the way, I actually poofed once," she pointed out. Her straight face then turned into a frown when she thought of what she was going to say next. "...Back when I served Homeworld, on another planet. It felt so... strange." Her voice then took a more bewildered tone, and the yellow gem's pupils dilated slightly. "I didn't even know what was happening!" Cat's Eye presented her uniform to the sapphire. "Thus, I regenerated with the uniform I've always had."
The purple gem's statement about not meaning meant to be made only made the gem more curious about her past. "So... Why weren't you supposed to be made?" the short gem asked Purple Sapphire. All gems have a reason why they're made...right?
"You see, I was accidentally made. And... I wasn't... Made... In a kindergarten..." the sapphire said. She chucked nervously, knowing both parts of what she just said were thought to be impossible. "It's kind of strange how I don't have the properties of a gem who was supposed to be made... Knowing my purpose, which I don't. Knowing what I am, which I have no idea when it comes to what I am. All I was made with, was the desire to hide from them," she continued, pointing to Homeword's exact location in the sky. It wasn't even night-she was an amazing star mapper with crazy memory storage. She knew the exact coordinates of Homeworld. Was that strange, or coincidental?
Cat's Eye looked up at where the sapphire was pointed, and was initially confused at first by who she was talking about. "...Who?" she asked Purple Sapphire for clarification. Shortly after she asked the question, she realized who she was talking about, and blinked, feeling embarrassed for asking the question for the first question. "Oh...! Homeworld..." she grumbled, showing her distaste in the empire. With a friendlier tone, she asked, "But if you weren't made in a Kindergarten... where were you made?" The story still confused the yellow gem greatly. It was impossible for a gem to be made somewhere other than a kindergarten, as far as she knew. But, perhaps, it could be possible? She shook her head. Something wasn't adding up about the sapphire in front of her. Gem or not, she had to find out more about the purple being standing in front of her.
"To put it simply, nowhere," Sapphire said. "But if you want exactly where, coordinates 289:67, which pretty much is nowhere." She remembered being made, so she knew where she was when she was made. The corundum then gathered up a ball of light, and thrusted it into the ground. It formed a small hole, but other than that nothing really happened. Sapphire imagined some random gem teleporting to the place she was made, and falling into a deep deep hole. Whatever gem we was synthesized to create shattered underground, anyway. Any gem could shatter from the hight she saw the dirt underneath her fall. She was glad she had the boots she did or she would have shattered the day she was created.
The yellow gem jumped at the sight of the ball of light Purple Sapphire started to create, and took a quite a few steps back in precaution. When the ball of light had disappeared, Cat's Eye approached the hole that was created, and looked down into it. After the act was done, the short gem looked back up at the sapphire. "...I have no idea where that is," she said. She was a soldier, not a pilot. She wasn't made to memorize the exact coordinates of places, all she usually knew when she carried out her missions, when she used to serve Homeworld, was where it generally was at. She was occasionally given coordinates, but Cat's Eye usually forgot the coordinates after the assignment was finished. "Is it on this planet?" the yellow gem asked. Considering it was basically nowhere, as described by the sapphire, it could potentially be a dangerous place for her to be at.
"It is on this planet," Sapphire said. "It's just where humans would describe as nowhere." Sapphire was aware of the fact that most humans have never been outside of Earth, so she understood that they had no idea what "the middle of nowhere" actually meant. She looked into the hole her light had made, and saw a rock inside. She bent down and picked the rock up, observing it. "Granite, no facet or cut.." she said. "Humans never facet or cut normal stones... It's strange. This one has never even been seen by a human, but still it is fascinating how humans don't facet or cut stones like this Granite.." She observed the dirty rock, and washed it in the nearby fountain. It came out a beautiful, Ruby-like red. "If only Gems could be normal stones..." Sapphire said. "Then maybe there would be Granites and Diorites and such.." She looked into the treetops, wondering whether to bring the granite with her.
Cat's Eye walked over to the sapphire, observing the piece of granite she had uncovered with wide eyes. It shimmered in the sunlight, and the yellow gem muttered, "Ooh... shiny..." Shaking her head, she got herself focused again, and looked at Purple Sapphire. "But yeah, it is strange..." She scratched her head. "It's also the reason why I can't imagine a rock like granite cut." She didn't like the fact that humans used gemstones for jewelry, basically being one herself, but indeed, they are a very strange species. She looked at the granite stone. Maybe there could be gems with granite as a gemstone out there, she has just never seen one. Either way, it was quite improbable. "By the way, Sapphire, is there any chance you could show me where you were made?" she asked, returning to their previous subject. She kind of wanted to see what 'nowhere' looked like, keeping in mind the risks she was taking by doing so.
"I'm... I'm afraid I cannot. It is.. More than a thousand miles from here," Sapphire said, looking towards Cat. "Left, right, left, right, left, right. Keep moving, one paw I front of the other!" Peridot randomly said. He smiled, trying to get rid of the negativity in Sapphire. Sapphire burst out laughing, she fell down on the ground and looked up to see a stick suddenly on her chest. She looked up, noticing Stampy had dissapeared. A "monster" appeared, scaring the living daylights out of Sapphire. "OH MY DIAMONDS! STAMPY, WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK??? Sapphire yelled. The "monster" shapeshifted to become Stampy again, and Stampy laughed his head off. "Stampy, I think you took that a little too far," Juni said.
The yellow gem sighed. "Wow... That is far." When Peridot had begun speaking, Cat's Eye simply looked at him in confusion, not sure as to why it was so funny to the juvenile sapphire, but it was rather encouraging to the short gem. She smiled, and tittered a little bit in response. He had a strange sense of humor, that's for sure. Once she calmed herself down, she, too, noticed that something seemed... off. She couldn't quite think of what exactly was off, but then, she saw the monstrous form Stampy had taken.
"By the stars!" she screamed, terrified at what she was seeing in front of her. Being too frightened to say anymore, Cat's Eye screams turned into heavy breathing. Once Stampy had taken his normal form again, her terror quickly dissolved into disgust. "Really?" she grumbled, not impressed by the act the orange gem had pulled off. Her voice got louder as she snapped, "You really think that's funny?" The yellow gem then pointed to Juni. "She's right, you went too far with that joke."
"Sorry," Stampy said. Sapphire just glared at him. He stepped backwards a couple times, but before he could enter the forestry again Sapphire grabbed him. "Don't exit my sight," she said, emitting a low growl. She let go, and Stampy ran back to the others. "Hey, what's over there?" Peridot said, looking towards a glimmering object. He went towards it, picking it up. Exept he didn't pick it up. It just... dissapeared. Confused, Peridot looked at Sapphire. "What the heck?" they said in unison. "Jinx!" Peridot said. "Aw, darn it!" Sapphire said. The glimmering object reappeared, and Peridot tried to grab it. It only dissapeared again. Sapphire burst out laughing again. "Trolled ya!" she said. But then a loud "CRASH" could be heard. "WHAT IN THE DIAMONDS?" everyone yelled in unison. This time, nobody said jinx.
Hearing the loud crash, the short gem jumped as she was startled, letting out a squeak of terror. Giving a glance of precaution at the purple sapphire and her allies, Cat's Eye wasn't sure what to do. She looked around for the source of the sound, but could not find anything near her. If this was the case, all of them could potentially be in danger. She forced herself to gulp, terror surging throughout her body. Out of precaution, the yellow gem put her hand on the back of her neck, and out came her weapon, a dagger. Holding it with both hands, she wandered around the area they were in, in case something would leap out at them.
All of a sudden, the yellow gem heard something moving, coming from somewhere. "W-Who's there?" she asked, trying to find the source of the sound.
As rustling can be heard, the group (exept peridot) summoned their weapons. Sapphire pinpointed the noise and sped towards it. She moved the bushes, to find nothing. "Wha-" before she could finish, she poofed. "Sapphire!" Juni said, rushing towards the purple gemstone. Peridot's hologram suddenly dropped. "Peridot, your hologram's down!" Stampy said. There was a scratch on Peridot's robotic arm, as well as a dent in his back. "Ahh! What the heck?" he said, feeling the pain. He turned around, scanning for corruption. But something rushed right by Cat, missing her by an inch. "Corrupted Cats Eye!" Stampy yelled. The corruption was too fast-no wonder it had poofed Sapphire whithin seconds! Everyone moved together, Juni holding Sapphire's gemstone. Soon the corruption stopped, revealing its lionlike self.
Cat's Eye was rather overwhelmed by the corrupted monster's impressive speed. She struggled to dodge each one of its dashes towards her, but so far, she had managed to dodge all of them. When Stampy yelled that it was a corrupted cat's eye attacking them, the short cat's eye raised an eyebrow at his statement. "Are you sure about that?" she asked loudly in order for the orange gem to hear within the chaos they were facing right now. When it stopped, she looked over at the rather tall creature, and was at first, rather impressed by its impressive mane. Knowing the threat it posed to the group, she shook her head, trying to focus.
But then, she saw the familiar cabochon resting on the corrupted gem's chest, confirming Stampy's assumption that this creature was in fact, another cat's eye. Being rather horrified that it was a cat's eye like herself, the yellow gem stood in place, in awe of what it had become. While Cat's Eye let her guard down, the creature dashed towards her, its claws scraping her arm. The gem let out a squeak of pain as she lost balance, and her form flickered briefly.
The corrupted gem stopped once more, its dark, empty eyes resting on the other cat's eye. With her good arm, the short gem threw the dagger she was holding at it, but it quickly dodged. With a groan of frustration, she summoned yet another dagger out of her gem, and tried throwing another one at it. It dodged again. This pattern continued on for a while, and Cat's Eye the injured started to get exhausted from the constant throwing she had to do. Looking over at the purple sapphire's friends, she commented, "Can you help me over here?"
