Name: Ignis "Torch Fiend"
Appeared Gender: Male
Appeared Age: 25
Gemstone: Flame Aura Quartz
Gemstone Location: On the left of the chest, right where the heart would be for human
Faction: Home World
Corrupted: N
(If Corrupted)Monster Form: N/A
Appearance: I'm not good with descriptions so Ill keep this short. Ignis stands at 6'1" with a light red tint to his skin. He has short, messy blood red hair with matching, dimly glowing pupils; and he uses his abilities his pupils can fully glow. The man has an athletic body with what appears to be markings all over his body, immitating flame patterns, and once he begins to use his flames they too glow a deep red. If you really want a better description then you can say he looks a lot like Madara Uchiha from Naruto Shippuden.
Personality: Ignis is quite... Ignis. He can be calm and is actually pretty intellectual but spends most his time either in training in a squad or sleeping. Surprisingl, Ignis is nice for a Flame Aura and tries to help others out, even to help release some stress in their life he will talk to them to help get things off their chest. Yes, he is a sloth half the time and will burn someone's hand should they disturb him, commanding officer or no, he does not really care; figuratively speaking of course, he would not burn a commanding officers hand off.
Although Ignis tends to show attitude towards just about anyone including friends, but that's just your typical Flame Aura Quartz, they tend to remain with a chip on the shoulder. He hates people who act stupid and petty, he cannot stand ignorance and has little tolerance for bragging and boasting to the point he actually beats whoever is doing so up. And boy, does Ignis love fighting.
"If you talk about how tough you are, then why not show it?" Ignis will challenge anyone to combat, let it be a higher rank or lower, in his eyes, everyone is equal for a good ol' fashion ass whoopin! He enjoys fighting, and loves it when his opponent is enjoying the fight too! Usually he will go for hand to hand combat in which he excels, but if a weapon is drawnit kinda kills the mood for the guy. But regardless, Ignis will try to find some way to make the fight fun.
In combat however, he, like all Aura Quartz, if a force to be reckoned. Mainly serving as a soldier, Ignis has a sturdy knowledge of weapons, especially swords, in which he is pretty decent at fighting with. Going through years of hard training, combined with his training with various weapons makes utilizing certain swords or axes handy for him granted he uses daggers, arm blades ,and gauntlets. While Ignis is familiar in sword-play, he excels in hand to hand.
Due to the extreme training regime, the man utilizes any and all techniques and surroundings to his advantage. He uses a mixture of different martial arts (like Judo, Taikwando, etc.) to attack, both offensively and defensively, and is dangerous in enclosed areas like hallways, corridors or small rooms. In dark areas he uses his other senses besides sight as his tool, however while Aura Sight can help he prefers not to use it at all, remaining on edge and alert to any sound, movement and vibration; he is trained to use all of his senses to further his combat capability. He will utilize stealth to its fullest if needed and while blocking or parrying Ignis will search for any openings to strike, or look for weaknesses to take advantage.
Aside from his hands and weapons, nothing compares to burning things alive or watching an explosion. As one of his abilities is to use the elementary flame, as he can produce such a thing and even manipulate the fire in the surrounding area. Ignis, as a Flame Aura Quartz, has been known to form weapons or shoot fire balls at an opponent, but his tactics is to literally corner them and either blow them to hell or burn the enemy alive. He will go as far as surrounding himself in a huge blanket of fire as a defense, and the list goes on. But this is a primary tool for dealing with large groups of foes rather than one, so its used sparingly.
Likes +/Dislikes -:
+ Ignis loves sleeping, no matter if he is on a ship to a mission or he has free time to do other stuff, he is no shorter than a sloth at best.
+ Ignis loves a good fight, and of course what's not better than pumbling each other for the fun of it! He tends to test out others knowledge of fighting, strength, speed, etc. and loves to be tested himself by other.
+ Oddly, Ignis, no matter the attitude loves to help others get rid of their stress and even spread a good word about them, let them be weak or strong, he sees everyone as equals. Of someone is going through a rough patched then Ignis will sit them down and allow them to get whatever off their chest.
- Ignis is typically impatient with waiting on someone and sometimes will try to rush them, if it does not work he forgets with his flame for a bit, flicking it on and off here and there.
- Ignis is... arrogant. While this may not seem like a flaw he will actuslly fight anyone he deems worthy enough including high ranking officers. He tends to underestimate his foes and goes as far as toying with them before actually fighting. This can cause him to leave certain parts of his body open for attack.
- While Ignis can continually use his flame power it takes a toll. He gets weaker as the power takes energy from his body allowing normal hits to be more affective no matter how strong the guy is. So while the flame is used its only uses to end fights quickly.
Fears:
× Ignis has a distinct fear of roaches. There was a planet where he was stranded on with other gems as apart of training. This specific planet had massive invertibrates and one of them, the most disgusting, was the roach. Being swarmed by the massive mandibless Ignis was ate whole by one. After bursting out if the massive creature he cooked them all immediately, and ever since then even the smallest roach will freak him out.
× Ignis has a fear of failing a mission. As rules state, the mission cone first, and this year comes from being tossed away. He was built as a tool but his inner feelings tend to get in his way, so he remains as emotionless as possible during a mission. Aside from attitudes of course.

Weapon: Ignis will typically use an armblade dual wielded with a dagger in the other hand. He can swap between two arm blades, two daggers and a pair of blades gauntlets. While the daggers are used for stealth operations, the gauntlets are used for a flurry of attacks and cause multiple deep cuts that are meant to strike at vital points of the body, however the armblades are only used when the killing blow is available or when there's a formidable enough foe.
Ability 1: Flame Manipulation: The Flame Aura Quartz, compared to others, have a unique capability that gave them their names. Dubbed as the "Torch Fiend" Ignis can manipulate and convert his natural energy into fire, and he can go as far turn into a body of fire to avoid certain attacks, control and move fire in the area freely, form weaker fire clones, create weak to devastating fire balls, create explosions, and form weapons made from his fire. He can even absorb fire as a way to get more energy but not by very much, just enough to keep fighting for a little longer. However as gifted as this ability is it can put a strain on its user, using up energy from them as more powerful attacks are performed and so the ability is only used to end fights quickly and sometimes as last resorts. As this ability is used the users eyes glow a bright fiery red as if they are the very essence of the element itself.
However, as Ignis trains himself he will gradually get better for a new gem, it would just take time to get stronger and better.
Ability 2: Aura Sight: With the ability that most Aura Quartz have, Ignis can use an aura sight to see the energies or life essence of other beings, including gems. They can also see how powerful their foes are by looking at how fast and how big their aura flows, for example: a new gem who is weak would have a small orb of power flowing right on the gemstone, it would be the size of a golf ball and flow much slower. An older more powerful gem could have an orb that covered their entire body and flows much faster. The point of this sight is to seek out a foe and strategize a way to take them down. However this ability, if used beyond its given time (or ten turns) can affect other Aura Quartz and greatly strain their eyes. This ability can allow the user to see 30 yards or less, anything further is out of tune.
History:
The purpose of the Aura Quartz was tarnished, spat on and warped, and now they hunt small rebellions, becoming a grim reaper for anyone who dared go against the ruling of the Diamonds.
However, some Aura's had grown resistant to their honor for these supposed tyrants and simply left; either hunted down or simply disappeared off the map. Thousands of years ago a rebellion of several hundred of these gems returned to liberate the gem-kind from their hold, and so a brutal war enraged on another planet, one erased from history due to such disgrace and suffering it wrought upon the other world. While it did last for some time, the sweep was easier and set aside, however the force that this rebellion possessed ravaged many lands and outposts. Since then, the production of Aura Quartz was ceased, their numbers, those loyal and enemy to the Diamond had decreased exponentially to only handfuls of teams. The rebellion had vanished and Home World never touched, however these gems were now used for a darker purpose: the hunt.
Ignis, like other Aura Quartz, was created for the hunt, trained to seek out rebellions and dispatch them quickly before they grow too fast. Like other Aura Quartz however, this Flame Aura had to go through the most extreme training regimen. At first, he highly disliked it and wanted out but with no other choice dealt with it. He was taught multiple martial arts for hand to hand combat, it was essential for close quarters situations and combat in enclosed spaces, spending three years to perfect the defensive and offensive natures of each art. This was the most difficult since it was always fast paced, and Ignis was definitely not at the top of his class, however what pushed him was his pride to not let anyone show him up and to reach beyond their power. And due to his harsh attitude he made no friends, keeping it only as competition.
Another three years continued as they moved to training the senses and mind, in which Ignis would have excelled if he was not as lazy, he was especially told to uphold honor as an Aura Quartz by his teacher but ignored the demand. He didn't want to fall behind and because of his pride he continued to push despite being told he was not suited for it by their teacher, which was one of the ways to puss Ignis off and caused him to actually try but didn't care for the whole "honor" routine. Between fighting blind, then using only vibrations and multiple torture methods
This class was thrown into two teams in classic games of capture the flag, defuse the bomb, anything that would involve team work and allowed the full use of their powers without destroying one another. More and more, these teams were switched up and each of these trainees grew bonds together, and after long years of constant training together, they became bothers and sisters of a kind and Ignis grew to trust everyone else.
On the seventh year, Ignis learned the full combat regime like everyone else, and the final test would begin. These two teams of ten each were taken to a planet and dropped off, given minimum supplies. The goal was to survive this planet not for two, but four years, and to meet back at the rendezvous point by the end of the fourth winter. They were given a small alarm that went off as soon as the final hour hit, medical supplies for illnesses that came about and rifles to handle anything beyond these gems strength. Ignis followed his group, and for the first six months it was a living hell.
This was a jungle planet, so it was very humid and held many dangerous creature, mostly notorious for its massive insects. After they had built they're outpost, most of the team decided to leave to a large canyon nearby along with Ignis. They trekked the great crack of the land, eventually running into a large hive of beetles. Before the team could react, a couple beetles had attacked from behind and the rest had charged, hitting and trampling the gems. Some were eaten, some shattered, but the remainder were greatly injured and could only fend off one beetle at a time.
Ignis did what he could but inevitably was slammed into the canyon wall, disoriented and wounded he looked along to see his teammates either ripped apart, trampled or eaten by the insects. A great heat flared inside Ignis, and as be stood he gave a vicious roar, summoning a long sword. He blew fire along the creatures while hacking and slashing away, killing every last beetle that had scittered about.
After that day, Ignis became quiet, returning to the camp alone, he had no team now and needed to think of a better plan to surviving in the wilderness. The best he could do was maintain the outpost and fend himself from the creatures of the planet.
In the second year, he had discovered the various gems of the second team, collecting them for safe keepings. He had faces countless creatures like giant snakes and spiders, but also dealt with hazards like quicksand and small venomous insects.
In the third year Ignis faced one of the second teams gems who was hunting him down, the man going insane from the time spent on the planet. Apparently he and Ignis were dealing with the same thing but it seemed like there were different results. As months went on between the two fighting, Ignis eventually assassinated the other gem to stop the constant fighting as it stirred up problems like attracting large predators or destroyed supplies.
After the fourth winter, Ignis was picked up by the drop ship at the spot he was told to. There were no other gems that survived, but still, Ignis did pass, it just didn't feel like a victory to him.
When Ignis returned he told his commanding officers everything that had happened on the planet, why he was the only survivor, etc. What caught their attention was utilizing the stealth and survival he had on that planet, and being the only one out of ten gems who made it back to Homeworld he was promoted to a Hunter. A gem hunter.
Of course Ignis was trained much further, spending eight years to be considered eligible to that particular rank. After the training, Ignis was sent to various places ceasing corrupted gems and rebels (at this time they were abandoning their posts). He spent a year doing this, and out of that year he hunted down a total of nearly thirty seven gems, both corrupted and normal. However the higher ups noticed that Ignis tended to use fire a lot, getting the job done quickly, so as an "honorary title" they dubbed him "The Torch Fiend."
While Ignis did not care for this, as a Hunter he had earned the name through hard work. However as of recent he had been eligible to join a squad of gems, but he specifically stated that he was picky with whoever was on the team.
Character Arcs:
Companionship: this arc specifically goes through Ignis's life in a squad he joined, whether he gets close to them or not, he would still be a dedicated member to his work. This is meant to be a long arc and perhaps a change for the character himself.
Possibilities: As Ignis continues his work with/without a squad he tends to take his ship to a backwater planet where he can rest, meditate, and calm his nerves before going back to work. It is at this point he begins to question the Gem society as a whole and starts becoming more snarky towards his superiors.
The Option: While this is a wild card: if Ignis has worked alongside his members in the squad he will begin to ask questions about Homeworld and the purpose of scouting out planets for them, or similar subjects to that. But Ignis will also ask them about the morals they possess and if anything they hold dear mean anything. If the answers they give are purely for Homeworld in the way that they are completely loyal, Ignis might not think much of it and continue his life as a drone. But as his superior, Ciris, had discussed with Ignis, he will begin to grow feelings of wanting to be free of Homeworld. Further more, it is more likely he will begin a rebellion on Homeworld or on a habitable planet near it, as he aims to free the gems of their shackles and live the way they want to.
