She looked at the floor for a minute and shook slightly, balling her fists as she returned to her normal outfit. Her mouth opened and trembled as she struggled to speak. "I...I think you're wrong Topaz! I joined the Crystal Gems because I want to protect earth, but I don't want to fight anyone... I'd prefer to be friends instead, I just want the fighting to stop, it's getting people hurt... but you're right! Sometimes we just have to fight... we just have to do what we need to protect what we care about, you know? If you change your mind and want to be friends... I will totally be your friend, but that's your choice, because you believe in something too, and that's homeworld."
Flurry started walking away, but it was a fake. She whipped a slingshot from her bag and fired a sharp rock at Topaz. Her accuracy was keen, as if it had been trained.

"Hey!" Topaz said as the rock nicked her form, not managing to dodge the attack fully. "I didn't say I wanted to fight either. That was supposed to be a speech for telling you that pretty much every Homeworld gem that is not me is liable to attack you." Summoning two of her swords, Topaz held them in a loose grip as she glared at the other Gem. "I'd honestly just like to leave now. If you'll let me, we won't have to see each other ever again. Otherwise... well, don't assume that because I detest war that I am unschooled in it." She whipped the molten blades around, pointing them at Flurry. It would take more than a few rocks to poof her, she was built like a Quartz after all.
"You can't leave...not just yet! I have a few questions for you...because you seem really great and I don't believe that you aren't a Crystal Gem!" Flurry called. She had her slingshot ready, loaded another rock, but did not fire. " Look, I'm super sorry for attacking you...but I need you to take me seriously... people always think I've got nothing to say!"
She took a few deep breaths as if talking in what she intended to be a threatening way, tired her out.
"I wanna know why you're a homeworld gem, I wanna know why you're working for the diamonds. They're....so mean!" Flurry said with a shake. "It's not right, I know it's not. You seem really nice, and so I don't believe you'd do that without a reason. You could be a crystal gem, like me! A-And if you run...I'll shoot again! I really will!"

"It doesn't matter if the Diamonds are occasionally mean. They have been the ones guiding us for eons upon eons to success and further expansion! Without them, Gems probably wouldn't have even made it off Homeworld. Does every Gem get to be a pampered one, basking in the high life? Of course not. Just look at human history for example - the good of many comes at the cost of a few. Shirking our duties for a chance to 'be ourselves' and 'save organics' leads to naught but our destruction, yet the Crystal Gems continue to promote such wanton destruction in the face of this truth. Is it morally correct to allow all to choose as they please? Perhaps, yes. Do I think that our species should be confined to be downtrodden and stuck on our original floating rock in space because of that? No. Idealism should never eclipse practicality when it comes to running an Empire of our size." Topaz sighed, her blades drifting downwards. "Do I sometimes wish that maybe I could have a taste of that freedom... of course. To actually do so is folly. I've no wish to fight any of our kind, but if they are insistent on dragging us down then I will contribute in any way I can."
" Do you even know what you're saying!? You're saying just because things used to be that way or are that way means we shouldn't change it! Gems don't need to take more land away from people, we could have just stayed home! We came and we're hurting people. If you help homeworld on earth, you might not be directly doing anything, but you are supporting the awful stuff we're doing to humans!" She looked into Topaz's eyes. "That makes you...bad! There is no reason we have to hurt these people...and the Diamonds don't choose what I do with my life. I do! That's how it should be! Do you really think that we should be here? That this is right? It's not! Everything they told you is a lie!"
"So what do you do with your life, then? Frolic with organics? Protect a planet that has its' own host lifeforms destroying and corrupting it themselves already?" Topaz narrowed her eyes for a second, before looking away and sighing. "How new are you? We've tried letting organics run their owns affairs before. They always end up destroying the planet they inhabit themselves before they even reach space. If no else is fit to use the planets, we will instead. You put too much faith in fickle creatures they have yet to prove themselves any different from those who came before. The Diamonds are not infailable... but they certainly know the truth about what we do here. I believe that, for I have see it for myself."
"The people of earth aren't all destroying themselves, we are! Earth was fine until we came along..." She looked down and realized that Topaz wasn't taking her seriously. "If you think organics are really bad, you should consider what we do... we're just using our planet for resources, we're hurting them... do you care about the organics? This isn't helping them, this is wrong! If you think that's what the diamonds want you're wrong! The Diamonds don't care!"
Flurry walked over to Topaz. "The organics never asked for our help, and they don't want it. If we were helping them I wouldn't have lost my job on homeworld. We're tearing their planet apart, did you go to a kindergarten!? They're super scary...nothing lives there! It's all our fault. We're monsters! I don't want to be that way!"
"You don't have to be. And I won't be the one the stop you from doing otherwise." Tilting her head, Topaz gave a scoff at the smaller Gem. "That doesn't mean I agree with you or what you had to say. I'm leaving now, Spinel. Pelt me with rocks all you want, but I won't sit here and tolerate foolishness and waste more time discussing about how 'worthy' organics on this planet are. Topaz had spoken her piece, and the other Gem hers. She only hoped the Spinel would leave her alone now - this discussion they had was mentally tiring (and that is to speak kindly about it!), and she wished to hear no more of the sanctimonious babble "Flurry" was spouting.
Flurry glared. She had now decided that this gem needed to change, this wasn't okay! It wasn't going to be fun, but Flurry knew that if she wanted to be a Crystal Gem, she had to believe in what she was fighting for, and fight for it. Flurry summoned her cloud and her mallet and sped quickly toward her. Riding atop her cloud Flurry built up momentum as she approached. The armor that Topaz was wearing would prove difficult to pierce, but blunt-force trauma could make wearing armor more of a weakness, due to vibrations. As Flurry got close to Topaz she readied her hammer. Flurry leapt off of her cloud and into the air, the cloud vanished into thin air. As Flurry continued flying through the air she swung her mallet as hard as she could against the back of Topaz's helmet.
A heavy impact sent Topaz's loosely secured helmet clattering away and her whirling around, reflexively summoning her magma shortswords as she gave a frown. "I had hoped that..." Shaking her head, Topaz secured a more defensive stance. "Obviously a Crystal Gem wouldn't let me walk away, I see." She gave a wry smile. "I may be a bit rusty, but don't think I'll lay down and let you shatter me!" The smaller Gem had dismounted her cloud, obviously hoping to have incapacitated her foe in one strike. Her size and weapon wouldn't prove to be that difficult to overcome, especially if they were fighting in a flat grounded arena such as this one. She thrust forward with one her swords, carefully striking as to prevent an over-extension and therefore an opportunity to the enemy.
Flurry had to ignore the comments. She realized that this gem had so many strange ideas about the crystal gems! She lost a lot of willpower though, hearing them, not as much due to personal guilt, but at how the other gem felt. If she were attacking this gem, perhaps they thought she really wanted to hurt them? Flurry winced, knowing that she really didn't want to fight, but the things this gem had said were right, she needed to believe in the Crystal Gems!
Flurry saw the strike come. She didn't want to rely on dodging on foot so she called her cloud to her, darting aside as the blade nearly sliced her back across. She then decided to attack, not noticing that the strike was likely over-extended to serve as bait. Readying her slingshot she swiftly fired again at her opponent, finding herself using a tactical advantage of the over-extended swing.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
