“Star shifts?” Bronzite tilted her head with a confused look on her face. “I don’t...understand..” She softly mused, wrinkling her face in concentration. “Wait? Star...shifts? Like hours or time?” Bronzite continued to trace her finger in the dirt, making small emblems.
“What does homeworld say about….me...er-I mean Rebels.” She paused, “We’re not all that bad, y’know…And this earth isn’t so...bad. At times I miss homeworld and Dream about it..but I know I would rather be here in the end.” Bronzite admitted, shrugging slightly, "The humans of this world are quite amusing, you know. They do pointless things all the time. The children have these...animals that they care for..Its...weird."
“I’ve never seen a gem quite...like you…” Bronzite said, “It’s quite interesting..-In a good way." She said quickly, smiling at Kyanite.
The confusion was clear on the quartz’s face, causing Kya to frown uncertainly as she mentally scrabbled for another way to phrase it. She had no idea of Earth’s variant, she had no idea of any of this strange planets customs. Was there a human was to say it? Or...did gems on this planet have their own quirk for time changes?
Fortunately, it seemed the struggle for finding another way to say it was needless, and realisation replaced the confusion on Bronzite’s face.
“Wait? Star...shifts? Like hours or time?”
“I, uh....I suppose, if...if that’s what you...call it here?” Shifting somewhat uncomfortably, Kya shrugged, before peering down at the strange emblems the quartz was tracing into the dirt.
“What does homeworld say about….me...er-I mean Rebels.” Blinking in surprise, Kya peered at the quartz in consideration as she spoke. “We’re not all that bad, y’know…And this earth isn’t so...bad. At times I miss homeworld and Dream about it..but I know I would rather be here in the end.”
“Well....I-I....it varies, really” clearing her throat slightly, Kya looks down at her hands as she clasped them uncertainly in her lap. She didn’t wish to offend this gem, lest she got upset, or even angry, yet...there was really nothing good to say...“Homeworld sees the r-rebels as...well, rebels. E-enemies, I....suppose.”
Shaking her head slightly, the gem flexes her fingers, as though checking they still operate correctly. “I-I believe you, that....that rebels can be...good. I just....”
Taking a breath, Kya shut her mouth and shot the quartz an apologetic look, though one that still masked a flickering fear an uncertainty. Inevitable. Irreversible. She couldn’t stop herself from being afraid. Not after what she’d heard. What she’d seen. What she’d experienced.
“The humans of this world are quite amusing, you know. They do pointless things all the time. The children have these...animals that they care for..Its...weird.”
“Humans...they’re the creatures on this plant...” Kya murmured, voice uncertain but...sure, all the same. She knew this much. Still, she frowned slightly. “W-what are...children? Ani-animals?” Brows furrowing slightly, Kya found herself trying to recall her teachings and overhearings of this strange planet. It didn’t help her guard had never been here before.
Perhaps it would have been better to be escorted by an earth quartz. Maybe they might have...survived.
“I’ve never seen a gem quite...like you…” Thoughts interrupted, Kya’s eyes widened slightly. It seemed the gem imediately took this as offence, as she quickly rectified herself with a smile. “It’s quite interesting..-In a good way.”
“I...I suppose...” the gem trailed off, turning her head, but unable to see the sky, let alone the star she knew was Homeworld, seeing as it was too light and she was in a quartz hole. Somewhat disappointed, Kya turned her gaze back to her newfound companion. “My gem kind is...newer. Homeworld needed....a new healer, to...make up for the Euclase...”
Hopefully, that was what she’d meant. What other meaning was there? It made sense, as an earth grown quartz...she would never have met the few Kynanites in circuit. And even so, there were even fewer made to be healers like herself. After all, Kya had seemingly came out defective, though it was simply her gift was slow to furface. If they brought her kind back into circuit, they wouldn’t have even surfaced yet.

“You w-would be defending me from...from your own comrades, which would o...only put us b-both at risk.”
Bronzite could have slapped herself in the common belief that she was a complete idiot. Duh. She thought as she pursed her lips together, making a thin frown. Bronzite then used a tanned hand to brush some of her thick brown hair out of her eyes and nodded. "You're right," She mumbled, a bit embarrassed that she hadn't realized that when the question was posed.
Bronzite was still embarrassed that she hadn't known that her protection of the small blue gem would be ultimately pointless, She fell silent, tapping her hand on her knee. Bronzite watched the small gem and a thought came to mind. The small gem was odd, Well, Bronzite herself was odd, yet this lithe blue gem was unlike any gem she'd seen. Bronzite was then snapped back to reality at the Kyanite's voice.
“Not until at least three star shifts have passed”
Bronzite squinted her eyes, not processing this statement until a few moments later. "...Star...Shifts?" She asked, confusion thick in her voice. "What's..a star shift?" She asked tilting her head in inquiry and uncertainty.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
