Ignoring the chaos between Cat's Eye and Peridot, the pearl obediently stepped into the building. She nodded towards the white beryl as a sign of respect for the gesture. Hands clasped, her eye focused on the scene going on outside. What were they even doing? She just heard them arguing; neither side sounded happy. Not even Radiant was happy; it was obvious his patience was wearing thin. Green Pearl gave a slight shake of disapproval towards them. She flinched at the sound of Peridot poofing herself, but like most pearls, the green gem made no other sound or movement at it. When the yellow gem came rushing into the building, she stepped out of the way to allow her to get inside. At last, her attention returned to Radiant, waiting for him to make a move.
Radiant flinched at the poofing of Peridot. Something like this he really did not expect, was it worth all of this trouble to have brought Peridot with him? Walking with the others into the skyscraper, Radiant turned around to face the small yellow gem. Looking at Cat's Eyes with a smile, he held out his hand: "Cat's Eyes dear, would you mind giving me Peridot's gem?" He could not afford to lose it or even worse, let it loose again, so he planned on containing the gem for as long as possible until Peridot hopefully calmed down. "I think it will be the safest if her gem is with me." Thus was not even a lie, Peridot's gem really would have been more secure in his hands, at least Radiant was of that conviction.
"Of course." Without any hesitation, Cat's Eye placed Peridot's gemstone into the white beryl's hand. She could not afford to lose any trust he had, not at this point. She'll admit, even though he is a Homeworld gem, she was starting to warm up to Radiant. Even when she feared his outbursts, even when she was too trusting for her own good, he was still a decent companion. It was true, she was reckless. She could not let any accidents happen that endangered the green gemstone. Of course, she was not really their friend, but she is an ally. And it is more important to be on friendly terms than to be an enemy, she thought. Though, the yellow gem had a small hope that she and Peridot would eventually be friends. It was a small, worthless hope, but it was better than no hope. With one less voice, things were going to get quieter.
(sorry for the late reply, I got caught up with life, plus I was having trouble coming up with a response to this.)
Green Pearl watched as the yellow gem dropped the gemstone into Radiant's hand. Of course, the fragile thing would be in much safer hands with the white beryl than in the hands of the reckless Cat's Eye. No one was going to be shattered here today, accidentally or not. Still waiting, she watched the scene unfold with careful detail, analyzing what could happen. She never wavered at all, keeping her head down and hands clasped. But always was her watchful green eye focused on Radiant and Cat's Eye. She would move when they moved. Yet, no further command has been said. So, Pearl continued waiting... and waiting. It was a little tiring, but she could live through it. She's been through worst.
(Sorry for the lats reply everybody, Happy New Years!)
Radiant, now having the gem of Peridot with him, secured it in one of his pockets and opened the door, signaling the others to come in. Once inside, he called the elevator which would lead them to his apartment. He was getting impatient, and thus did not have all too much to say to the others. However, he still had a question concerning Green Pearl, which was if it would be better for him to simply keep her like she was or maybe make her "come our of her shell" so to speak. Indeed, he sometimes had pearls assisting him on Homeworld, but none of them was ever his, and she did seem to mourn over not having a master. Well, only would would tell. For now, he went with the others into the elevator which finally appeared with a metallic clank, reckoning of unsafety.
When passed some time recovering from its own attack, Peridot's Gemstone started to float from Radiant's pockets and then started to reform. When finally reformed, PR was trying to continue on control, but Peridot was furious. Unfortunately for Peridot, her Limb Enhancers and Shoulder Spikes were still outside on the ground. "Aaand the brat blew it for me again" She saw metal around and thought in threatening but just let PR get control again, she gave up on this for a while, needed a rest. When PR took over again as she was trying to do, she looked at everyone, checking if everyone was fine. "G-Guys, i did it? Are you okay?" PR looked at Cat's Eye wondering if she would forgive her. "Cat's... Did-Did i hurt you? I mean i-i didn't mean to..." She noticed everyone else and looked at Pearl and Radiant. "... Sorry, i can explain"
Cat's Eye followed Radiant into the elevator, jumping a little when it came crashing down. Admittedly, the elevators here were archaic compared to Homeworld's, but she had to admit, she was surprised herself humans had managed to progress so far in technology. When PR reformed, her eyes widened. She flinched at the word 'brat', not sure who it was directed towards. She kept a straight face as she replied, "It's fine, it's fine. You didn't hurt me or anything." The yellow gem smiled. "That's the important part!" More of her playful attitude emerged when she then commented, "You know, PR, you look awfully small without your limb enhancers." This was followed by a cheeky smile. She was just joking around, all in good fun, right? Sure, she was anticipating their arrival at Radiant's apartment, but why not lighten the mood after the events that just occured?
Green Pearl was at the white beryl's side their entire adventure. She rarely even said a word, simply looking on with careful consideration. She was not supposed to speak, it is not relevant to do so. However, she felt like she had to speak. She was technically free for now, wasn't she? Yes, she still aligned with Homeworld, but she had not been reassigned as of current. She might as well exercise this temporary liberty. When Peridot reformed, she simply said, "I do not recommend causing anymore trouble." It was a simple, yet powerful message. The pearl might not have any authority, but no matter who said it, it still carried the same weight. It would be even more effective if Radiant echoed a similar message. That was all she had to say. She did not know if that would get her into trouble, so it's best to keep her mouth shut for now.
Radiant leaned against the wall near Green Pearl when the reform of Peridot began to unfold itself. The most sad thing about this was that the limb enhancers of PR were gone, making her completely useless. Radiant would have to make her new ones, but it would cost him some resources, and time. This day could not get any worse. When Green Pearl exclaimed a word of command he would have smiled, if he could feel something, but he put on a smile nonetheless, a hollow one, but it was something. "Yes, you heard her, it would be indeed wise to not cause anymore trouble, especially if you prefer not having chemicals to come your way or bookshelfs to squash you."
PR was relieved and even giggled when heard what Cat's Eye said. "Yeah, i guess that is the purpose of the Limb Enhancers right?" She said smiling to Cat's Eye. But when PR heard to what Green Pearl said, she wanted to say something, although she couldn't think on nothing, PR already did so many bad things to a Gem that obviously didn't need more trouble. Now when Radiant told her about some stuff she wasn't understanding, she got afraid, even got chills, but was hard to tell because of the lack of hair on her body. "I-I can't... I need help, seriously, i'm not causing trouble because i want to, i swear..." A pain on her chest was starting to grow. She puts her right hand on her own chest and take a deep breath while starts sweating. She kept looking to Green Pearl with a guilty look, she was trying to think of some way to be friends with everyone, but it was tough. PR was getting ready to lose another group again, so it wouldn't hurt that much in the end, but it never worked.
Cat's Eye smiled back, and gave a wink. She then crossed her arms and began to tap her foot a little impatiently. She did not remember the elevator ride taking this long; was it because of all of the events going on in this small space? She will admit, she was a little claustrophobic, but luckily, this uncomfortable feeling would go away soon. At first, she thought she had lightened the mood, but in the end, with Radiant's and Green Pearl's seriousness and how panicked PR had become, she had failed. Regardless, she had to stay positive. The yellow gem's genuine smile had gone to a wary one, then to a frown. Fears that their visit would end as a disaster started to leak into her mind.
Suddenly, a chime sounded within the elevator, and the doors opened, leading out into the hallway. Cat's Eye immediately dashed out of it, and turned back to the group. "I think we're here," she said, smiling.
All Green Pearl gave in response to the peridot's pleas was an unhappy scowl. Hearing that there were chemicals in Radiant's apartment did not worry her in the slightest. After all, she belonged to a scientist, and Radiant was a scientist himself. The thought of Emerald brought a more sorrowful look to her face. It could easily be mistaken for pity for the peridot, when in reality memories were resurfacing once more. She took a deep breath. She had to keep control. She could not break down, especially not in the elevator. She already became emotional back on Mask Island, and pearls were not really supposed to show much emotion. Still, the frown still lingered on her face. Once the elevator door opened, she waited for the white beryl to step out before doing so herself.
Radiant, who was leaning on the back wall of the elevator, pushed himself out of it, walking ahead into the floor they arrived at. Searching for his apartment, he finally. pulled a key and opened the door to his abode. They now stood in an almost completely white room, the untainted walls being only covered by the bookshelves and abundance of books, from small texts to great tomes. In the middle of the room, there were five seats and a small table. Radiant did not make the same mistake he did when he first met Cat's Eye and cleaned up all of what was once cluttering the floor. The balcony was being currently closed by a glass door. "Please, make yourselves at home."
As she left the elevator to enter Radiant's abode, PR looked to all the bookshelves around the area. After looking around for a while, she started to get confused, wondering if some kind of research would be done in there. "Radiant, i think i can redo another- No wait... It's dangerous, i won't wear another Limb Enhancer near you guys, so no harm can be done" She looked confident about this, didn't want to cause any more trouble, they believing in her or not. PR got near shoulder to shoulder with Cat's Eye, still afraid of hurting her with her Spikes even though she wasn't with her Shoulder Spikes. "Hey, please let me know if i'm bothering you... It's just because i'm not feeling safe without my stuff" She whispered to Cat's Eye.
Cat's Eye walked into the familiar apartment. For sure, it was not as messy as the first time she came here. The situation they were in was familiar, but at the same time, it was vastly different. The yellow gem felt a little on-edge when PR stepped next to her. She should not have been bothered by this at all, since she usually lined up shoulder-to-shoulder with the other cat's eyes back on Homeworld, but something about not having to do so for a few years made her a little uncomfortable. Not wishing to search for an answer now, she replied to PR, "No need to worry." She winked. "It's pretty safe in here."
Shapeshifting into a cat once more, she went next to a bookcase and lied down. "If you're bored, you can always read a book or something. Peridots like to do that, right?" Stretching, she curled up into a ball, wanting to sleep. "Call if you need me," she added, the sentence directed to everyone in the room.
