Once again, Cat's Eye found herself in the beach town close to the Crystal Gems' base. As she wandered the streets once more, taking her normal form, she picked a flower from the sidewalk and sighed. Why was it here that she kept coming back to? She had been here several more times that she would have liked, and nothing about it seemed new anymore. It became a little boring. She tossed the flower aside and sighed. What was it that compelled her here? It had to be something. Was it the arcade? Was it the abnormally high number of gems residing here? She didn't know. As the sun shone on her back, she shapeshifted into a yellow seagull and perched on a fence, watching as humans walked by, ignoring her. She resumed her original shape and sighed. There had to be a gem here, right?
"Hello?" she called. "Anyone here?" Some of Beach City's citizens gave her strange looks, others ignored her. She frowned. Normally, they would come and ask questions, but she assumed she had been here too many times that now no one batted an eye to her presence. It was just like back on Homeworld, where her peers never took her seriously, just for being overcooked. She shivered at the thought. She didn't want to relive it again. Earth was where she made new friends that cared about her. And she hoped her friend group continued to grow. She continued to repeat her calls, hoping someone would walk up to her.
Flurry's walk had shifted to a waddle under the weight of her backpack. Either due to her naivety, or her resemblance to a human child, Flurry openly interacted with humans, but was often ignored. The only people in town who openly enjoyed her presence were the crystal gems, so she was determined to please them, by running errands. However: there wasn't much she could do for them, so she had been asked to bring snacks, that the gems didn't need. Determined to please her friends, Flurry ended up lugging large amounts of food, doing so as if the earth depended on it. She was just about to reach the temple when she heard a call in the distance. Was it a call for help? Flurry approached on a high ledge and looked down at the source. A gem! She didn't see any homeworld insignia, but there was no time to take risks. She tried to hide behind something, but as she turned the weight of her backpack sent her sliding down the ledge, making a good deal of noise in the process.
"Noo! The snacks!" She couldn't help but shout out loud. She soon found herself on the bottom of the ledge, on her back, looking up at the new gem. Some brown bubbly fluid, probably soda, oozed from her backpack.

The old one - a hugely powerful corrupted gem that lived underwater near Beach city was the only corrupted gem that Chip couldn't defeat. It had control over the ocean and Chip suspected it was probably a powerful lapis lazuli gem. Once again he tried to fight it but his flames were no much for the submerged giant. A huge explosion shot a geyser of water high in the sky with Chip on the top. The old one won this round... as it did the last dozen or so... but one day this gem will join Chip's collection. But not today... Chip, still shaken over the battle, had just enough time to summon his fiery wings before he half landed and half fell right in the town. He was tired but mostly uninjured. By some strange struck of fate he landed very close to another gem...
Cat's Eye continued to wander Beach City until a white figure fell right in front of her, the backpack she was wearing smushed. The brown liquid leaking from it continued to pool around her, eventually reaching the tips of the yellow gem's boots. Aw... "Uh..." She noticed a gemstone on her head. Well, at least she found someone. "Hi?" She gave an awkward wave. What was she supposed to say? "Do you need new snacks?" she asked after a few moments of silence.
Before the newcomer could answer, she heard a thud nearby. Cat's Eye snapped her head around and saw an orange figure on the ground. She quickly noticed the gem on his back. "And..." She stepped towards him. "...Do you need help?" The orange gem appeared to be fine, but you never know sometimes.
Flurry, still on her back, looking at the new gem in shame frowned weakly. She tried to scramble to her feet, but the process was wobbly and halted as she nearly slipped on the sand mixed with soda. Flurry could see no homeworld symbol...it was worth a try! Flurry stood and looked at her outfit, sticky from soda. She grinned awkwardly as she began to introduce herself. "Hey hey...I'm White Spinel, but you can call me Flurry. I'm one of the crys-"
She wobbled backward and gasped as another gem crash landed in the sand, really close! She took a moment of shuddering and watching the smoke clear. Her eyes widened in surprise, and then looked at the floor in guilt. She did know this gem, but their last interaction she had not been proud of. This gem seemed to be helping out, so she'd just watch for a moment.

Chip quickly stood up with a wide smile on his face. Once he heard a voice asking if he needed help he had to prove that he really was ok. "Don't worry about me, I am perfectly ok," he said with a very childish voice. "I am Fire Opal, Facet-5, Cut-001, but most call me Chip," he introduced himself. He had no idea why Pink gave him a cut when he had no cuts on his gemstone but... who was he to argue with Pink Diamond herself? "I was just fighting the Old one and... it never ends well," he laughed since this was his 32nd attempt at doing so and it ended more or less the same way as usually. He wanted to say something else but then he saw Flurry and fell silent with an opened mouth. It was so long... he kind of thought he will never see her again. To be honest he hoped he will never see her again...
Cat's Eye waved at Flurry before looking between the two gems and saying, "Nice to meeting the both of you." Now feeling a little cocky, she put a hand on her chest and introduced herself. "I'm Cat's Eye." She glanced at them again, and her expression dropped when neither of them said another word. Flurry avoided Chip's gaze, while Chip simply gaped at the white spinel. It was so... odd. "Umm..." To start up another conversation, the yellow gem looked at the fire opal and asked, "Who's the 'Old one'?" The only thing she could assume from his wording that it was a powerful enemy. Cat's Eye looked over at Flurry momentarily, in case she had done something new. Nothing had changed; she still looked at the ground as liquid dripped from her clothes.
"Urr..." Flurry managed to look at Cat's Eye, despite her own moping about. She wiped the soda from her back with her hands, or at least tried to, it would take a wash to get it out for real. "Um It's good to meet you too. I heard you calling and so I decided to come over...and It's good you're not in danger."
Flurry was glad that Cat's Eye had changed the subject, although she felt as if standing there was a violation of someone's rights. She looked back into her bag and started to occupy herself by checking on all of the contents. All of the snacks were smashed, but really she was just trying to fight the awkwardness in the air. She would listen to this conversation as it happened, as she mourned the loss of a few sandwiches and fries.

Flurry said nothing and Chip took that as pretending they don't know each other. And he was fine with that. "Oh, the Old one? Well, it is a great and powerful corrupted gem living in the sea. I suspect it might have been a Lapis Lazuli since it can control the water. It's enormous and insanely strong. I don't know anything more about it but I fight it every now and then. But my fire is no match for it underwater." he explained. "It is the only gem so far I couldn't poof and bubble," there was no shame in that. The Old one was just more powerful and in its element. One day he will get it... but not anytime soon.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
