Name: Csarite
Appeared Gender: Female
Appeared Age: 20s
Gemstone: A cut piece of Csarite sporting the three colors of green, orange, and red.
Gemstone Location: Left Forearm
Faction: None
Corrupted: Yes
Monster Form: A large devil's flower mantis, as tall as a house when upright and arms raised.
Appearance: Below is what her default form looks like, though she's often taking the appearance of someone or something else or altering her appearance in some other described way.
My attempt at drawing something other than a stick figure. x)
Personality: Csarite is relatively new to the world and thus is naturally curious, generously moving her eyes about to take in as much information as possible. Despite her eagerness to observe she prefers to not be seen herself. Instead she chooses to hide her form, letting her interact with the world without much fear. This lack of fear is also attributed to her lack of danger sense, having limited knowledge to discern what should be approached and what should be avoided. Csarite is rather impressionable to the extent due to her lack of knowledge and will be rather easy to trick in her early contacts with gems.
When she does feel comfortable, she is happy to play or socialize with whatever friend she has made. Csarite also loves spending time asking questions, being eager to learn more about the world she has found herself in. Her voice is meek and careful when she speaks, not wanting to appear as loud or obnoxious. She is naturally kindhearted and tries to avoid conflict when she can. If conflict does arise, at least between others, she does her best to step in and de-escalate it. Csarite has it easy to trust people if they appear to be honest and will always aim to be truthful unless it could hurt someone.
She does not value herself as much as he values those she holds close, rather taking the hit for someone than letting the other person get hurt. Her regeneration ability makes her feel invincible and she is not afraid to use it for good, even if it means spending a few days as a rock again.
Likes/Dislikes:
+ Socializing, exploring
+ Honesty and friendliness, forgiveness and selflessness
+ Flowers, nature
+ Smiling
- Painful sensations, whether to her or others.
- Brashness, inconsiderate
- Desolate or colorless places
- Showing her own form, at least to those she does not know
Fears: Succumbing to her corruption, losing those she holds dear.
Weapon: She can summon an umbrella resembling a large flower. Its petals are a mix of green, orange, and red. When unfolded the canopy can absorb droplets of liquids which can then be shot out as a projectile when the umbrella is collapsed. When unfolded it can work as a weaker shield, when collapsed it can work as a poor man's parrying tool.
Ability 1: Colorshift: Csarite is capable of temporarily changing the color of something or someone, including herself. When used casually, the color is dependant on her gem palette and emotions. With focus, she is capable of bruteforcing any color (or even a mixture of colors) to happen. The larger the target and the more complicated the color(s), the more difficult it will be for her to pull off. Once she has changed the color of something, the color will slowly fade over time, returning back to its original state. She has a natural affinity to coloring things the same shade as her gem palette which makes it a less straining action.
Ability 2: Adept Shapeshifting: Through extensive use of shapeshifting, Csarite has taught herself to be really good at it. She can easily shift her appearance to resemble something or someone and hold that shape for as long she wishes, making her "default" form almost unnecessary. That does not mean she can shapeshift into a skyscraper however, her shapeshifting size is limited to reasonable margins. Combined with her colorshifting ability, it can make her very hard to find should she choose to hide. Alternatively it could be a very useful tool for infiltration, taking on the form and color of other gems to trick others.
Fusions: None yet!
History: Some are just late bloomers. Csarite was one of them. Not wanting to leave the comfort of the ground, her gem slept a bit longer than everyone else and was forgotten about in the Beta Kindergarten. Emerging on her own she was clueless. Most knew their purpose as soon as they exited their holes, she did not. Whatever staying in the ground that long did to her, it had made her lose any predescribed instructions implanted into her. Yet she was alive, and Csarite took full advantage of this. She began wandering around, testing out the lightform she had been blessed with. She saw that there were a lot of holes in the red walls, just like the one she had came out of. Though at the time she didn't think much about it, had she taken just a wrong turn she would've met up with other gems. Her mind was busy with other things. Going from being an inanimate rock to a concious super-being was exciting. Her first contact was with a boulder. Dumbfounded by its round nature, she pounced towards it. Upon contact it would turn from gray to a plethora of colors, making her jump back out of shock. As the colors faded, she felt brave and approached again. A more gentle touch this time. From her fingertip, a lushious green spread onto the gray surface. Her first smile, it felt great. This only intensified the color, causing a wave of yellows to spread periodically through the green rock.
When she eventually discovered other living beings such as animals, they did not appreciate her closeness quite as much. Trying to turn the cute critters into different shades of pink was a great past-time, the only problem being that they were too afraid of her big size, not allowing her to approach them. It was the first time she learnt to shapeshift, trying to make herself just as small as the little squirrel she saw on a treebranch. Amazed by her silly powers, she abused them heavily. Being small and agile she could easily terrorize the local wildlife. Many laughs were had, so much so that the human tribes would make legends about her presence. A terrifying shapeshifting animal or insect showing bright colors. Her laughs echoing during the nights.
She herself had never seen a human. She was too caught up with the vibrant nature and wildlife, that when a spear caught her in the side it came as a surprise. Poof! The humans rejoiced, thinking the demon was vanquished. Her gem fell between the blades of grass, returning to the ground where it had once came. It had taught her a lesson: Fear. To avoid the humans, and that she did. Whenever humans would be present, she would make sure to hide. Disguise worked wonders, and it helped her train her powers. After years of hiding from them, she became curious, especially of the children who seemed much nicer. Csarite figured out that by resembling a human, they would recognize her as one of their own. They taught her to speak, and she spent generations playing with the children of the tribe. She was no longer seen as a monster, instead the legends spoke of a playful and friendly sprite that lived in the forests.
Playtime doesn't last forever. It was inevitable that she would eventually be confronted by her own kind, a kind she did not know to exist. At first she thought they were just other humans, and so she approached the colorful party. Immediately she was met with confrontation. These weird humans asked for some sort of identity. Csarite did not know these were fellow gems, and she could've never imagined it. One of the crew stepped forward and gave a forceful blow to unsuspecting Csarite, forcing her out of her shapeshifted form. They laughed at her and mocked her for her different form. She didn't look like other Csarites, she was overcooked. Another forceful blow ended up in her poofing, and she was carried to a strange place she had never seen the likes of. Tall crystalline walls, sharp and angular architecture. It was abnormal and didn't resemble the usual terrain she had known. Getting locked up in a tiny room, being subjected to experiments. She was so stressed, nothing felt right. Csarite couldn't stay in here, she had to get back.
Csarite had felt weird, almost sick. Something was very wrong. She didn't sleep often, but when she woke up one morning she was no longer in the facility. Instead she found herself in the middle of the human village. Csarite had a terrible headache and felt exhausted. When she looked around it was like a monster had ravaged through the village, leaving it deserted. Csarite felt sadness for the first time. She had lost so many friends. Sure, humans would dissapear as they aged, but there would always be new ones. Now they were all gone. How had it all happened? She couldn't recall much about what had happened, the time spent in the facility was a foggy memory at best. Unbeknownst to her she had been corrupted. Csarite would spend the rest of her time further exploring the Earth, now making sure to avoid gemkind for good. At least for the time being.
