Gemstone Location: His gemstone is located on his right hip, embedded in the scabbard his weapon appears in.

Appearance: He has the appearance of a warrior clad in jagged black and dark red armor. The only "skin" exposed is his dark red face and which is encased in a black helmet with dark red jagged horns. His eyes are a bright firey orange.
He looks similar to this, but the armor is black and red and his face is showing.
Personality: He is often serious and focused. He has difficulty associating with any cause or group. He feels a constant burning rage deep inside of him that he assuages by seeking out fights. He believes that the strong should only fight the strong. He utterly despises those who abuse those who cannot defend themselves and will actively attack those he sees doing this.
Fears: He fears being consumed by his own rage.
Weapon: His weapon is a black sword with dark red decorations. This sword can also become a throwing spear much like the one in the picture. This weapon is extremely sharp, just like his gem and can cut through nearly any physical material and some magical barriers. For example, it can pierce Roses' protective bubble, but not her shield.
Ability 1: Magma Shaping
Being born from magma, he is practically one with it and can manipulate and control it. When magma is nearby, he can use this ability instantaneously. When no magma is nearby, he can touch nearby rock with his hand and change it into magma that he can use. He can move and shape magma at will. When inert, available magma usually floats near him in the shape of a sphere. These are the main ways he does this.
Magma Weapon:
Rather than summon a second sword straight from his gem, he can summon a magma weapon that can assume the same forms as his gem weapon, a sword.
Magma Shield:
He can create a magma barrier to protect him or someone else. This barrier can be of varying size, depending on how much magma is available. Any where from a small hovering shield-like barrier or an entire wall.
Magma Projectile:
The third way he can use magma is to use it as a projectile attack. This can come in various shapes and sizes, though, like the shield, the size and number of projectiles is limited to the amount of available magma at the time. This projectile can become any shape he chooses and thus, it will vary based on his whim at the time.
Ability 2: Inner Fire
He is empowered by heat, getting stronger with the temperature of his environment. This also means he gets weaker when the temperature around him gets very cold. He can mitigate the cold for a period of time by using his magma shaping ability as a heat source. In extreme cold, he will retreat to his gem.
Fusions: Thorianite (with Meta)
History: Mahogany Obsidian was the first successful attempt to create a gemstone from magma. His creation was violent and explosive, the chamber used to create him protected his creators from the intense firestorm that raged for a few seconds during his "birth". Afterward, a single sharp, jagged shard of black and red obsidian remained. The new young gem manifested his first body in the form of a dragon shortly after that. He immediately went into a rage and recklessly attacked the walls of his birth chamber. Unsure of how dangerous he was, he was kept inside the chamber for many years while his creators discussed means to deal with him. It was decided that he was too dangerous to release and was frozen. The frozen gem was kept in storage for many years until an ambitious gem believed he could tame this "monster".
Mahogany Obsidian now underwent a training and taming regiment in side a cold chamber to inhibit his power. It was in this chamber that his mentor taught him to control his rage and how to fight. Each time progress was made, the rooms temperature would be raised a little. It was here that Obsidian also manifested his new form, his armored warrior form. He was taught that he was a weapon with no will, only a mission.
After his training was complete, he was sent to Earth to maintain order among the gems that lived there. He was told to inform Homeworld if things got out of hand and back up would be sent to assist him. With the communication hub and the space warp down, this is now impossible and he is stranded. He is sometimes referred to as "The Black Knight" by other gems.
