Fears:
not being able to follow through on his word.
Weapon: His cavalry sabre.
Ability 1: Thermometer- Black Opal can change the temperature of the area surrounding him as well as the temperature of his body. In direct combat, it's use is limited. But if he gets a hand on someone, he can turn them into a puddle or a popsicle. Provided he has contact for at least 20 seconds to start up the whole thing. This ability doesn't have that much range. Around 4 meters would be an approximate area of effect.
Ability 2:
Ultimate Equestrianism- Black Opal is able to summon or create a horse to ride. This horse serves as the basis for the majority of his attacks. This beast is by no means invincible.
Fusions: None as of yet.
History: Black Opal doesn't have very fond memories of Homeworld. While he was a good soldier, Black Opal wasn't invincible. So when a military operation went awry and he saw things he wasn't supposed to, how could he defend himself against his superiors? The answer: He couldn't. Opal didn't think he had much of a chance against the other gems. Not after they bubbled him up and shot him off into space. How long was he out there, floating among the stars? Longer than intended, but Opal managed to keep his sanity in the deafening silence. While his containment unit was headed for a solar system several light-years away, a star unexpectedly going supernova knocked him off course. WAY off course. When Black Opal had exited his gem, the containment unit was broken, having crashed into a mountain. He looked around, observing the surrounding landscape, and froze when he heard footsteps and odd noises. Several specimens of the indigenous species had come to investigate the crash site. What they found was a magnificent gemstone, unlike any they had seen before. The leader stepped towards the opal, and picked it up carefully. Several hours later, it was at the dwelling of this creature. Black Opal exited his gem and meandered around the dwelling, and found the creature who had taken him here. In between the stuttering of the man, Black Opal had gotten a name: William Vogelstein. This William fellow had supplied Opal with many things. As time went on and Black Opal gathered more intelligence, he found out that he was on a planet called Earth and that Vogelstein's country was engaging in war with another country called France. War was something Black Opal knew very well already. Apparently, the French leader was a mastermind, and had proven it. Black Opal intended to meet this French leader, whose name was Napoleon. Napoleon Bonaparte. He never got the chance to do so however, as these battlegrounds were much different than the Gem warfields he was used to.The men marched in lines and formations he hadn't seen before. Opal adapted to this new war, and honed his skills as a cavalryman on the battlefield. Black Opal rose up to become a cavalry officer in the Freikorps. Together with William, Black Opal wreaked havoc among the lines of men on the opposite side of the field. Black Opal was forced to retreat into his gem when he took a cannon shot at point-blank range in 1815. William surprisingy managed to find the gem afterwards, and had it fitted into a necklace, believing that Black Opal would come out when he needed help. Even after the war, Black Opal didn't leave the necklace, and stayed inside for QUITE a while. Roughly 2,000 years sleeping. (Did he need 2,000 years to heal? No. He was just really tired. you try floating through space and fighting Napoleon.)
