[Order Of The Diamonds]

The origin of the rumour could never been found. Like a ghost it seemed to sprout up and spread like a epidemic, soon most gems seemed to know about it.Being passed through whispered and excited tongue between each gem and as it grew the speculation of the rumour had become even more extravagant. Its basis though was still the same. Something was going to happen at the communication hub, it was going to be silent no more. Very soon.

Through empty pillars  and ghostly winds the sound danced. It began small,like most things growing in pitch and volume until it spread through all reaches of the hub and beyond. The older gems would most likely recognise the sound. It was one that was heard many times when the hubs were active. Its pitch designed specifically on a frequency  that made it distinct from the ambience of the natural area. It meant one thing and one thing only as it always has. Incoming transmission on all frequency from a single location. The Home-world planet. 

The white beam of light ruptured through earth's atmosphere and strikes the communication hub. Finally creating another connection like it had before. The seemed to be distinct though, it dove through all parts of the hub activating all the projectors. Whatever this message was, it was important and it was going to be project all though the hub.

"-ea-e,p-a-e w-rk" The voice was distorted and the signal seemed to be mostly static "- do-'t know if this is going to get through" The signal seemed to clear and the image finally came through. The large figure, the white dress, and the pink flowing hair.

"I don't know how many of you will see this but it needed to be explained. I'm sorry for trapping so many of you on this planet but you need to understand it was the only way to stop them. This planet made me realise what they were doing was wrong and this was the only way to try and delay them. The Homeworld was going to... destroy this planet like so many of the others. The kindergartens were used to make soldiers and it was draining the life from this beautiful planet. In my arrogance I allowed them to do something similar to several other gem planets but this place made me realise, humans,animals, all thing living on here don't deserve that fate and I should have stood up against it sooner." Rose Quartz explained.

In the background explosion could be heard and the camera and entire building shook from its impact, worryingly she glanced sideways before moving towards the camera "Homeworld will come there, and when they do, i beg of you to protect the planet, save the humans,the plants,the animals. Save the Earth. It does matter if your a Ruby, a Pearl, a Kyanite, a warrior, a servant  or a technician. It doest matter what Homeworld defined as your role, because if you protect Earth like us you can be free, you are a Crystal Gem, marked by the stars above and Guardians of Earth." By this time another explosion rocked the building, behind Rose a large 4 armed gem fell, its form blurring as it separated into a tall red gemstone and a white one. The two of them summoned their weapons as the red one turned to Rose

"We need to leave now!"

The Transmission ended with one last frame. Rose had twisted towards the explosion, a pink shield had formed in front of her blocking a sharpened green Axe, a single tear falling down her eye. her own gemstone seemed to be surrounded by a star shape cut into her dress.

A dark hued gem stared bemusedly as the pillar of light banished, looking extremely confused. Just.. what?

"What in the world is going on?" Creating soldiers? That's what the Kindergarten was for?

He had to snort.

"That's a hilarious pun." He muttered while snickering a bit, shacking his head slowly as he did. It really wasn't the time for him to be joking around. 

'Protect this place?' From what? He guessed the planet being drained from it's energy did sound pretty bad, but it wasn't like a bunch of manufactured gems would go on a rampage without being given the order; They were cutoff from Homeworld as much as any of them, they were pretty much free to do as they pleased... Okey, when put like that, he could see some gems, even from homeworld, causing some trouble. But more important than anything...

He was still trapped in the blasted blue rock!

He had come because of the rumors, yes, but it was because he had been expecting the message to be an assurance from Homeworld that they would be sending back a ship, or repairing the warps, or something!

But then, did he really want to return to Homeworld now? After hearing what they planned to do? He might not have been some bastion of morality, but he liked to think there were certain lines that shouldn't be crossed... Mass genocide sounded like one those.

'Ugh...' He palmed his face softly, before letting his palm slide down, pulling on his skin before it slapped back into shape. The pink lady had called all Gems who stayed on the blue rock 'Crystal gems, Guardians of the Earth', marked by the stars above yadayada. He didn't really understand what was going to happen from now on. The lady and her group had been under attack by what appeared to be other gems. Did that mean that becoming a Crystal Gem would put him against the Homeworld?

That... was much scarier than he cared to admit. He did not like that possibility in the least. But he was already trapped on Earth, though. Would the homeworld gems even ask on whose side was whom when (and he assumed that they would come, so it was only a matter of time) they came to finish what they started on Earth?

'Doesn't seem like we have much of a choice now.' He thought wryly as his brow pulled together, his teeth biting into his lower lip. Reasons to fight for Earth... he needed reasons. 

Well, the music was pretty good! ... Some times. They also had some cool clothes, and the food... well, the food was nothing to write home about. He scratched the back of his head; that was it? He knew he hadn't exactly been exploring the planet, but that was all he could say about the Earth?

... It had beautiful plant life, now that he thought about it. When he stopped to think, they also appeared to have a rather interesting number of cultures. Animals were nice to look at, and the way the sun rose and set on the horizon, there was nothing like that on Homeworld.

They still weren't truly good reasons to him, but he wasn't exactly loyal to Homeworld either; there was little reason to be, after all. No close friends, no true family...

Reaching with his right arm, he slid it across his chest, the single, yellow diamond that had been branded upon it immediately changing to a single shooting star.

'Marked by the Star, as they said.' He didn't know how good of a guardian he would be, he just hoped he would make it out of whatever happened from all of this alive.

    It was a new experience for me, not having a purpose. Since my cultivation Ive had a mission. I was charged with the protection of my sisters Melanite and Topazolite. It was my duty to keep them safe and I had failed. I had failed. I had failed to keep Melanite from becoming a terrorist; destroying an entire planet! I still don't know why she did it, I barely had any time to even notice it was happening. Because my blindness I had condemned billions to death. But even that was not what weighed on my heart the most. I had failed to keep Topazolite alive. She was a precious soul, pure, a light that I had let die. The shards of her gem embedded by her own dying hand into my chest to keep my pathetic life from fading with the planet was a constant reminder of my failure.

    That was months ago. I now find myself in some Gem`s starship nearing a new planet to survey. Fuscite, the Gem that saved me from the depths of space was gracious enough to allow me to remain on the ship and join him on his missions. His was not too different from my own family`s mission though the specifics varied. But over time I began to wonder what the use it of it all? None of his reports have had responses and my own transmissions have gone unanswered. Perhaps the homeworld no longer cares for our mission or we've become obsolete. Then again we've been gone for thousands of years, most of which I was unconscious for. Perhaps they think we're dead...

    An indication from the communications array brought me out of my head. A transmission? I took a quick look at the communication protocol, a transmission from the homeworld?! I couldn't believe it! Finally a response! Hold on, the transmission isn't directed at the ship... It... must have been picked up by accident. But if it's not meant for us it must be... the planet below... but why? For who?
My fingers move quickly over the keyboard eager to open the message. As it opened on the screen I watched...
ﾞ-ea-e,p-a-e w-rk" The voice was distorted and the signal seemed to be mostly static "- do-'t know if this is going to get through" I made some quick adjustments to the array hoping to clear some of the static... but the message remained distorted to a degree. I managed to clear up the audio enough to hear at least but the image faded in and out... The messenger appeared to be a pink Gem in distress.

"I don't know... I'm ... trap... so many of you... stop the----nd delay them. *vuerrrrrrrrsk-e Homeworld... destroy this planet *kkuuurshhh* like so many of the others... kinderga-*raining the life frplanet... don't deserve that fate and I should have stood up against it sooner."
"Homeworld will come *bereeeefsh* beg of you to protect the planet, save the humans,the plants,the-werpv* Save the Earth.... doest matter what Homeworld defined as you... protect Earth like us... be free... rystal Gem, marked by the stars above... Guardians of Earth."
    I was without words. Gems are coming here, Gems ARE here? And we're are headed right towards them! But what of this invasion? The homeworld's plan is to destroy this planet? Why? For, wait... was Melanite trying to do the same thing? Was that her plan? My mind was going everywhere trying to connect the dots. It was just a random message but it brought so many questions. What do I do now? My hand wandered to the gem on my chest, I can almost hear Topazolite if I really try hard to remember. A moment of clarity flowed through my body like a wave and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

My name called from the bridge caught my attention. Fuscite must be preparing to land. As I move up to the cockpit I'm trying to formulate exactly how I'm going to break it to him. Whatever what will be said there's no doubt in my mind. I'm done with this mission.

Carol had heard the rumors about a possible transmission coming in from homeworld. She decided to check it out. She sat down and waited for a possible sign of a transmission.

"-ea-e,p-a-e w-rk" The voice was distorted and the signal seemed to be mostly static "- do-'t know if this is going to get through" The signal seemed to clear and the image finally came through. The large figure, the white dress, and the pink flowing hair.

"I don't know how many of you will see this but it needed to be explained. I'm sorry for trapping so many of you on this planet but you need to understand it was the only way to stop them. She was happy the message wasn't a hoax. She thought about what she said. She had been so happy when she found the kindergarden was shut down, but really more because the gems in poor conditions that lived there. Home world might as well haven of just totured them. On the other hand. The dominant species on earth didn't seem all that friendly.  She was torn between sides. Homeworld was her birth home, she should naturally want to defend it. Was it a bad thing she leaned towards the humans earth? The star that sat under her neck shined brightly and grew. ~But am I a traitor for doing so? What will my friends from homeworld think?~ She thought as the star shrunk down to its original size.

    Home world did it for warriors, but earth they could suffer from it. The star on her neck grew larger once again. She knew what she had to do. The star shined brightly as if locking into it's size. "Hmm, crystal gem it is!" She left and returned to Beach City ready to defend earth at any moment.

After she had just visited one of the few planets she had left, once getting into close proximity to Earth her holograms and screens inside of her ship would start glitching, like there was some kind of transmission. Not too long after, the green and black screens and holograms would be replaced by a pink creature. It looked very familiar, as though she had seen her somewhere. She decided to listen to what she had to say.

"I don't know how many of you will see this but it needed to be explained. I'm sorry for trapping so many of you on this planet but you need to understand it was the only way to stop them. This planet made me realise what they were doing was wrong and this was the only way to try and delay them. The Homeworld was going to... destroy this planet like so many of the others. The kindergartens were used to make soldiers and it was draining the life from this beautiful planet. In my arrogance I allowed them to do something similar to several other gem planets but this place made me realise, humans,animals, all thing living on here don't deserve that fate and I should have stood up against it sooner."

Giving a non-amused look on her face, she decided to speak to the pink creature, acknowledging that she wouldn't hear her anyways. "Congratulations, you finally get it. As if it wasn't obvious enough." she said, continuing to listen to the transmission that had intruded her systems. She wasn't fond of intrusions like these, they could really be a bother sometimes.

"Homeworld will come there, and when they do, i beg of you to protect the planet, save the humans,the plants,the animals. Save the Earth. It does matter if your a Ruby, a Pearl, a Kyanite, a warrior, a servant or a technician. It doest mat-" she forced the transmission to turn off, getting too bored with this "heroic speech". She had more important things to do than listen to a transmission. She had not acknowledged she was talking about the planet Earth, although rather the ground earth. Alot of planets would be inhabited by plants and animals having a ground made out of earth, it was nothing new. Neither did she know what these "hue-mens" were. Whatever it was, it wasn't her problem. It was time to continue checking on the kindergartens on the various planets. That was her job and duty.
