Chalk roared in anger and frustration at the dysfunctional warp pad. He slams his fist against it, in a pathetic attempt to get it to work.
"I... I just want to go home." He said. He slammed his fist against it once more, and slumped down, in defeat. He stretched himself out on the floor. He stared up into the night sky wondering if he'll ever get to see his friends ever again. He lies there for a few minutes more enjoying the silence. That is until, an abrupt noise cut through the quiet.
Chalk shot straight up. His heart racing.
"Who's there? He asked, Summoning his two chakrams. He turned around and was slammed backwards into a warp pad. Dizzily, he stood up and tried to focus on what was attacking him.
"Five, six, seven... Eight! Eight legs! Which means..." The thing barrels towards him, poison dripping from its pincers. He jumps up, barely dodging its attack.
(sorry if this is bad, this is the first RP thread I've ever done so..."
Last Edit: Aug 14, 2015 4:24:39 GMT by ChalkEmerald: It ended
Carbonado yawned as he stepped on the warp pad of the Crystal temple, looking relatively bored as he pursed his lips; What did he intend to do, exactly? Going to the Space Warp would probably manage nothing for him; everything was damaged beyond repair, not to mention that the black gem was no longer interested in returning to Homeworld. But still... fixing the warp pads was as easy as sending one of the spherical automatons to seal the damage done; it was probably for the best to at least check the place and ensure everything was as it should:
Completely and absolutely broken beyond repair.
The light of the pad shone bright as it teleported Carbonado to the Space warp, the process not taking more than a few seconds as his form swiftly materialized above the only working pad of the place.
What expected him was nothing he would have thought would appear on the space warp; a rather large spider, attacking a much smaller green gem. He idly noted said gem was familiar; not to mention taller than him.
"Oh; it's that guy." What was his name again? He was pretty bad with names; he could only remember a few of them, mostly because of the memorable meetings attached to them. Amber, Variscite, Fuscite, Industrial Diamond... Red, he thought was the name of that gem that had been around for the sparring match.
"I should probably help." He noted dully as the green gem continued to be attacked by the Spider. Scratching the back of his head, the black gem slowly went to crouch, his legs bending under him and his projected muscles coiling tight, before he sprung up, leaping high above the taller gem and the spider. As he was falling towards them, he held his arm down, his palm shining bright and vibrating quickly.
A directed explosion seemed to go off, the concussive wave of force flying in a wide spread range, most of its power concentrated at the center directed towards the Spider.
He landed close to the green gem, turning to look slowly at him, his face scrunched as he tried to remember the guy's name... Green gems, green gems... Jade? No, his gem was translucent.
"Uh... You are, um... Emerald, I think?" he said, scratching the back of his head. "Sup!"
Chalk paused for a moment to process what just happened. This gem... He met him before, at the sky temple. What a coincidence!
"Um, yes, that's me, Chalk Emerald." He said, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. Though, Chalk was pretty sure that he could've handled the spider the spider himself... not that he wasn't thankful. He stared at the black gem for the moment, unsure what to say.
"Ahem, I suppose... a thank you would be, uh, appropriate. So, thank you." He said, somewhat nervously. "Umm... please excuse me for asking, but... What's your name? You did not tell me when we first met, so, it would be nice to know." 'Oh man,' thought chalk, 'I really AM bad at talking to people.'
The black gem scratched the back of his head, shrugging. "Nice to see you again, Chalk." he pointed vaguely gestured at himself as he looked around the area, making sure every pad seemed suitably useless. "My name is Carbonado." he said, absentmindedly answering the question; everything seemed suitably useless around the area. Good.
He turned his gaze back to the green gem, eyeing him lazily. "Whatcha doing here, anyways? Checking to see if these pieces of junk work?" he asked curiously, his leg bumping one of the warp pads lightly. "Nothing to search here; they were destroyed pretty good." he said as a matter of factly, turning away from it and glancing once again around the area; couldn't be too sure. Needed to ensure all Warp pads remained broken down.
"It's also quite nice to see you again too, Carbonado." said Chalk, awkwardly shifting in place. "I... I just had to check, I miss home so much. I can't stand the thought of never seeing all my friends again." He glanced over at the black gem, with sad eyes. He sat down an leaned back to look up at the blanket above that is the starry night sky. He wondered how things were doing on homeworld. Is everything alright? Are they also having problems with corrupted gems?
He looked over at Carbonado, pondering what to ask next. "Hey, do you think we'll ever be able to go back to home world?" Chalk really hoped that someone else also wanted to.
Carbonado shrugged absentmindedly. "Homeworld was boring for me; managed to live there little over a thousand years without making any important relationships or lasting bonds. Kind of sad, now that I think about it." He would rather not ever see that place again, considering he had sided himself with the Crystal Gems; if he ever found himself back there, it would be either invading or dragged in chains. He wasn't one for real violence, so he would much prefer not ever having to the tall buildings of Homeworld planet again.
"If nothing else, Homeworld will come here on their own." To end him and all the other crystal gems, most likely; he wasn't too anxious to see them, naturally. He would much rather they just ignored the Earth; it was a relatively small planet, why were they even interested in it? Plenty of other planets in the universe held life within them, so why did Homeworld want this one? Where they doing it just out of principle? Because the Pink Lady and her friends had offended the rulers of Homeworld? No way to know, no real reason to care.
"I guess I could understand... I wonder what my friends are doing now?" Chalk asked himself. He imagined them either preparing for war, scared half to death. Or, more preferably, relaxing somewhere, with no worries, or troubles in their minds. Hopefully not having to fight corrupted versions of their own kind. He didn't even know if they were still alive!
"I mean, Earth is beautiful, wonderful, relaxing, well, when you're not getting attacked by giant spiders, but, they have a whole lot more people, more resources, more engineers, more... everything. I'm not sure we'll have even a slimmer of a chance if they ever decide to attack us." He said, standing up, and turning to look Carbonado straight in the eye.
Carbonado shrugged dismissively, obviously not too invested in the protection of the Earth; he didn't dislike humans or their creations, nor their planet, but he was honestly just protecting it for the sake of a few Earth gems he had met at this point. Still, Emerald spoke only truths; as far as war was implied, the Earth didn't stood a chance. He didn't know how many gems there were on Earth, but he imagined the numbers couldn't compare to the combined might of the entire Homeworld Army.
"We will burn that bridge when we get there." he said with a shrug, "The Pink Lady seemed to be very strong and important, and not silly at all. And yet, she believed that somehow, we would be able to protect the Earth. She must know something we don't. Heck, maybe she has an army of her own. Earth isn't the only planet that gets the Kindergarten treatment. If other gems have seen what she did in other planets, we could be seeing at a revolt all around the universe."
Chalk sat their for a moment fully analyzing what Carbonado said. "For all we know, the homeworld gems could be working on some super advanced death lazer." He chuckled at the idea. "But considering how most of the gems on earth aren't really working together in an organized fashion, they really do have a big advantage." He paused for a moment, thinking about what to say next.
"Let's see, what do the homeworld gems have going for them; Technology, numbers, strategy, overall experience. Us? I guess we have sheer willpower... But that alone isn't nearly enough to win a war..." He stood up, and glanced at the other gem. "I hate to sound pessimistic, but things aren't looking so bright if homeworld decides to get aggresive, let's just hope that the Pink Lady has one helluva plan."
The black gem shrugged. "Hopefully she does." he said simply, leaning against one of the pillars around. "Don't worry too much, I was part of the army for little over a thousand years. Most of the scrubs you see as privates and sergeants are not nearly as strong as they would like you to believe; combat Gem is one of those terms that has lost its meaning."
Truly; nearly every single low rank soldier he knew was easy to dispatch, or only relatively strong. Nothing too different from the gems he had met here, and the soldiers had been trained. It was no wonder most of them had stuck in their position for over a millennium. They just could not advance; Not when compared to the higher ranked officers, who were truly powerful gems.
"The good thing about being at a disadvantage is that they are likely to look down on us. Send in weak troops to try and defeat us; maybe. Either way, I choose to trust the pink lady's judgement on the matter. It should be interesting; what the future has in store for us.
"I supposed so" Said the green gem, starting towards the warp pad which would return him to the temple. While he was concerned about how the Crystal Gems would deal with any homeworld offense, he was content knowing that he'd be able to help, even if it was just a tiny bit. He looked back at the black gem, and a word came to mind. Friend. ~hmm, I guess we are friends now~ This brought a smile to the tall gems face. ~A friend... Good to know that I have some on Earth now, too.~ He waved goodbye to the black gem, "Well, I'm gonna head back. I guess... I'll see you later, Carbonado." He stepped on to the warp pad and it emitted light for a few seconds, and then he was back at the temple.
Carbonado shrugged, waving away at the gem as he left, crossing his arms behind his head as he gazed around the place. The Earth would be attacked by Homeworld soon, no doubt about that. Even in the face of the impending threat though, Carbonado couldn't really say he felt anything. He didn't think he was numb, more likely it was that the seriousness of the situation hadn't hit him yet, and would probably not do so until the Homeworld ships were standing above the planet itself, their guns trained on them and asking for unconditional surrender... if they asked for surrender at all and didn't just immediately engage them in mortal combat.
"Well, that should help me with my nap soon." He muttered as he scratched the back of his head, his feet shuffling under him as he gazed at the largest warp pad, the one that had taken him from Homeworld to Earth the first time. "It really was a bad idea, coming to Earth..." he muttered, frowning a bit. The frown slowly lost most of its strength, however, as he thought about Amber. And then Variscite; and all the gems he had met. He hadn't befriended a whole lot of them, he just had a bunch of acquaintances... and Amber and Variscite. But, so far, it was more than he had on Homeworld. So he guessed he would stick to Earth for a while.

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.

*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
