At the time of the posting of this thread, there are quite frankly only a few accepted gem artefacts (Err 3 to be exact). The suggestion that I am presenting may not be of the greatest concern at this moment, but may be of larger use later on. I was thinking that instead of just pm'ing njrk97 for dibs on an artifact, we could have at the least a requirement that you have to RP obtaining the artifact. Preferably (in my opinion of course) it would be nice to have a dedicated section for putting all the threads pertaining to collecting the artifacts. I feel that this could open up options when it comes to the gem artifacts. For example, what could be done, is allowing slightly more powerful artifacts to be created (or at least ones without too many limitations). We could then categorize artifacts based on how good/powerful/bad they are and have different RP requirements for obtaining them. Like.. for a weaker artifact, maybe the RP requirement is just walking into a forest and picking it up from a pedestal or something, while for a stronger artifact it could be trekking into a dangerous temple, fighting off corrupted gems, rolling past traps, etc. until they claim the artifact. This is kind of similar to how the crystal gems from the SU show often go on missions. Now, this does bring up a few hiccups. For one, we would definitely need more moderators/admins/something (which is coincidentally already a thread on this board) to look over these RP threads, perhaps even running them (Setting the scene, rp'ing generic monsters/corruptedgems, determining if the RP was sufficient enough to earn the artifact, etc.). This concept is kinda rough right now, but I think it'd be pretty cool. Groups of gems could work together to obtain stronger artifacts, then decide who would keep it, and we'd also have a convenient way of knowing who has what artifacts. I dunno, I'll have to think about this further.
