Onyx had been poofed back into her gem the third time before coming here. She decided it was time to learn more about herself, after all the Onyx she knew, served Blue Diamond. Not any more though, Onyx was stranded here, by choice and chance. She felt weak, it was hard for her to concentrate on anything that didn't have to do with Homeworld, she was so occupied, her brute strength wasn't even paying attention. Onyx had finally gotten time to relax, after pacing back and fourth so much, that she could have dug a 6 foot hole. She decided to sit down, right in front of Rose's fountain. She felt better here, as she didn't have to worry about corrupted gems, or very many gems, though exactly in front of the fountain, was not the best place. She ended up somewhere else and sat, and for the first time in a while, Homeworld seemed so far out of her mind.
Carbonado had pretty much made the fountain of Rose Quartz a constant place for him to visit; the calming sound of the water flowing down the statue's eyes and the relaxing feeling of the healing water on his projected skin enough of a motivation for him to realize the short trip from the warp pad. His arms on his pockets, the black gem was the picture of laziness as he sauntered slowly towards the fount. A yawn escaped his mouth as the sound of flowing water reached his ears, his lip pulling up gently as he continued advancing. However, he stopped in his tracks at the sight of another gem. Lately, it appeared he wasn't the only one who frequented the place.
Luckily, he happened to have met this gem in the past; Chuck had been training alongside her and another gem... her name was... um...
'Right, Onyx. The name I can't say too much.' Good thing she had such a distinct personality back then; it helped him differentiate her from the small pool of names he could reliably remember.
He resumed his path towards the fountain, simply speaking up as he continued, "Yo, what's up." he said simply as his jeans morphed into a pair of knee high shorts, the gem climbing onto the edge of the fountain and letting his legs into the water, sighing pleasantly at the feeling; he slowly turned his gaze towards the other gem; she didn't look like she wanted to speak with him, but then again, he rarely ever made a good first impression on anyone, and calling Chuck 'Green Guy' had likely not made a great impression either.
Onyx smirked at the black gem, she wasn't sure if it was a little to overboard on her first impression. "Homeworld is crawling all around my thoughts. Like a virus! I finally had gotten to okay." She said a slight harsh, she didn't mean to, it was just frustrating. Onyx asked to join him, but didn't wait. Her dress morphed into a bikini, and emphasized her gem between her cleavage. The extra faucet could be seen. "Sorry, Carbonado? Was it? Can I just call you Bon Bon, it's easier on my tongue. Oh, I always forget Rose's tears." Onyx dipped her cut from earlier in. "It hurt okay, would you appreciate a gash in your shoulder blade? Cause I can help you with it." She smiled jokingly and dipped her hands in the water.
Carbonado lazily waved his arm, obviously not thinking much of it. "Sure, go ahead. Bon Bon sounds nice." he shrugged at her second offer though, pursing his lips. "I would imagine so; Unfortunately, I don't have many masochistic tendencies, so I'm gonna have to turn down that offer. Thanks, though." he said with mirth as he leaned back, his arms holding most of his weight as he yawned. Looking over her quickly healing shoulder injury, he cocked his head to the side. Seemed like the other gem had left his mark quite well during the sparring session. Scratching his chin, he turned his gaze towards the statue of the Pink lady. He idly wondered if he would ever get to meet the leader of the Crystal gems; apparently, she was actually rather renown on Earth.
"Hey; you ever met the lady over there?" he said, motioning towards the statue of Rose Quartz with his head. "Now that I think about; what do you think about the entire war thing going on? I think its pretty silly myself, but I have friends on Earth, something I can't say on Homeworld. So I guess I'm in the war regardless of whatever I want."
"Yeah, sorry, I just can't believe how much it hurt." She smiles at him, and his tendency to yawn made her smirk. She sat in silence until he hit her with the next question.
"No. I've never met her. And, actually, I have friends on the Homeworld, people I didn't bring. Such as Hamburgite. She was like a humans family, to me. And the war is setting boundaries. For both homes. And I am sorry for my first impression, it was a bit jerky.
The black gem waved his hand dismissively, "Eh, don't worry. I'm sure my absent mindedness wasn't exactly an endearing quality. Still can't believe I called Chuck 'Green Guy'. Still can't believe I'm calling him 'Chuck', actually." He crossed his arms, trying to summon up his poor memory; surely, he could at least recall someone's name, right? He knew that Chuck's name was somewhat similar to, well, Chuck. But he couldn't really think of a gem that sounded like that, so he decided to drop it for the moment, deeming Onyx's words perhaps more important.
"Hmm. Wonder how this will all go; I don't really know Homeworld's policies on Traitorous gems." Because he and quite literally every gem on Earth technically belonged to Homeworld, regardless of their place of birth and whether or not they even knew it existed. But, more importantly, because he, as a soldier, was technically betraying his Homeworld for a pretty selfish reason: He had nothing to care about on Homeworld, while on Earth, he did. Scratching his chin, he realized that he was being very much an egoist... and that he didn't care nearly as much as he probably should about realizing such a thing.
"Man. It sucks to realize I'm an ass; it sucks worse to realize I don't particularly care."
Onyx face palmed, he was so terrible with names, "Chalk, Chalk Emerald. Green guy, wrong. Chuck, wrong. Okay? Good." His next words surprised Onyx, "You don't care? You realize that they have more Militia support than us, right? And with Yellow Diamond at the head, well we aren't going to do so well." Onyx punched him, "Don't you realize, there are people here we care for and gems there we care for, or at least me. So, I'm sorry."
"Right, right. I will remember that, Chalk Emerald." he said, trying to memorize the name; he knew it was probably a futile effort; he wouldn't be able to remember Emerald until he did something memorable enough in his presence. Carbonado tilted to the side as he was punched, though his hand still waved at her words.
"Don't worry too much about that. The Homeworld army is spread thin as it is; there's plenty of planets around the galaxy they need to keep in check; of them all, Earth is hardly the most valuable of them." he doubted they could afford to just take all their forces and throw them at one small planet; more advanced civilizations than Earth were probably fighting tooth and nail for their worlds as they spoke. The moment Homeworld took their soldiers elsewhere, they would probably lose those fights. "They will probably send a relatively small number of elite combat gems our way. Dangerous, yes, but I'm sure there must be at least a few gems on Earth that can match them now; all we need to do is make more of them."
He pursed his lips as he took in her last words.
"I meant I don't care about being an Ass; I'm on the Crystal Gem's side simply because I have friends on their side. But I also have friends on Homeworld's side; they just happen to also be on Earth." He idly thought of Fuscite as he said this words; the hologram using gem was rather loyal to his home planet, even though they had long since forgotten about him dozens of millenniums ago.
Jadeite watched silently as the two Gems conversated. She didn't know whether to speak up about her presence or just keep to herself. Jadeite was a of a reverse Gem, so she wasn't really fond of holding conversations all of the time. Only when neccessary.
She began to listen more closely to their conversation. They were talking about the Crystal Gems, their friends who rebelled and their friends who decided to follow the Homeworld Gem leaders every move (more specifically, Yellow Diamond). Jadeite herself was pretty neutral, and didn't really feel comfortable with the topic of conversation, which gave her another reason to stay silent. A majority of her friends/loved ones had sided with the Yellow Diamond and the other Homeworld Gems. At this point, Jadeite herself didn't really even know who to side with herself.
Onyx had nodded along, she dropped the subject of sides and picked up a new one.
"Bon Bon, I want to show you my last form, the one I had with BlueDiamond." She let off a dark pulse and her hair shortens, an eye is shown she pulls over her hair to reveal a singular blue diamond of dark coloration. "See it?" She points at it and smiles. And reverts back to regular form and smiles.
The black gem cocked his head to the side, noting the difference between the two forms. "Well, that looked pretty nice. Certainly a lot more effort than I put in, I guess." He admitted, his arm lazily moving over his chest, as it crossed over it, the star turned into a simple yellow diamond. That was pretty much it; Carbonado didn't put much effort in appearances, not thinking the mattered much at the end of the day. But... "Oh, right!" he passed his arm over his belts, making them both disappear. "Didn't have those before Earth." He glanced down at his shoes, which looked much like simplified sneakers he had seen young humans wear. With a simple tap, they turned into blank boots.
"Well, this is pretty much it, I guess." He commented, before turning back to his regular form, dropping onto the edge of the fountain to sit down. "So you worked for the Blue Diamond division. Hmm, technology and culture... What's that like, anyways? I just got sent to beat stuff into submission for the most part."
"Sorry to interrupt... your conversation, but Onyx, you were associated with Blue Diamond?" Jadeite didn't like speaking up much, especially when other people were in the middle of having a conversation. But she needed to speak up in this case. Jadeite herself used to work for Blue Diamond, and she didn't even recognise the Onyx gem. Jadeite was a look-out for the Blue Diamond's clan, due to her telescopic powers. And she never once remembered encountering an Onyx gem. "I used to work for Blue Diamond myself." Jadeite continued, just to clear up any potential confusion. Other than not recognising the Onyx gem, she didn't really recognise the Gem it was conversating with. Was it... a Carbanado gem? No way, it couldn't be. Even if it was, why would it be here? Jadeite was totally confused, and her confusion was very obvious on her face.
Onyx was startled by Jadeite suddenly speaking that she fell into Rose's fountain, laughing. "Really Jade? You used to work for blue diamond? I mean it was okay, how about you?" Onyx got out of the Fountain, and sat next to Carbonado, her legs nearly touching his. "I wish I could have met Rose, I mean back on Homeworld, I've seen her but never met her." Onyx suddenly felt the thoughts of Homeworld washed over her, and she felt a longing.
Carbonado didn't know why the Jade gem looked so confused, but he figured she would tell them if it was important. He didn't much share Onyx's feelings of longing, not caring much whether he was on Homeworld or Earth; At least Earth had some variety to it, even if it was as dull as one could expect from a wet rock. It certainly packed more action than homeworld did, what with the rather constant stream of Gem monsters appearing on a daily to weekly basis.
He glanced at Onyx, leaning back against the side of the fountain before looking at the statue of Rose. He hadn't actually heard of her until he had crashed onto Earth. "I never actually heard of her until I got here." He admitted with a carefree shrug. "I'm surprised, since I hear she is actually a fairly famous gem." He always seemed to never pay attention on important topics, unfortunately. Ah well, it wasn't like it ultimately mattered in the end.
Onyx was very surprised at what her friend had said. She almost fell in the fountain. "You mean you've never heard of," She pauses to transform into Rose, "THE Rose Quartz?" She was just amazed, but there was more Onyx wanted too know about Carbonado other than what she had just learned.
"Carbonado, do you believe in her, Rose, Jadeite do you? I mean Rose is the reason we stand here, on Earth. Without Rose I'd never have left those screens, I wouldn't have found a place to go. I believe in Rose and everything she believes in, even if fusion is slightly different, it's still apart of us. I think Rose knows that, and that's why she started this Rebellion, to be everything we need and to show us everything we don't know." Onyx had stood up in that process, but as she finished she slumped down in embarrassment, she had just given a speech for absolutely nothing, and wasn't sure why.
