It is said that Millenniums ago, during the beginnings of the Greek Empire, one particular set of gems were born. This gems, with their magical powers and superhuman capabilities, seemed like gods to the primitive humans that formed the smalls civilizations from the past. And true to their arrogant nature, this gems not only allowed them to adore them as gods; they encouraged them, Forced them, even. Contrary to the popular belief, the greek pantheon was very real. It just so happens that it wasn't made up of gods; it was made of Gems.
One of those Gems was dubbed by the humans as: Apollo, God of the sun, Light, and Music, and the 'twin brother' of the goddess Artemis. Regarded as a beautiful youth, Apollo was known as a healer and protector from evil by his mortal subjects, and held in high regard by all human adorers. However, it was said that when angered, he could commit rather horrifying feats of rage.
It is unknown if he was ultimately defeated and forced into becoming a gem item, or if he simply decided to become one; the current location of it, however, is said to be deep within the Sky Temple, where only those of legendary qualities can possibly reach it.

Part 1: The Arrival
Determination filled Amber's neon orange eyes as she stepped off the warp pad and onto the ancient grounds of the Sky Temple. She had visited the Sky Temple before but only to sight see but never in a million years would she have known that a gem artifact this powerful was hidden deep within the temple. She had only heard the tale of Apollo's Light yesterday from one of the local youths who wanted to clarify a story she had read in a book she was reading due to the fact that there gems involved. Usually Amber would ignore such nonsense about myths and gods but when it came to anything that involved the gems she knew their had to be some truth behind it. She wanted to know more.
She requested the book that the young human had used so Amber could investigate further into this. About half way through the book she had found that if a gem wanted to acquire Apollo's light that they would be tested to see if they are worthy to wield this artifact. There were four test that a gem must complete to be granted the artifact. The test ran a followed; Courage, Knowlegde, Heart, and Sacrifice. This made Amber a little worried about what her biggest fear was but she had already made up her mind, she was going to retrieve this artifact for herself and the Crystal Gems. If the tale was true and this artifact had the ability to heal then this would be a great advantage in future battles. She needed to retrieve this before the Homeworld Gems get word of it.
Amber had stopped at the entrance of the Sky Temple taking in the old cracked stone littered with vegetation. She was shocked to realize that she had never thought of going inside the temple before only to admire it's surrounding areas. She took a deep breath before stepping into the temple, she jumped at the sudden loud crash behind her. She turned to see that the door had sealed itself shut, trapping her inside. "So there's no turning back then." She said to herself as wandered deeper into the temple; Waiting for the first test to begin.
