Toppled machines as far as the eye could see, the earth pockmarked by a plethora of gem-shaped holes, and the gloomy haze of silence were all that remained in the kindergarten. Onyx liked to come here to collect his thoughts and let his guard down because of everything that this ground stood for. Each machine was a reminder of what gems did to the planets they inhabited, every hole a sight of the raping of Earth, and the gloomy haze was a promise of what was to come to the primitive green planet. The thought sent a shudder down the grey-skinned gem's spine.
Seated comfortably atop the canyon wall, Onyx could see nearly every corner of the overcast kindergarten. The parts he couldn't see, he could feel as an extension of himself. Not a single sign of life could be found in the monochrome crag, so Onyx felt at ease here. Being already infected by The Corruption by his own choice, there was nothing for him to fear in the rumors about the disease starting here, he just enjoyed the quiet. Salvaging old gem tech from the massive, fallen machinery was also a benefit of hanging out here.
Onyx watched as a stone hand rifled through parts far below, slowly carrying them up the steep cliff when something of interest was found. He'd closely inspect the part and keep it if it was at all helpful, but more often than not he'd crush it with the massive stone appendage and drop it carelessly back into the canyon below. He had noticed that he was amassing quite a bit of trash underneath him, but Onyx didn't care about that. A little littering wasn't going to kill this dead ground anymore.
