The black gem yawned, but smiled at Fluorite. "Unfortunately, the blaming game. Can't have Variscite here destroy our leader's fountain."
"Though, if you think you can both keep it under control, I guess you two could have a spar around here." he said. "We can't have a battle royale; that would get out of hand quickly. A one on one should be easy to manage though, provided you guys control yourselves."
"Yo Chalk! Get over here and tell me how everything has been? Have you been destroying more ancient temples of our dear Gem Culture?" He said, referring to their second spar; Chalk had gotten a bit too excited and ended up further destroying the gem training site. It was mostly in a joking manner, though; Carbonado himself was responsible for the damaging of a few important places.
Pulling himself from the fountian, Variscite drops onto the ground with a thud as he laid on the ground for a moment, "I disagree with that statement good sir! How are you going to say I wou- yeah never mind I see your point..." The tan Gem did use a rather large ball and chain flail type weapon... that was also a bomb when he wanted it to be. Pulling himself up, pushing himself up from the ground with his arms, "We could do like... hand to hand? Yeah?"
The tan skinned Gem held up both fists in a joking manner, "With feet too... know Carbonado cant fight without throwing his foot into someones mouth." He said but was ready for the dark Gem to throw a kick at any point after that, Variscite knew Carbonados kicks were no joke. "Long as we keep it calm and stable... I dont think we will destroy anything... who wants to go first?" He asked looking between Carbonado and Fluorite holding an almost silly grin across his face.
((Rutile messaged me she has left the thread and I was granted permission to just post away))
Fluorite tilted his head as he comprehended himself to 'keep it under control' by Carbonado. No battle royale, so nothing too intense and not all of us. It'd be easy to control myself. "Fluorite wins at the blame game,' he announced, still pointing at Variscite and smiling. He watched the tan gem climb from the fountain and listened to his side of the argument. "Hand to hand. Perfect! Be warned, though..." The purple gem stayed quiet, bringing his hands together as he prepared himself while Variscite continued to talk. "I will be going first and nothing is getting destroyed... except you," he giggled.
With the exciting laughter from Fluorite, his gems flashed a dark purple hue. His solid form 'exploded' into a deep violet mist along with a clone to substitute his position. "You lost..." They both said in unison, the clone quickly rising to its feet and preparing for combat. As for the Fluorite himself (the gas), he moved itself into the air, hovering over them as he observed.
Carbonado snorted, an uncharacteristical smirk tugging at the corner of his lip as he crossed his leg over the other. "No. Carbonado definitely won the blaming game. We can both agree that Variscite lost, though." He snickered.
The spar started, and while the black gem wouldn't have immediately called it Variscite's lost, he could agree that getting the first move gave his opponent the edge. Now... how would his friend deal with his now two opponents?
Variscite smiled holding his hands behind his back as they two Gems spoke and even thought he had already lost, the mist was indeed a cool trick, so was the clone thing too, "Hm... this is the down side of my ability not really good for combat..." He mumbled as Fluorite looked ready to fight... well his clone anyways. The tan skinned Gem figured if he moved fast enough to only have to deal with the clone that the fight would be made slightly easier.
Now with a plan in mind Variscite holds the grin on his face as he pulls his hoodie off quickly and throwing it towards the clone, then jumping right behind it leaning into a strong punch with his right arm aiming to where he hoped the clones face was, since it was just a clone he really put some force behind his punch feeling like he wont have to worry about hurting Fluorite... he hoped.
Fluorite enjoyed the thrill of excitement that struck him in the spar. He must not know how this works, tsk tsk. The purple cloud, Fluorite, watched Variscite's movement and plan of attack. Without hesitation, he commanded the clone to raise his biceps and lean toward Variscite, as if reducing the impact. As a powerful punch landed on the clone, it didn't stop it, only slightly recoiling from the blow before reaching it's right arm to counter-attack with a punch to Variscite. This would aim for Variscite's stomach if available.
Fluorite above giggled, still circling around. He slightly descends to keep his vision Variscite's side of the battle. Keep vision on him to predict and react accordingly. As long as you're in this state, you're safe.
The black gem watched with a somewhat interested expression on his face, leaning back on his arm whilst Variscite and Fluorite's supposed clone exchanged blows with one another. Interestingly enough, the clone seemed to have no problem blocking the tan gem's attack, even after his vision had been impeded by Variscite's hoodie. The black gem's legs kicked gently under him as he analyzed the spar's surroundings. A thick violet mist surrounded the area, most of it above the combat zone. Fluorite had burst into mist before summoning the clone, Carbonado assumed so that he would not have to fight himself. His experiences with Fuscite, however, told him that it would have been better to actually attack as a pair. Something was weird here.
Variscite felt good about his first stright at first until he realized it was blocked, "How did he..." He was too much into his idea of how the fight would go he didn't think about having something as important as a defense ready. Taking the hit to his stomach, making him cringe a moment but not wanting to get any distance between himself and the clone. Not taking the time to look around and put together the fact that the mist around them was watching and reading his moves.
Grunting from the punch, Variscite had one thing this other Gem didn't have... bad luck! The tan skinned Gem was so used to being hurt threw so many ways, that he had a pretty good tolorance for pain. As soon as he felt the impact from Fluorite, he grabbed hold of the holo-gems arm pulling him in close and thrusting his head toward the Fluorite clones own head with some force behind it.
Fluorite's clone had landed the punch successfully, smiling a bit as it knew it landed its punch. Ooh~ Good one clone, nice nice. "Gotc-" the clone was about to speak. Fluorite was caught up in his own glory of landing the blow he had forgot that the spar was continuing on. The clone's arm is taken and pulled inward. Its head collides with Variscite's head and takes it head on. The clone didn't show any sign of pain, however, it did show aggravation.
Once taking the attack from Variscite, it responded clumsily by swinging its left hand at the tan gem's neck, lock it and drop its weight to floor. This would attempt to bring Variscite to the ground by his neck as the clone also went down.
"Time for more fun, if I'm allowed...~" the voice was more of directed to Carbonado and finished with a giggle. Fluorite, the thick purple mist, lowered himself finally to limit Variscite's vision. ((For clarification, the mist moved with the attempt to surround Variscite and create problems for him to see. Sorry if it was confusing.))
For his part, Carbonado had settled down on the edge of the fountain, seemingly staring at the sky whilst the sparring session continued. He was trying to figure out the purple gem's ability, the reason for which he had used it in the manner he had. Carbonado didn't usually think much on an opponent's skills; only enough to know how it would affect him. Granted, most of the abilities on the enemies he had faced in the past had been fairly straight forward: Energy projection, elemental manipulation, Hologram clones, plain old fisticuffs... The last one happened to be his favorite, and by far the one he excelled the most.
'Eh. All this thinking is such a pain.' He was better at doing it on the fly anyways.
"Ouch! Headbutts hurt..." Looking to see the clone... just looked mad! "Great... this thing can't feel pain? Jus-" He was cut off mid thought as he felt an arm slam into his neck hitting his gem. Upon feeling this clone make contact with his Gem he may have blanked out for a moment and forgot he was in a friendly spar. Using the momentum that the Fluorite clone was making by dragging the tall skinny Gem down to the ground, he tried to aim it so that he would bash his own head off the clones head once more!
Looks like Variscite might have found his fighting style... head first! Though weather or not he made contact with the head butt was unsure as his vision became fuzzy from something that was trying to do just that and make it hard for him to see. Once on the ground if he isn't being held down tightly by the clone he would push himself off from the clone and try to back away some feet to get whatever was making it hard for him to see away from him, waving his arms and spitting as he swares he could taste this mist getting into his mouth... didn't taste so great.
They land with a thud as both the tan gem and the clone crash to the ground. Fluorite had no idea of hitting Varscite's gem, nor even got to scan where the location was. As the clone and Varscite descended, it took Varscite's headbutt straight on before landing onto the ground. The clone would have tried to keep Varscite on the ground yet soon let him go to allow him to gain distance. The clone rose, preparing itself for its next move.
The mist left Varscite shortly before moving behind Carbonado and into the water. While out of view of Varscite, hopefully, it took form of Fluorite again. He had to return to his normal state and lightly moved his head to rest on the black gem's back, breathing heavily. He had been exhausted for staying in the gaseous state for so long but had enough energy to maintain the clone for awhile longer. The purple gem would have positioned his sight onto the clone and Varscite, it was time to strike.
The clone broke into a dash raising a fist. He moved his arm as if going to punch Varscite except it swiftly switched battle plans and crouched to send a leg to trip Varscite!
The black gem idly noted the approaching mist as it descended upon him; rather, upon the fountain. From within the water, Fluorite's much less gaseous form emerged, making the black gem tilt a brow as he rested his forehead onto Carbonado's back.
"You know, a spar is a way to test your limits in a non lethal environment." Commented the black gem, "Should you really be taking a break over here? You won't get many chances to do that in a real fight." He pointed out in a conversational manner, his eyes moving back to the fight.
Variscite seemed intent on not summoning his weapon; Carbonado couldn't see why though. So long as he didn't make it blow up, he should have been fine, the black gem thought.
Variscite leaned over once the mist was gone from his head, letting him see easy now. He took a moment to look around to where the mist had done to, but he had little time as he saw the clone getting back up, "Hmm... when I hit the clone, do you feel it Fluorite?" He asked looking right at the clone, locking eyes with it. This was the only reason why had had not pulled out his weapon, he didnt want to bust up the clone that bad if it was going to hurt the Gem.
Plus! Fluorite hadn't pulled out a weapon so the tan skinned Gem figured he wouldn't pull out his own out of respect for the Gem. As his gaze was locked onto the clone as it began to charge at him, for a moment he didn't move as he was watching the clones movement closely. Running with an arm cocked back to stright could be a trick... or thinking that it is a trick might be the trick?
"Ugh forget it!" He leaped forward quickly aiming to go punch for punch, NOW! What had happen was... not what Variscite wanted. When the clone ducked down and tried to trip the tall Gem, of course he managed to trip him, Variscite rolls along the ground (After smacking his head into the ground first) a few feet away from the clone before pulling himself up quickly dusting himself off before almost stumbling a moment, "My turn!" He was right back at it again and charged towards the clone with one idea in his thick head.
"Drop kick..." once close enough he would leap up into the air and lifting up both legs aiming to give both of his feet into the clones face.
Fluorite was glad to have a small break from the spar, but had to keep focus on the battle. He tilted his head lightly has he heard Carbonado spoke. He had a good point, something to take into consideration. Fluorite should take this a training session and not some foolishness, yet an idea had popped into his head. "'I'm' not taking a break." He giggled, winking at the black gem as he gestured to his clone.
He had the clone respond to the tan gem, "Clone? We are all one unit," the clone winked at him, yet still continuing onward for its attack. Fluorite examined them from his location with Carbonado, he smiled that his plan actually worked and successfully hit Varscite.
Fluorite gripped onto Carbonado tightly out of reaction as his next battle strategy came. As Varscite collected himself, the clone's body somewhat faded. It ran at Varscite before attempting to poof into a cloud of violet mist! His intentions was to have Varscite's kick fail.
