Do not discuss spoilers about new episodes within the Cbox until at least a week after the episode has aired, if you wish to discuss spoilers simply make a thread about it (Keep the title spoiler free aswell).
Steven Universe is abundantly popular and we have a relatively strong wave of new members that ride in. But many seem to have very little direction of where to go once they've created an account, so perhaps the site would benefit from a mentoring program?
there are plenty of ways to set one up, but the easiest way I've personally seen it done is moderators create a thread explaining the newbie program and then experienced members fill out a mentor skeleton and paste it in the thread. From there, new members may choose one of the mentors to go to for guidance and suggestions. That newbie simply PMs the mentor in mind and asks if they'd mind taking on a newbie for a few weeks and teaching them the ropes.
Not only would that filter out some of the questions moderators get (often in misc. threads) as well as educates the new members and helps tighten the community, as aforementioned new members will already have socialized with someone comfortable on the site who can introduce them to others! It's a great way of team building and tidying the site simultaneously.
Of course, to become a mentor its advised that mods are create mentor standards, like must have been a member for [x] amount of time, or must have at least one approved character, must have less than [x] site warnings, etc. Basically just a way to ensure newbies will be entrusted to mentors who arent also newbies.
This sounds like a good idea from a newbie's perspective. There is already so much to this site that it can be quite overwhelming, so having an experienced player be able to explain and guide someone through the basics helps to ease the new player without getting frequently asked questions or an abundance of threads all asking the same questions

I rather enjoy the idea of helping out someone who is still picking up either the RP half or the SU half. Iv been RPing threw mostly MMOs and a few chat sites over the corse of like... 10 or so years. (Stars im old O.o) First starting out (First RP was really in SWG Star Wars Galaxies!) in MMOs the RP side of it is VERY different then the RP we know in a forum style. Far more about the quality of the small posting we would make then compred to here where it is all about how long and accurate you can make it.
I didn't even know what RP was, I was a bounty hunter named "Dizzydude18" yeah super cool name right? Anyways... I met a Transdoshan Hunter who helped me with a quest and shortly after he was telling me about role play and making a story... he held my hand threw the whole deal! At lest like 2 months of him helping me make my toon fit for RP and teaching me things I still follow now. So being able to help someone here on this site would only make me happy! Its like... paying it forward!
Yeah! There are an abundance of sites and games as well as more life relevant situations (hosts, tech supports and that jazz) that incorporate a guided tutorial or assign someone knowledgeable to answer any questions. Steven Universe is huge and so is rp, each with a lot to take in for someone unfamiliar, so having a mentor that can be asked for assistance or advice like a lot of us had, whether assigned or naturally clung to (bless my yanyan for teaching me how to play terra.)
I wanna stress though that mentor newbie system is not to delve into chaos. :/ some newbies can get poor first impressions from other members based on what is told of them so let's keep this a community positive, constructive program! ovo

i don't know if an official imitative has been put in place yet or not, but Ive received some really great help and mentoring fro a few Gems on the forum here. So that's come a long way to helping me get my gravity connectors wet in the RP here. So thanks :3
I hope this isn't too late ... But I would suggest a thread to be made for this in the info and rules section. That way individuals looking for more help can go there to see the list of available mentors. On the thread it self people can sign up the be a mentor or sign up for mentoring. I have seen this format on some other forums. So a newbie can go in, make a reply with a template to sign up for mentoring and an available mentor will "adopt" them. Of course Mentors would need to be accepted. I am new myself so would not know a good way to tell if they will be efficient or not. Perhaps how long they have been a member, how many posts they have made and post quality?
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption" is being treated like a virus due to lack of info about it on the show.
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
