It had been three days since the incident with Varis, that Crystal Gem. Yellow Amber wasn't surprised it took this long to heal his wounds and find the grit to resurface after such a vicious beating, he wasn't certain about how he could feasibly beat a crystal gem if they were all on the same level as Varis was, but he had to go through with his work, and see it through with his iron will and guile. He had no intention of walking out of this a failure.
Yellow Amber decided to first investigate the docks, since the town was too crowded, if another fight broke out there, he wasn't sure if he could avoid casualties like he barely able to last time. There were no concerns from the higher ups about a few humans winding up dead, but it simply felt dishonorable on Yellow Amber's part to let some humans die, being as defenseless against homeworld's finest, as they are. His eyes scanned the town from afar, then moved his focus to the docks he stood on.
A small blue gem walked across the boardwalk, keeping his eyes on the ocean's horizon. With his eyesight he could see incredibly far when he tries to, he spotted a group of dolphins jumping in and out of the water far before the horizon. Sometimes he wished the planet wasn't so round so he could see farther.
While he was distracted he managed to walk straight into a pole, leaving him flat on his back for a good few seconds as he exclaimed the classic, "Ow..." He stood back up, rubbing his head and looking around. He was pretty close to the docks now, though all he could see were the fleet of ships in the harbor. As much as he liked humans, their stuff was always getting in the way of his line of sight.
He shrugged, remembering the mess that is the larger human cities with skyscrapers. Could be worse, he thought. He made his way down to the dock, oblivious of the other gem nearby. Instead, he went to the edge of one of the walkways and sat down, kicking his feet in the water.
The gem looked down at the water and stopped kicking. He strained his eyes as he tried to peer deeper into the ocean. It always bothered him that he couldn't see very far through the oceans water, so he practice whenever he could to hone his skill. As the human saying goes, practice makes perfect.
Yellow Amber spotted Agate right off the bat the and a smile spread on his face, he began to stalk the blue short stack over an edge. A blue agate, not a common sight, even on Homeworld, so Yellow Amber was slightly surprised to see one. He was taught as a scout how to spot out certain gems from one another, but he's only come across a hand full of Blue Agates. Yellow Amber never saw one, himself. But he was aware of the damage one could do if left unchecked, he moseyed on over to Agate, and sat next to him, "Howdy, there." He says with a tip of his hat, "I'm Yellow Amber, it's mighty good to see fellow gem around these parts." He said with a grin.

"Ho-hohoho Ho-ho-ho-ho, Ho-hohoho Ho-ho-ho-ho, Ho-hohoho Ho-ho-ho-ho, Ho-hohoho Ho-ho-ho-hoooo!" this laugh echoed out threw most of the docks in an almost soothing tone... or really bothersome... "Gather up all of the gems, It’s time to ship out 'round the bend, Space-wind blows, To where? Who knows? The waves will be our guide!" the distorted voice was hard to pin point, though the gem was waltzing threw the rift plane down one of the docks.
"O’er across the star’s up high, Rays of sunshine far and wide. Birds they sing, Of cheerful things, In circles passing by!" The song kept on being sung by the disembodied voice, "Bid farewell to our dear home, Say so long to the port, Sing a song, It won’t be long, Before we’re casting......." The lovely tune began to fade as a few figures came into Mr. O sight.
"Is that...." Enters Opalites mind as his blazing white eyes lock onto the gem that looked like a friend he knew, quickly making his way to where he was standing behind the two sitting gems before he shifts into the material plane, "Hello lovelies!" standing in a simple pose with his cane spinning around his hand.
Agate may have excellent eyesight, but that often distracts his other senses. So, when the other gem stepped next to him and spoke he was a little less than prepared. "Wh- AH!" While turning suddenly to face the voice he forgot he was sitting with his legs over the ledge, so he went straight into the water with a big splash.
He surfaced after a few seconds, lifting himself back into the dock, "Sorry, wasn't expecting someone..." He looked them up and down and realized they were a gem as well. "... to sneak up on me like that. I'm Agate, Blue Agate Quartz specifically. Nice to meet you too!" As usual Agate trusted this gem totally and gave a big smile. "How are-" he was cut off as a familiar gem was heard.
The tall gem, towering over Agate, stepped out of his rift and Agate's smile grew even wider. It had been a long time since meeting this gem, but still he remembered their encounter. Perhaps on purpose or on accident he ignored the time he shattered a corrupted gem with his help.
Agate rushed forward and gave him a big hug, oblivious to his nontouching rule, "Opalite, it's been so long!" He stepped back and looked at him, almost straining his neck to see his face. It didn't seem like he's changed much, though he supposed it hadn't been long in gem time. "I've got so much to talk about! I met a bunch of friends and I even learned how to do thi-" he reached behind his back to his gem and was about to summon his weapon when he realized he was being rude.
He gestures to the other gem, "Oh, sorry. This is Yellow Amber, we just met actually." He stood there, beaming at the two of them. Nothing like good friends, right...?
Yellow Amber shielded himself from any water that would've hit him, he wasn't fond of how wet Earth was, it was slightly sickening, "It's all right as rain, kiddo." He told Agate, "Just saw a fellow gem was about and figured I'd make it my duty to say 'howdy'." He told Agate, adjusting his coat, "Now anyways, I've-" Yellow Amber was cut off by the entrance of Mr. O. "Well, well, well..." He muttered to himself quietly.
Yellow Amber smiled, "Actually, I believe me an' this here Opalite've met before." Yellow Amber said, standing up. Mr. O was here, Yellow Amber couldn't fathom a guess as to why, but if he's here then that means the high-up's are taking this mission seriously. "Been a while, partner." He said with his head cocked back, slightly. His eyes locked onto Mr. O's.

Twitching slightly as Agate hugs him, he sighed softly and gave the young pebble a pat on his head a few times, "Why yes it has! Far too long darling!" He was rather happy to be seeing this gem again... though he was rather eager to see him summon his weapon. Leaning onto his cane a bit more only to be re-introduced to Yellow Amber, he had indeed spoke with them gem before and it had been some times since they last saw each other.
"Indeed it has! I can see your style has changed very little! Oh-hohohoho!" Of course he meant no disrespect to Yellow but his tone of voice can be pretty misleading at times. I did remember this Yellow a bit more now... he was a very promising scout for White Diamond, "This gem." Mr. O spoke pointing his cane towards Yellow, "Is a VERY talent member of Homeworld Agate! ALMOST as great as myself!" He said while his large, blazing white eyes never turned from Yellows, come to think of it Mr. O never blinks.
So, another gem from homeworld. Interesting... And they knew each other. Opalite had indeed been on his quest for information. Or perhaps most homeworld gems were friends? His information on them was less than thorough, all he really knew was that they were from a different planet. Most of them seemed alright, for what few he'd met. In fact, the only people to strike him as odd were those... things long ago in the kindergarden. They certainly weren't a gem or human...
Returning his attention, as he got distracted as usual, he stepped forward again and turned to Opalite, "Well a friend of yours is a friend of mine. Not to be rude but... since you already know each other... I want to show you what I can do!" He was beaming, visibly excited to finally be able to show off.
He ran behind them, creating some space for him to move. He posed with his legs wide and plucked a rusty rapier from his belt. Agate swung it a few times in big, theatrical swings that'd be incredibly ineffective in a real combat scenario. He finished by stabbing it into the wood of the dock and bending down, hand over his back. His gem glowed bright as he pulled a simple recurve bow from his gem and stood up, striking another pose.
Agate jumped backwards and pulled on the string of his weapon, bright blue arrows materialized and were pulled back halfway, as far as Agate managed to pull it. He lifted the bow and shot into the air, three arrows flying upward until they splashed into the ocean in front of them all.
Once the display finished he gave a quick bow and walked back over to them, recollecting his rapier and smiling wide, bow still in hand.
"It's been some time, Mr. O, since we crossed pathes, we haven't seen each other since my previous debriefing on Homeworld, which had to have been 200 hundreds years ago, was it?" Yellow Amber said, cocking his hat to the side a bit, "I'm an okay marksman, but Mr. O earned his rank through superior skill when it came down to diplomacy and all that wordy malarkey." He explained to Agate, adjusting his coat a tad bit.
Yellow Amber grinned, clapping his heads, "Nyo-h'oh, yer pretty good, kiddo." He complemented Agate whilst giving a small applauds for the display, part him wanted to show off his gunplay skills. But he decided to let the kid have his moment, "Homeworld could used a skilled swordsman like yerself." He told Agate.

"Ooooh yes! That was the same debriefing..." His voices died down slowly as he remembered Agate was here... he didn't want the young Gem to know too much of his past. The was of course a debriefing where O had almost shattered a Pearl for bumping into him. "I'm an okay marksman, but Mr. O earned his rank through superior skill when it came down to diplomacy and all that wordy malarkey." "While I DO have a way of captivating an audience darling!" He said bowing slightly with his free hand behind his back, his hat stayed in place. Floating in the air until his head returned to under his hat.
"... I want to show you what I can do!" When Mr. O heard this, as if his face could light up any more, his smile only grew brighter as he watched Agate show off his new skill. Joining Yellow as he clapped along with him, "A bow?! How wonderful sweetheart! This is perfect! Who better to give you a few tips with how to use that other then Yellow here?!" He calls out making this motion with his arms as if presenting Yellow Amber to Agate. Opalite knew Yellow couldn't teach him alot of things but hopefuly he could show him a trick or two.
At this point Agate's eyes were practicaly glowing, he received compliment from two real homeworld agents. And Opalite was a Grand Inquisitor! He had no idea what that meant but... Grand sounds important! "You could teach me?" The idea of a real gem teaching him was like a dream, so far he had to learn everything on his own. In fact, his fighting style is mostly from movies he's seen and wouldn't be very deadly in a fight.
Agate was stopping just short of jumping up and down in place, "Oh please show me something. I want to be able to hit and apple off someone's head or... or cut my initials into someone's shirt!" He imagined all the possibilities, he could be like a action hero!
Yellow Amber chuckled, "Woah there, I hate to be the one who breaks it to you, but it doesn' work like it does in those movin' pictures the humans call entertainment." With a twist of his elbow and flick of his wrist, a gun had magically glowed into his hand, "Shootin' an apple of some feller's head is dandy practice an' all, but it's much better to use a movin' target." A few seagulls were flying by, Yellow Amber readied his finger and pointed his gun at them, "It's about knowing when and where to shoot. Most would aim for the path a target takes, and hopes the two intervene, but that's in cases of extreme distances between a target and his attacker." He fires his gun once, "However... I cheat a little when it comes down to the aim-game." Within a second, all the seagull were down, "I control the trajectory of not only my bullets, but any airborne object with a trajectory with extensive mental focus." He explains to Agate, fizzling his gun back into his palm's gem.

Mr. O knew Yellow was a more combat style gem, O had his tricks but when it came to showing Agate how to fight he would have honestly been an awful teacher. "Moving pictures?" O had yet to see a TV or anything of the like so this confused him slightly, a puzzled looked twisted itself across his face. He was burning to ask more about this but didn't want to stop any kind of lesson that Yellow was going to do.
Clapping his hands together a few times after seeing Yellow take out a few birds with a single shot, "How neat! Agate! FUTURE SNIPER SCOUT OF HOMEWORLD! It will be marvelous darling!" Opalites eyes were shining even brighter then normal, at this point he was just looking up into the sky with his normal grin as he was pretty much in his own little world again picturing the future of his young friend.
Agate looked a little bummed out when he was told movies weren't real but his expression picked back up when he saw Yellow shoot down the birds all at once. Maybe there was still some theatrical skill to fighting.
"Ok, moving target. Got it!" He turned his attention to the area around him. Boats, no can't risk hitting someone. People, a big no. Some dogs, again no. Then an idea popped into his head. He turned towards the water and focused his sight. Just below the surface he could spot a school of fish.
He braced himself and pulled his bow back and a single thin arrow formed. Unlike before this arrow was almost needle thin with a flat arrowhead. Excellent for cutting through water. After a moment of adjusting he released the arrow and peered into the water again.
"Huh. I never thought about retrieving it..." He looked around briefly, "Uh, hold on." His bow dissipated and he dived into the water, disappearing for a short while. After a couple minutes he resurfaced and pulled himself back up.
"So, how'd I do?" He held up a dead fish with a small hole through its eyes. His face didn't show that much pride for once, "I'm not sure that was my best... can I try again?" Already his eyes scanned the area.
Yellow Amber watched and grinned, "As it stands, you're pretty good." He tells Agate pointing to fingers at Agate, he could tell the kid was disappointed by his try. Perhaps Yellow Amber could help with that one, "Hm, perhaps if you were shootin' at something that could provide more of a challenge..." He grins, sighs a faint chuckle as a spinning ball materializes into his left hand, "Here's the new challenge, kiddo." He tells Agate, tossing his ball into the air, he corkscrews around with it's trajectory at a rather high speed, "How's about you try an' shoot my ball off it's course of flight?" He asked Agate with a grin, this wouldn't be easy. But judging by where his skills are honed at now, Yellow Amber was certain Agate had what it takes to beat this challenge.
