Agate eyed Fuscite as he walked up, giving Carbide some further encouragement. At least Fuscite was better with his words than he was. Which was funny, considering he seemed to be translating whatever he said from some other language or dialect. He watched as Carbide turned around, looking a lot more like herself. Her story on her travels amazed him, to see 400 different planets... Were they all like Earth? Was there other life forms like Humans out there? He left his questions for later, looking back up to meet Carbide's eyes. He gave her a grin, glad they had each other's backs. He wasn't a fan of fighting, but if push came to shove Carbide was one of the few gems he'd happily fight to protect. "Well, if you're feeling up to it maybe we help our green friend here 'scout' the planet? It'll be like we're on a mission together!" He more or less addressed to question to both of them, wondering if Fuscite even wanted help getting around.

Fuscite listened as the rugged gem spoke. 437 planets. Nothing compared to what Fuscite had explored, but it was something. More than the blue gem, whom Fuscite guessed hadn't even left this planet, let alone the system they were all in. He chuckled slightly at the blue gem's amazement at 437 planets. He looked at his suit, and began fixing a dent in the armor. It was a relatively small dent, but a dent nonetheless. The old explorer looked back up when Agate began talking, this time asking a question. Scout the planet together. Scout the planet together? Fuscite hadn't done anything like that since... He redirected that train of thought before it could pull into the station. Instead, Fuscite focused on these two odd gems, answering the blue gem's question with a slow, affirmative nod; a shrug of the shoulders followed shortly after.

Carbide chuckles and accosts Agate's hair with a fist, mussing it up slightliy, her little melancholy meltdown passing out of the forefront of her mind. "Hmm, wel lI guess it depends if our Fuscite is up to it... what do you think old timer *she grins* care to take a wander with us two once you get your suit back ship shape?"
Her strides carriy her over to where the ancient gem crouches, coaxing a subtle impression out of one of his armor plates. "Maybe we should let him lead, hm Agate? Perhaps we can soak up a new technique or two hmm?"
Carbide ponders which direction to head.. shes heard of a few other gem-built structures on the continent, some accessable by foot, others by warp pad, Although there was still osme parts of the derelict kindergarten she had not yet seen, althuogh this place had proven a hot bed of corrupt gem activity in recent months, to say the least. "Have you any perticular perogative Fuscite? And what all do you feel up for Agate, could be daaaaangerous, hehe!" She leans in a bit closer, eyeing his workmanship while she asks the question. Watching field repairs always seemed ot facinate her. She didnt mean to spook Agate at all, she would do her best to keep him safe.
Agate chuckled quickly fixing his hair, looking back up to see Fuscite fixing his armor and Carbide admiring his handiwork. He walked up behind the two of them and inspected the odd suit, he'd never seen a gem have a piece of clothing that didn't poof with their gem. Except for human pieces of clothing. Agate shrugged at Carbide's initial question, "Sure, I don't mind. As a suggestion maybe we hunt down whatever threw him like that? I'm not one to pick fights, but if it's a danger to other gems we might want to remove it." He really didn't fancy another fight, seeing as the last one was a bit close, but if there was a dangerous corrupt gem going around it might be best to remove it. Or perhaps Fuscite has some other goal to complete. Either way, it'd be his lead.

Fuscite, having finished undoing the dent in his armor, looked up to see the rugged gem observing him. He nodded slowly at her question, simply stating,"Exploration 'till expiration." He rose and looked at the blue gem. And simply shrugged. "I suggest... We..."Fuscite paused for several seconds."Swap stories of... Our travels?" Perhaps, the old gem thought, the rugged gem had been to a planet he had previously scouted. Maybe she wasn't as green as he thought. Either way, the blue gem would be interested, and so would the rugged gem. Fuscite didn't want her to end up like his brothers. Unlike him, the rugged gem seemed to return to Homeworld often. But a question popped up in his head." Carbide... What are the specifications... Of your mission?" He blurted out.

Carbide perks back up, hearing Fuscite drop the question on her lap so abruptly.."Hmm well, My original mission was to operate solo most of the time, and travel to planets that home world had detected and done preliminary scans of via long range sensors. So I suppose you could boil down my mission back then, as being perform advance recon and scouting of planetary features and lifeforms, in order to confirm or disprove a planet's viability for colony or large scale Kindergartening efforts, then to report back to my mission handler, either by communicator, or by returning to home world. What about you? Did you ever report your findings over the years back to home world, or have you kind of just... kept going the whole time?"
She pauses a moment, reaching across herself and scratching her other arm, suddenly somewhat self conscious. How would the ancient gem react to the idea of a gem no longer directly serving home world, or operating in a capacity not directly in accordance to their original mission and purpose? "I suppose It is worth mentioning that I am no longer directly in the employ of the Home world diamond authorities.. that period of time came to an end approximately 900 standard years ago, call it differences of professional opinion and conduct. Apparently I was made a little TOO self sufficient for their liking I determine my own missions and objectives now, without the input of the Diamonds."
Meanwhile, Aquamarine was becoming quite bored as she observed the three Gems. How long would it take for them to leave?! Aqua knew that she should keep listening, to find out more about Gems and Home World, but it was tedious to stay crouched behind that rock. She longed for something interesting to happen, anything at all... SCREEECH!!! Aqua jumped up, turning around to see a Corrupted Gem racing towards her. It was a frightening one, with odd tendrils wielding sharp barbs, and a circular mouth that opened to reveal rows of needle-sharp teeth. "This wasn't what I meant!" Aqua wailed. She wanted something to happen, but a monster attack?! Seriously?! Aqua had no choice but to run. As she sped towards the small group of Gems, she cried out, "HELP MEEE!!!"
Agate nodded as he listened to Carbide's explanation of how her old occupation worked, up until the part about no longer serving Homeworld. He cracked a smile when she said that, he really couldn't imagine her as a obedient little soldier. She was far too... independent to be anything close to subservient. Though that's what made her great, she thought for herself. He was curious about her comment on deciding her own missions though, he'd never actually thought about what goals she might have. If she was on some sort of mission, be it for herself or otherwise. He mentally shrugged, it wasn't very likely. He was about to speak up when he heard a gem screaming just a short distance away, followed by the same gem running at full speed right at them. His initial confusion was quickly answered when a corrupt gem crawled over from the same direction.
It was a horrible looking thing, as they all were, with its tendrils lashing out at the ground around it as it moved. It almost looked like a worm, but the spiked mouth and tendrils, and was barreling towards the group. He hesitated, a little unsure how to act, but eventually instinct kicked as he reached back to his gem and summoned forth his bow. He bent down on his knee and began firing a volley of arrows at the creature. There didn't appear to be any eyes or other obvious weak points for him to aim at so he hoped to just deal damage by hitting it as much as possible. He had yet to see its gem, but it had to be on it somewhere. He spoke up to the group, "A little help here!" he was unsure if he would help fight, but he had to make sure, "If you find its gem Fuscite, be careful not to hit it! Just poof it." He stayed behind the two of them, he could fire his bow well enough but in up close combat he was far less skilled.

The old gem just stood there quietly for several seconds, looking at the rugged gem. He chuckled slightly to himself, the began laughing out loud. He just stood there, looking up and laughing. He took several seconds to compose himself before looking back at the rugged gem. "We broadcasted our findings to Homeworld via our ships' comms systems. We were meant to explore until death. Return wasn't in our vocabulary." He started laughing again before falling to his knees, becoming quiet once again. "And die we did. There were thousands... Millions of me made. I'm just a relic of a bygone era, a lone survivor." He lowered his head. "I saw them die. My brothers, shattering, all of them but me. Fate is a cruel mistress." He looked back up at the rugged gem, who was, in essence, his replacement. "You are my replacement,Carbide. I care not who you swear allegiance to, I will give you my knowledge so that, unlike my kind, you have a real chance of living. But... It will have a steep price. Such is the way the universe works. The things I've seen, what I've done and been dealt, will be imparted unto you. But... Before I can even begin, I must warn you: there is no returning from this. I know from personal experience." Fuscite, having finished his exposition dump, looked back down at the ground. When a new gem ran in screaming, he remained stationary, a Holo-Fuscite appearing and aiding Agate in combat.

Carbide tilts her head, watching the green explorer chuckle then smirk and then finally double over with laughter, she drew back a foot or two, being not quite sure what to make of the situation. Was it something she said? She didn't think she had made any remarks that even the eccentric old explorer would find humorous or profound..
Her expression gradually melts into one of sombre realization, as he grows quiet and speaks once more, of passing on his eons of accumulated knowledge, no less! Carbide certainly was'nt ready for such an experience, heck, she had only met this explorer barely an hour ago when he came crashing down like a veridian meteor from the sky... "Look Fuscite, I didn't mean to set off such a heavy reaction in you, and I appreciate what you're offering, but I don't think I can accept such a heavy gift all at once.. Your experiences are your own, but your legacy isn't tied solely to me simply because I was designed to carry out some of the same functions as you are, and remember, so far as I know, they stopped with One prototype, maybe there's something wrong with me. Whatever the case, if you want to teach me, one thing at a time as we go, I would be very appreciative, but please understand.. It is my individuality that got me to this point today, for better or worse, it and my freedom I value most, and I fear that if I were to take all that I think you're offering me, all at once, the gem who comes through it, won't really be me ... So if you want to share your legacy, you're going to have toooo..ooooooooooh! *she cranes her head around as she notices the small aqua coloured gem legging it past their group with a rather peeved looking corrupt on her tail*.....ulll have to excuse me! Shouldn't we deal with this??!!"
She spins about, her arm reaching back to her gem as she summons her weapon with a crackling magical HUMMMMMMM-POP! As the magical construct takes shape and settles into her grasp, the 5 foot cannon shape of her Ballistic Cudgel settles into her grip, resting along side her upraised arm like a frightful mockery of a Night Stick. The heavy scout breaks out into a dash after the Corrupt, boosting into a jump that lands her directly in its path between it and the fleeing femme gem, holding the barrel body of her weapon horizontally before her, bracing for a hard impact. The creature, not counting on a sudden obstacle, slams its head and body weight into the weapon and buckles under the clothes-line effect, the impact pushing Carbide along the ground, causing it to fracture and crumble under her boots, driving along almost to her knees before she manages to push back, lifting to expose the Corrupt's underbelly... "Agate! Arrows, in its boiler room, now!... and whoever else wants to make themselves useful, RRRGGGgggg! *she strains* don't be shy, jump on in!"
Aqua, meanwhile, is cowering in a corner, trembling in fright, but at hearing one of the Gem's call to action, she stands, swallows her fear, and manages to summon her kusarigama. She steps forward to join in, but some unseen force holds her back; her own anxiety. Aquamarine is so unsure of what to do. When she tries to approach the beast to help with bringing it down, it would flail about as one of the other Gems fought it, and Aqua steps back. She so badly wants to help, but she doesn't know how. Tears sting Aqua's eyes. She's supposed to be a strong, brave Gem! But she's only a useless coward. Grasping her chain scythe, Aquamarine forces herself not to cry. Instead, she swallows the lump in her throat, and looks up at the three Gems. "Wh-what should I do?!" She cries desperately.
Agate kept up his mostly ineffectual barrage, eyeing the hologram-Fuscite that joined the fray. It looked almost as if he was above this fighting, it made him look... impressive. He snapped his attention back as he heard the light-blue gem speak out, looking at them for direction. For a brief moment he saw a mirror image of himself, lost in the chaos of his first fight. He looked over as Carbide wrestled with the beast, opening up a weak spot. Agate pointed towards the creature's belly, "Take that sword of yours and cut that thing open!" At the same time he brought up his bow and fired a half-dozen razor sharp arrows towards the softer material of the gem. He hoped his direction would have some effect on her, he remembered his first encounter and how he got through it just barely due to a gem aiding him through it. It almost made him chuckle to think he could be anything close to a mentor.

Fuscite remained down, almost resembling a statue. The Holo-Fuscite continuously struck the creature, redirecting it's aim when a weak spot was exposed. Of course the beast deserved some measure of caution, but Fuscite was busy thinking thoughts right now. Thoughts he hadn't even thought of thinking before this point. The rugged gem, the predecessor, had a lot to learn. He thought about what he had said a few minutes prior, and her reaction. So she had accepted, but wanted the knowledge in small parts for fear of changing Well. Fuscite saw no problem with that. But no matter how she went about it, she would change. That was a certainty. Finally standing up, Fuscite turned to face the corrupted gem that was starting to annoy him now. He charges in as the hologram dissipated, performing something reminiscent of a falcon punch with the blade gauntlet.

Carbide winces on behalf of the creature as it recieves a fierce forked punch from Fuscite, the force of which seems to lift the creatures weight off her, and gives her some room to move. Between that blow, the cothslining and the shimmering blue arrows sticking out of its side, this Corrupt seemed like it was just about out of gas.
In a deft practiced move she pulls her cannon barrel back and spins it to lie along her arm, butt facing forwards, Agate would probably know whats coming next, but this might be a new one for Fuscite. Her weapon humms and clunks, the tooothed ring roatating once, shifting its Hard Light Ammo to a blank shot of pure maric propellant. She draws her arm back then forward hard in a punch with the butt of her weapon. As it nears she sets off her blank charge, the resounding boom and flash, drives the weapon like a pile driver, connecting with the creature's mouth, sending it skidding and tumbling along the ground, and poofing as it hits a cliff wall, the gem core landing in the dust with a soft thud. "BWAAAA! DEN-TAL APPOINTMENT!" She huffs and sinks to her knees a moment to recover the energy, as the dust settles. "Its all yours Agate, go get it bubble boy!"
Agate watched in awe as Carbide struck the corrupted gem with both the force of a truck and the precision of an arrow. He watched its ark as it flew across the air, straight into a wall and poofing into its gem. Already Agate was dashing ahead towards the gem, making sure to reach it before anyone or anything else could. He lowered to the ground and slid on his side, scooping the gem as he went by and bubbled it in one fluid motion. He stood himself back up and examined the gem in his bubble (a light-blue tint) while he walked back towards the rest of the gems. It seemed the new, blue gem had ran off while they were fighting leaving just the three of them. He held onto the bubble, willing to let others see it but was adamant about keeping it in his possession.
He put his hands behind his back and stretched as if he threw it out, "Man, I'm starting to think this is a normal occurrence around here." He chuckled, it was no news to anyone that this place was full of corrupt gems. Well, except maybe Fuscite since he was knew to the planet. His mind shifted over from combat back to their conversation, happy Carbide was at least a little hesitant to slide back into her old ways. Deep down he had a negative outlook on Homeworld that was growing the more he learned about them. He looked up, the sun was going down rapidly. He had hoped to go into town but it was starting to grow late. Perhaps he would just head back home. Or perhaps check out one of the many gem locations he had heard about. "It's getting late, why don't we wrap up this party and perhaps we'll run into each other again. It's a small world after all." He grinned, somehow he knew they'd all find each other at some point. Gems had a knack for bumping into others.
Melody: how are you doing? Are you going to make a character in here?

This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. The choice is yours for how it is shaped on the Original Steven Universe Roleplay Site.
Orginal Opening Plot Here Thread That Changed Everything
Differances Between the Roleplay and the Show
*Thanks to Rose Quartz' message the Gems on Earth are entirely aware that the Homeworld Gems intend to wipe out the human race.
*The "corruption"'s Origin is still unknown, some suspect it was a viral infection, other claim it was a Diamond experiment gone awry and other suspect the organics were behind it. Regardless no one seem to have a proper answer about what it was and why its only isolated to Earth
*Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
