Zircon sat down on an old, beached boat. It had rusted quite a lot over how long it had been here. He stared at the setting sun. "For such a war torn planet.. It has some pretty views." He said quietly. He looked at the Yellow Diamond on his chest, and then back up at the sunlight. "Well. Guess I really am stuck on Earth.. At least it's a better then being stuck on a moon or something.." He sat there for a while, before wondering "I wonder how this boat even got here.." He said. He teleported to the top of the boat, and jumped inside of it. His gem projected light, like a flashlight. He looked around, his gem light scanning over a few things before he sat down. He leaned against the wall and looked around some more, bored.
The docks of Beach City were a place that Spinel went rarely. He feared the ocean, and despised the smell of seawater, but today he wanted to face that fear. It would be best to stay on man-made platforms when dealing with this, as they are what he's used to. As he approached the docks, he noticed a quick flash of blue in the corner of his eye, and turned to see the blue Gem he took as an apprentice. Well, less of an apprentice and more of a lackey. He smiled, and decided he would need the Gem's service shortly.
Walking across the docks, he jumped up onto the boat the blue Gem was on, entering the same way Zircon did. Walking through the boat, he looked around. "Zircon, I have need of you." He said aloud, trying to attract the Gem's attention. "There's something I need you to do."
Zircon was startled at the sudden voice as he was looking around absent-mindlessly. His gem light flickered off, before he stood up and looked at Spinel. He turned his light on again, and looked at Spinel in the eyes. The darkness made his visor look much darker then it was, and made it hard to see his eyes. His hair was a little more frayed then last time, the same with his uniform.
"Uh... Alright.." He said, looking around the ship one more time. He stood, ready to follow Spinel to wherever he needed Zircon. Not only was his visor darker, but so were the rest of the colors on him, some seeming almost black due to their already dark color, and others looking navy, and etc.
With the blue Gem popping up suddenly, Spinel found himself slightly startled, the boat being in water not helping at all. "Uh... Alright.." "Very good." Spinel said, smiling at Zircon. He then begun to chuckle, seeing the blue Gem as more of a black color than a blue one due to the shadows. "Black suits you." He joked. "Now then, onto more pressing matters." Spinel begun.
"If you are going to be my apprentice, I want to know exactly what you can do. So then, tell me. Have you ever had any experience with battle tactics, strategies, et cetera? Along a similar note, just tell me what you can do." Spinel squinted at the small figure in front of him. Sure, the Gem had limb enhancers, but that seemed to be all that he was good for. Maybe, if he was lucky, he would be proven wrong.
"Well, I'm quite good with a sword, I have lots of experience with technplogy. Although I don't have experience with tactics due to the fact that Zircons, such as me, were made as technicians, not warriors." He looked at his limb enhancers , and then back at Spinel. "Though, I suppose I could easily learn battle tactics through Homeworld archives and the human 'libraries'" He said quickly and nonchalanty.
"Other than that, I obviously have my limb enhancers, and I have the ability to push my self into the sister dimension for about a millisecond and appear where I desire to appear within a 10 'foot' radius. Also known as teleportation. Atleast that's how Opalite explained it.." He waited for a reply from Spinel, his visor still appearing dark enough to mask his eyes.
'This is getting me nowhere.' Thought Spinel, as he realized he could get all the answers he wanted and more with a simple action. "Very well, I suppose. Now, let's talk about what you can do as a Gem, something we all can do." He begun pacing. "Do you know how to bubble, shapeshift, or fuse?" Spinel pretended to be in contemplation for a moment. "Maybe we should try fusion. It would be very beneficial for the both of us. I get all the answers I want, and we would be practicing for whenever the need to fuse arrives. I say it's a win-win."
Spinel stopped pacing. "Of course, you would get to peer into my mind as well, something that you may not enjoy, but it's a price you would have to be willing to pay to gain the knowledge I can give you. What do you say?" He asked, holding his hand out to the short blue Gem.
Zircon looked at Spinel. "I've heard of fusion between some gems.. But I've never done it myself. As for this... Bubbling thing, and the shapeshifting? I didn't even know that we had those abilities." He listened to the rest of what Spinel said. "Sure.. Lets try it. So how do we go about this, is there a machine or.." He said, grabbing his hand. The artificial fingers would feel cold and metal like. He was genuinely curious as to how this worked. On homeworld, technicians such as himself, weren't allowed to really fuse because there was no reason to. He stepped forward over a small amount of rubble, and looked around again before looking back at Spinel. He stayed quiet, waiting for a reply.
"Excellent." Spinel said, retracting his hand before Zircon's robotic limb could grab it. "Come, we should have more space since you've never tried it before." He then begun walking to the exit of the boat and out onto the docks, explaining fusion along the way. "Fusion is the combination of two or more Gems into a single form. Very powerful."
As the two made it onto the dock, Spinel took a few steps away from Zircon. "If you're aware of the human activity of dancing, it starts of almost identically to that." Spinel put his arms behind his back. "If you don't know what to do, just do what feels right. I'll join in once you figure it out." Spinel stood with a very strict posture, one that looked military in nature.
Zircon looked at him, with a confused look. "...Dancing?" He had no idea what that was. He looked it up quickly on his visor hud thing, looking in earth archives. He found one known as 'Break dancing'. He did it step by step, and repeated it a few times, until he had it down. He then added onto it, his personality continuing it with what he thought was right. It wasn't bad for someones first time dancing. He incorporated a few hand motions every now and then, and continued dancing.
This was actually sorta fun to him. This 'dancing' was rather fast paced, and surprisingly, he could do it pretty well. He had learned it pretty quickly. He continued break dancing, waiting for Spinel to join in or something.
A slight chuckle escaped Spinel's throat. 'Barbaric.' Spinel took a step forward, and begun to do a classical dance, elegant moves slowly moving him closer to Zircon. Personally, Spinel found the process of fusion to be too similar to romance for his tastes, but he must do what must be done. His dancing quickened, the light and delicate moves now faster as he approached the blue Gem.
As Zircon's dance continued, Spinel begun matching his moves to the pace at which Zircon did his, until he saw an opening. Zircon got to a point in the dance where his hand was in the air for an extended period of time. He jumped up and landed on the extended limb with his hand, and his Gem begun to glow. If this worked, the fusion would be created.
Zircon gripped his hand, and his own gem glowed, the fusion being created, and the 2 forming into Fire Agate. Zircon got an instant rush of knowledge from Spinel, and then it faded away. More knowledge was coming into his mind, but slower now. "Wh- What? Did it work?" He said, in what was now Fire Agate's voice. He looked down at his new form. It was odd how their 2 darker colors managed to form this light, red-orange color, but he didn't question it. He saw his own gem, in a different color. A sort of dark orangeish brown color instead of it's usual light blue. He looked at his clothing too. "Guess so.." He said, wondering how Spinel would respond.. If he would respond. Zircon found this both odd, and cool.
As the fusion formed, Spinel let out a small bout of laughter. Spinel knew all that Zircon knew now that there wasn't a visor in the way. Well, that, and their minds were kinda sorta smushed together just now. "It worked. It's been a while since I've fused..." Spinel began to move the fusion's arms. "Do you feel it?" Spinel asked, with a slow inhale. "The power... You feel like you can do anything."
Suddenly, a more menacing chuckle than Spinel's usual one left the fusion's lips. "It's nice, isn't it? The cold..." A slightly louder chuckle escaped Spinel. "I'm sure you know by now, you can feel it... It's embrace is pleasant, isn't it?" the fusion took a couple steps forward, then Spinel made it jump through the roof of the boat, landing on the docks.
(OOC: Spinel used Corrupt! *Waits to see if the attack works*)
Zircon felt.. Something. "I can certainly feel the power.." He said quietly. "What.. What is this?" Zircon said sternly. He felt as if whatever Spinel was doing was wrong but, it felt great. This 'cold'. It was rather nice actually. Zircon stopped trying to resist it. Fire Agate's form flickered for a moment, before returning back to normal. He didn't like it at first but now he liked it.
Zircon also felt a shift in his morals. Well, kinda. He thought about Homeworld and what they thought of Zircon. And what they would think of him now. Zircon wanted to shatter Homeworld gems now. He felt as if they deserved it, for basically not caring about Zircon at all. He was Corrupted. "It feels great."
This was certainly unexpected. Spinel most Gems were less susceptible to corruption than himself, as Gems like Meta seemed to be fighting it strongly. He remembered when she was having trouble entering Rose's fountain, something he didn't forget to take note of. "This went smoother than expected." He said aloud. "This, my friend, is the Corruption. Isn't it marvelous?"
He chuckled after hearing the blue Gem's response, and begun to make the fusion step forward. "Let's test this out, see if it's worth creating again. I'll let you control the fusion for now. But be careful. If we play our cards right, we can keep people blissfully unaware that we are its masters. If we can do that, then we get to keep our corruption a secret." The purple corrupt sighed, and allowed Zircon full control over the fusion.
"Wait what?" He said before being given control of the fusion. Fire Agate staggered for a moment, before he got back to his feet. He had a lot of power in his hands.. Well, Fire Agate's hands.. He wondered what this fusions weapon was. He would figure it out later. For now, he needed to figure out how to walk. He moved forward, and almost immediately stumbled. He made Fire Agate stand back up, and then he started getting the hang of walking. He stepped off the docks, and onto what was still wood, but it was on top of sand instead of water. He walked a little better across the wood, now used to walking as Fire Agate. "Hey Spinel, can you summon your weapon?" He had seen fusions on Homeworld form their weapons before, so he knew at least how to do that. He summoned his own sabre, twirling it, and waiting for Spinel to summon his weapon.
This Roleplay is a prequel to Steven Universe to an extent with some slight retconing and its own progression to the story that will turn out differently to how stuff plays out in the show. Thanks to the message by Rose Quartz several gems are rising up to protect Earth and have labelled themselves as the Crystal Gems. Others on earth are remaining aligned to Homeworld though despite the isolation of Earth from Homeworld
All gems on earth are still stranded, the communication hub is still offline and all the space warps are shattered, it has now been revealed that this is the work of Rose Quartz and her small group known as the Crystal gems. They have rebelled against Homeworld and have chosen to protect the Earth (Trapping themselves on Homeworld to keep the warps down).
Now both sides are fighting among themselves along with fighting against the 'Corruption' a virus is infecting many gems turning most of them into mindless monsters, but those with a stronger will seem to becoming something more sinister.
The Game has changed now. The question has finally been posed, are you against Homeworld or allied with them. Or do you have your own agenda that may or may not been assisted by the ‘Corruption’. Regardless the seeds have been placed down and although it is only the beginning the fight for or against Earth and the corruption has begun. *Garnet, Pearl and Rose are assumed capture on Homeworld
*Garnet,Pearl and Rose broke the space warps to delay Homeworld
*Thanks to Roses Message gems now know what the Kindergarten was used for
